I was feeling a little nervous since this was my first time at this salon and my first professional hair cut in years, I honestly didn't even know how I wanted my hair I just needed a change, luckily Brianda (I think was her name) took care of me. $25 for a wash, cut, AND style!??!! I was seen by Tricxy and let me tell you - when I saw her, my hair was LONG (nearly touching my backside) and it's extremely thick. And the best part? She did NOT charge me extra for all my hair. Every place I've gone to, I ALWAYS get charged extra for my long hair. Tricxy was extremely fun to talk to and she knew exactly what I wanted. She checks in with what you want and gives you exactly that. I love this place and will definitely come back. This salon is pretty hard to find, but from what I remember, you walk into these doors and if you see a white colored staircase, go up the stairs and MANE Salon is on the right ! I am so glad I booked with Brianda! I was nervous going to a new salon and stylist. I have fine hair but a lot of it and have a hard time finding someone who understands how to work with that hair type but she really listened to what I wanted and interpreted it into a beautiful haircut. I love that she made sure I was ok with everything she was doing. The salon itself is super cute and love the Kevin Murphy products they use and sell. So it makes me sad to write this review as I've been to this salon before and had a great experience with Melissa when she used to work there. This review is solely with Sam. I went in asking for a balayage in which she told me would be possible to lighten my hair without any lightener ( mind you I have black/brown hair ) I gave her the benefit of the doubt. My hair looked the exact same. I called the salon next morning to reschedule to have her fix my hair- as I paid $260!! , this should have been the red flag as I have medium length hair and she did only a one process color. Mind blowing the lack of customer service skills. She rescheduled me a month later - another red flag, if someone is unhappy with their hair , you try and fix the situation. However due to my error I missed the date but she never followed up or reminded me of my appointment. Horrible experience would not recommend this stylist , should have looked at the prior review about her. read more

I found this salon on yelp and am so impressed with everything about it! To start, it was so easy to schedule an appointment online - same day! When we arrived we were told there might be a wait because the person I booked the appointment with was behind but they were able to get someone else. Melissa ended up cutting my daughter's hair and she did a great job. She was also very engaging and made my shy 11 year old feel comfortable. Meanwhile, I was chasing around my 17 month old little boy and the gal in front was very kind about it, she even closed the front door to help contain him. :) The salon is decorated super cute and you can't beat $20 for a legit child's haircut! I called for a haircut girls stated 10am or 10:30 i told her either is fine she said the girl gets here at 10 so I said ok 10:30 then to give her a little extra time to prep. girl was sweet did what I asked for cut my hair her blow dryer was taking forever she stayed she was buying a new one today. All while I did need to be at work by 12 had the blow drying not taken so long I would have got what I asked for curls. But since I was in a rush I said straight hair is fine. when I seen how long it was taking I told her look, I'll just have to come back. I need to leave I left at 11:52 called my employer and stated I'll be 30 mins late I'm finishing up my hair she, said it's fine take the day off. I came back at 11:57 to tell her great I have the day off let's finish. So I can get my curls I have a game tonight and wanted my hair done so I'd be one less thing to worry about. I also felt a little more damage hair so I asked her finish the cutting of Damage hair and we can curl she said I have another client at 12 I said ok. I sat down And asked had I not walked out for 5 mins would you have asked me to leave because your next client had arrived? She said no I would have finished: how is that Any difference from me sitting back in the chair she finish the cutting and flat ironed a few pieces of hair I told her my hair is still wet in the back. It still is. Well damp to be exact. I feel cheated feeling I was not happy after I left. Felt she should have told me my dryyis running slow I can't give you curls nor dry your hair the hole way/ and I have a cliet at 12 so you being here at 10:30 is not enough time to wash deep condition dry and style your hair. Honesty is what I love I could have easily re scheduled. But now I'm left with me having to drive home back to Yucaipa dry my hair all the way through and curl it my self. Lesson learned. I know we try to be understanding of Stylest but being rushed specially after I called off for you to finish is not cool. I lost money today for a my hair to be cut and styled right. Again I felt cheated. That's all people come back to places where they feel there being giving what they want. I've spent a good amount or money at this place before. I won't stop just schedule your self more time if your tools aren't working properly. I even asked can you borrow one that's faster since we don't have more time. I feel bad saying it but this was my experience here today. I won't say a name because she did a good job at the cut just was rushed out unfinished. read more

I had my hair washed and cut by Brianda today and had a wonderful experience! I have an undercut and she wasn't confident in her ability to fade it out, so Sam helped with that. We had a great conversation throughout so I wasn't bored or restless throughout the haircut at all, and she explained every step that she did. She was very knowledgeable and knew the answer to all of my questions, and my hair came out beautiful! She was also very patient with me with the enormous amount of hair i have and all of my requests as well. I definitely recommend her! The salon is very very pretty it is upstairs above A La Minute, So it did take me a bit to find it lol! read more

I actually loved this salon and have been going here once a month for about 3 years. You get full service; wash, cut and dry for only $35. Even though I have gone through 3 stylists as they keeping moving around, I have had a good experience with all 3. I loved my last stylist, Samantha, but alas, she is moving on too. I was willing to move to a new stylist, BUT nobody that was left can do a very short pixie cut. I was told nobody that was left could do a cut with a razor. I find that a bit crazy, which is why my review went from a 5 to a 3. Even Supercuts has stylists that can do a pixie cut. I would have loved to continue as a Mane Salon customer, but have to find a new salon now. read more

I loved my visit to Mane Salon! The place is clean and sanitary up to date with COVID regulations. I felt very welcomed and comfortable the moment I stepped in. Also, I found my new hairstylist and her name is Melissa. I wanted my virgin hair back after having my balayage hair for a year. I knew I needed a haircut so I booked an appointment here after seeing the great reviews and they did not disappoint. Melissa worked her magic in giving me the perfect mid-length layered cut. Pros: The gal cutting my hair was really sweet. I loved the location and how the salon was decorated. It was also really convenient getting a same day appointment by messaging on Yelp. A shampoo, cut and style for $25 was a great deal. Cons: The haircut I received was not what I asked for. She chopped way more hair off than I wanted. She didn't ask any questions about length even though I expressed my concern for having too short hair to pull back several times. My cut seems really choppy in certain spots...I can't wear my hair straight because it's really noticeable. Overall: I think if you need a simple cut, this is a great spot for you. I'm really upset with my experience I had yesterday. I've been going here for years and definitely won't be back this time. First of all Trixy was rude and didn't make me feel welcome or comfortable, part of paying the extra price for a downtown salon is the experience. She was dead silent, made me feel like she's never done a blonde balayage before, she asked if I wanted only half my head or my bangs done like what?? Not to mention the price $500.. that is by far the most I have ever payed at a salon. I went with it because I already made the appointment but I should have walked out when she quoted me that much. My hair is not as blonde as I wanted and she didn't even give me a mirror after to see the back of my head. So unprofessional and overall bad attitude. I only get my hair done twice a year so it's upsetting that I wasted it on this. Karma is real so she will get what's coming but genuinely I hope she treats the next girl better. read more
