Ordered a few weeks ago. My father got the veal parmesan, and the veal was rubbery and completely inedible. He ended up having to throw it all away - it was that bad. I don't enjoy leaving bad reviews, so I sent the restaurant an email to see if they could rectify the situation for us privately. They never answered. What a horrible experience I had with this place. I ordered 1 pizza and and was told it would be to me in 30 minutes. When it didn't arrive in 1 hour I called and told the pizza was on its way. 30 minutes later it still wasn't here and I called again and was told by another employee that the driver left with it 5 minutes ago so I was lied to originally. Pizza finally arrived cold and when I called back to ask for a refund I was told no because I was delivered the pizza. It took this place over 90 minutes to deliver my food and it arrived cold. That is good enough for them to keep my money. Stay away from this place as there are so many more pizza options around that won't treat their customers this way. read more

I'm surprised that I haven't eaten at this restaurant before. It's a great spot to drop in for a slice of pizza and where your guest will also have the option for a traditional Italian entrée. Beware, their must have been a change. Have been going here for years and the pizza was always very good. Since December of 2021, the sicilian slices are half the height they used to be and taste different. The regular slices are just downright horrific. The taste and thickness are bad. Now I realize the management is bad. Due to my last and final experience there. I ordered 2 slices for pick up and as I walked up to the counter, a man held the 2 fully burned slices to a woman at the cashier and asked "Can we sell these?". She replied, "Just shut the box and it is fine". I said those are for me and I paid and left. I did not want to cause the scene so I disposed of the slices and went across the street to Anthony's Franco. I have not been there in a while, and wow, they make great pizza. read more

We liked eating there. We did so for a while. One day a few months ago we went in for dinner. While the waitress seemed distracted and made a few mistakes, we don't care about that stuff, it is a tough job. All was okay until I got my food, a calzone. When they forgot to put the order in and the rest of the family got their food, I was annoyed. When I finally got it and bit into it, it was rancid, as in rotten. I spit it out and opened it up, it was moldy. Huge green mold on the inside and when I flipped it over on the bottom of it, there is no telling how long it took for it to go completely rancid like that. I get upset, I just bit into a rancid, moldy calzone. They asked if they could get us something different, I said, "You just gave me rancid, moldy food, I'd like to leave." I and my family, that had just started to eat when I got my food was given the check. They took the calzone off the bill. Wasn't that nice of them? I looked at the check and said, "Are you serious, they barely touched their food and my food was moldy!?!" They asked if taking 10% off the bill would make it up to us and they'd wrap the other food up for us. My standards for suburbs pizza have fallen pretty low. Many places either get the sauce to cheese ratio all screwy or the crust becomes a mushy doughy disaster. So happy I stumbled upon this place ... I was super hangry one day and this was the first place on route 17 my husband and I came across. I would normally not think to get pizza at a place in a strip mall but so glad I did. Pizza is seriously awesome here. The crust, the sauce to topping ratio - it's all on point. The "Papa's" is my favorite so far. The only thing keeping this from 5 stars is the pricing. I personally feel like $6 is a lot for two slices of pizza (with no meat topping - just cheese). Mangiamo is now our go to spot. Great pizza, great wraps especially cheese steak wrap, also the penne alla vodka pasta is good. I've ordered their tossed salad with chicken, calamari, wings, and soup as appetizers before & everything has been good. Their food is on point, they never mess up your orders like some delivery places in the area do. The delivery time can sometimes take longer depending on what day of the week. First time here. Didn't really like the Capris pizza, thought it was too thin and didn't have any ricotta cheese but that's cause I'm used to my pizza place back in NY and I'm being picky. My boyfriend liked his chicken bacon ranch slice and the pepperoni roll was very good. Habi the manager saw I wasn't happy about my pizza and quickly came over and asked if everything was okay. He was so sweet and offered us dessert on the house to make our visit more enjoyable. I will be coming here again. read more

Great food with a chill atmosphere. Food prices are very reasonable but the portions make it more than worth it. Very friendly staff and fast service. It feels like a local pizza joint on arrival but you're treated with care like a mid-tier sit down place. They have so many options and I enjoy trying something different every time too. The first time it took an hour and was told 30-40 minutes and the pizza was just about warm, ok, had to reheat it but it happens... Last delivery order was simple, just two hero's submitted online, philly chs steak w/no cheese and eggplant parm with specific delivery instructions: DO NOT CALL, RING DOORBELL LEAVE BY DOOR ON PORCH, MONEY IN ENVELOPE. An hour and twenty five minutes later I grabbed my phone to call Mangiamo's while walking to the front door. Hung up, food was on porch, I don't know how long it was there and was cold. The philly steak hero was dry, the eggplant parm was grilled eggplant with some sauce and no parm. Is the overall quality of the Mangiamo's declining? I work at a local business and on several occasions we have ordered from here and been extremely happy. I personally LOVEd the grilled Shrimp & Calamari Salad. I don't know if Mangiamos got comfortable with our business or what but the quality of the care put into preparing our food started to go down hill. First strike, we were missing food. Second strike, HAIR in my salad. At this point I called to express my complaints to the owner. He was very sympathetic and even offered my coworker and I a free lunch. Well, that brings us to today. We ordered wraps for a client and our employees and to our surprise there was HAIR again!!! I called again and spoke to a different manager (there are 3) and he said he had never even heard about my original complaint and how it sounded "odd" that it happened to our business twice, yet no one elses. really is unfortunate. read more

Having pizza in the past, We thought this would be the place for an Italian dish. My wife ordered the spaghetti & meatball, I ordered the Chicken parm plate. The waiter being polite & professional wasn't very attentive. I had to ask for bread, We never received our house salads which comes with the meals, And he never asked us if everything was ok. A non-ostentatious, almost ho-hum exterior nestled in a strip mall of NJ-17 hides probably one of the best casual Italian restaurants I've ever been to. My boyfriend and I walked into Mangiamo and I was shocked to find not a dingy, sticky, stale-smelling little pizzeria--rather, we were greeted by bright displays of specialty pizza, calzones, garlic knots, and the like, and neat, abundant, well-kept tables. We were equipped with menus and promptly seated by the very pleasant waitresses. I like to think that I have a knack for selecting my order from a menu very quickly, but I have to admit that I had a lot of trouble coming to a conclusion in under 5 minutes like I usually do at Mangiamo--there were just so many drool-inducing choices in their truly impressive menu that I just could not decide! After much deliberation, and at the insistence of my significant other who had been to this fantastic establishment before, we started off with an order of 6 garlic knots and a complimentary bread basket. I was a little hesitant (and a little afraid that the whole restaurant would judge us for ordering so much goddamn bread) but this amount was actually perfect. The complimentary bread actually came with an extra two garlic knots. The garlic knots tasted so fresh and were perfectly seasoned and not overpowering. The soft bready interiors were addicting and we had no trouble at all finishing all 8. I decided to go with the steak salad as my entree, which was probably a smart move to balance out the lifetime supply of bread I had just stuffed my face with. Although it wasn't really quintessential Italian fare, I was more than satisfied with the huge strips of Angus beef, complemented perfectly with fresh spring mix, large flavorful chunks of gorgonzola, asparagus, and kalamata olives. This symphony of a salad was accompanied by a cup of creamy lemon vinaigrette, which I liberally applied to the salad. A+! My boyfriend ordered a 10-inch Marengo personal pie, and he too was floored by the freshness of the ingredients used to create his meal. The chicken, roasted red peppers, basil, and various cheeses on the pie were a fantastic combination. The pie was a very generous size (more like 14 inches instead of 10?), and would have actually been perfect for two people. He was able to finish most of his pie, and was happy to take home a box of leftover slices. We were so stuffed after the meal that we couldn't order any of the amazing desserts in the little menus on the table that we had perused while waiting for our food...but we'll definitely be back! Mangiamo's (yeah, I'm not excited enough to use the exclamation point) has a great variety of slices. I love the Buffalo Chicken. It's thin and doesn't have any marinara sauce but it has a bit of a blue cheese sauce and the chicken is never dry on it. The slices are about $3-4 each. I haven't tried the non pizza dishes but this place always seems packed with people enjoying their meals so it can't be all bad? One of the knocks against this place is that the young girls who work here are pretty much useless. Sure, they might be decent eye candy for some of you but they don't know the menu, they have trouble with the register and they'd only get your name right if it was Apple, Samsung, or other Android smartphone. I swear, you must need a large data plan and a small waist to work here. The old guy with glasses is always nice though, keep it up pops! read more

Got delivery. Not terrible but definitely needs more sauce. Got a gluten free buffalo pizza that had chicken cutlets on it rather than grilled chicken so had a slice but stuck away from it just incase didn't go all in on it. The white pizza wasn't bad except needed to dip it in sauce as it tasted like dough and cheese. I'm just a big sauce crust balance person and found it lacking sauce. Again issue with price of gluten free pizza and amount of pizza. Not sure if I'll order from them again but not terrible. read more

We had a really good time with my family at Mangiamo's Restaurant in Paramus N.J. The food was very good as was the service. We had visits by the owner, Sam, making sure that we were happy and well tended to. Clarabel was our waitress and she got our order right and we never felt rushed. The chicken wings is a disgrace .... 10 wings for $11.95 = more than a buck for one wing. In reality it is more like one winglet = above $1. The frying oil is dirty so the winglets turned out dark brown. The cashier suggested that I order 20 wings instead since it's s Super Bowl 55 Sunday. I am glad I ordered the min - 10wings because the it should not be listed as wings on the menu ... winglet is more accurate. For unsuspecting customers, please steer clear of their wings. Go ahead if you prefer 'well done' winglets in overused frying grease. One more alert .... I just logged on to their website to write my review. Guess what ... all the reviews listed on their website show same score (5 stars) and there is no option available for customers to write a review. Mangiamo's is located next to the Gap strip mall. Yeah, the Gap that's been there forever. So this means that the parking lot is busy and exiting onto 17 could be treacherous. Not to worry though, there's plenty of good pizza to help brave the random traffic patterns. While their regular slice is on the chewy side, it still packs great flavor. Their specialty are numerous and diverse, we're talking over a dozen choices here folks. Single slices are served in this weird triangular dish. It basically means that you'll be utilizing your hand-eye coordination throughout the experience more than you would on a circular plate. The counter is tiny and in the way of the entrance.
