I gave it four stars because the flow is a little chaotic, seating is minimal indoor but there's plenty outside, and there is only one restroom for male and female. I drive past four other Burlington bagel spots that are closer on my way to Green Mountain. Pam and her staff are always busy but busy with a smile and great attitude. And with grocery prices off the charts, their offerings of day old bags of bagels are a steal at 50 cents apiece. Great job, Green Mountain Bagels!

For 11am it was pretty crowded and while there were plenty of people behind the counter, the line moved somewhat slow. I ordered a Taylor ham, egg and cheese in everything for my husband, and olive cream cheese on a plain bagel for myself. I was shocked to see the egg and Taylor ham being cooked via microwave, but husband said it was fine, but the Taylor ham could've been more well done. My bagel had very little cream cheese. Would've liked more as the taste was quite good.

Awesome General Store!…read more True VT and nicely updated GS. LGS is the heart of Lincoln and it changed hands a couple of years ago. The new owners have done a wonderful job restoring the architecture and updating the store. They scratch make sammies each day and just found that Sandy who used to own the Bobcat pub (Bristol) a few years ago makes burgers on Fridays here :). I used to eat one after my hikes nearby and GTK since Bobcat closed permanently a few weeks ago! LGS has a bit of everything, bevies, caps, groceries, candles, cleaning, fishing supplies etc., and decent gift section too. It's a great stop for the residents, visiting explorers and hikers too as the Long Trail and Mt Abe are close-by. When I visited many residents and kids were coming and going. I saw a young boy putting out ca$h for his candy which was so cute. Sharon behind the counter was friendly and helpful. With many old VT disappearing, I was thrilled to find LGS thriving! Parking is on the side of the store. Enjoy!

By the time I left this place around lunchtime I felt like I was part of the family. My three hour visit included a blueberry corn muffin, red pepper chicken risotto soup served with a fresh croissant, and coffee. All for $9. (note: cash only). The soup and croissant knocked my socks off. I had visions of Oliver Twist slurping up stew and saying, "please sir, I want some more sir." Mmm....just thinking about it now warms my stomach. Note: this place is no frills. Waterbury offers free community wifi but it can be spotty in this location. The charm of this place is definitely the outdoor patio and fact that you have to stroll through an alley to find it. Double note: they sell breads, gingersnap cookies, croissants and a few other baked treats. The owner told me that he has been operating via wholesale for years but just recently opted to open up for a mini café section. Hallelujah.
