I used to live at Adobe, so this place was our go-to spot when craving shaved ice! It's one of the must-stop-by spots whenever I swing by Davis. Being there brings me nostalgic memories. We ordered a large mango bingsoo with some mochi on top, and it was really tasty! I got to know their owners, who are also UCD alumni. The mango was fresh, and there is a side of condensed milk that you can add to the bingsoo if it's not sweet enough. The portion was generous. Highly recommended if you are in the area!
We came to MandRo on a Saturday evening, and fortunately there were plenty of seats. Don't let that be any indication of the foods as we ordered a mango bingsoo and it was really tasty. Full disclosure as I am mutual friends with mandro's owner but the mango was fresh, the ice was fully flavored so you're not just eating ice, and the portion sizes were big. Four of us shared one mango bingsoo and we were all satisfied
Beckoning bingsu is enough of an excuse to make my way out to West Davis for a cool sweet treat. With the almost-summer hot weather, and mangoes in season, I was overdue to return. Ended up sharing a large order of the mango bingsu (with an extra side of condensed milk) for dessert after dinner at Sam's Mediterranean. You know it's a good sign when you see the boxes of champagne mangoes behind the counter, perfect ripeness and sweet variety! Didn't have room for any of their drinks but their boba is also bomb. Self-serve kiosk for ordering, board games if you want to hang out. Lots of parking shared with the Westlake Market businesses.
The mango sago was very good. No ice! Tho I may have wanted just a few ice cubes. The coconut jelly was very chewy and flavorful. The boba was very gooey and sweet. I normally don't liken boba but this boba very god staff was very friendly and helpful. The space is always clean and a great place to have hangout time with students or catch up on life with friends. Will prolly come back for the taro taro. Solid A.
Omg this place has the best mango sago ever. It's probs the best I've ever tried. The boba texture is perfect, not tooooo sweet, and the drink is COLD!! It was so good we came back 2x in one week lol. It's a really quiet and kind of an awkward shop LOL so we usually order to go. It's easy to order on the iPad and drinks came out in less than 5 min. The bigsoo was dn $20 that's crazy. 3 drinks turned out to $23. I wish this place wasn't so far away :(
Love their fruit bingsoo (they're the only ones I usually ever order). The regular size is already huge and shareable. I usually go towards the end of the night so they're mostly college kids hanging out w friends. There's a bunch of seating due to the amount of customers they have. It's all walk up!
In here on a hot day and holy WOW! The bingsu is DIVINE! Ordered some extra condensed milk to go with it and this is definitely going to the favorites list. They use the sweeter Asian mangos and everything we tried was delicious. Also got the mango sago which was a bit thin and watery but still very sweet and delicious. I will 1000% be back for bingsu again Service is accurate and timely and you just order at a kiosk so the more introverted of issue can get what we want in comfort
My friend and I drove here from Sac after we couldn't make it to our original bingsu place because it was closed. Overall, the desserts were very good! We got the matcha bingsu and the strawberry bingsu. At first I was worried because the condensed milk seemed watery, but after tasting it tasted like regular condensed milk so it ended up okay. My friend and I agreed that the strawberry was the best one out of the two. The matcha was good, but even with the condensed milk it wasn't as sweet or flavorful as I'd like it to be, but it is up to preference! I think my only warning would be that the ambiance can be hit or miss. It is in Davis so you will be walking into a place that has a lot of college students. We went at 9pm and there multiples of large groups who were really loud that I couldn't even really hear my friend across the table. Maybe come at an earlier time. Service was standard, workers were very nice when I asked a question.

Having a business in Davis means being aware of the city's diversity. Davis is a college town with people from many different cultural and racial backgrounds. I come here regularly, but this time I brought my fiancé. We came to try Big Sue. When our number was called, we thought we heard it, so my fiancé went up and grabbed the order. It turned out it wasn't ours, so we put it back and apologized. When we went back, the lady made a rude face and asked for our receipt. Everything is done through the phone, so thankfully I hadn't deleted the message. We showed it to her, but the situation made us feel uncomfortable and singled out. We couldn't help but feel we were being discriminated against, especially since no one else was asked to show a receipt read more
Love that I found this little hole in the wall place, especially being so close to home and not having to drive all the way to Emeryville for my bingsoo fix! Both flavors were great but loved the mango one more. Drink was also very flavorful! read more

The perfect way to deal with the current heatwave. The ambiance isn't the most inviting as your only interaction with the staff is retrieving your items. The chairs are plastic and you order on a kiosk. The regular size is large enough to share which makes the price justifiable. They do charge for water cups here but there didn't seem to be a problem if you brought your own. The texture of Bingsu was heavenly and the dessert wasn't too sweet (a little too sweet for me to order a boba drink in addition to this). There was mochi on top which just came out so it was a little warm but so delicious. Will definitely come back this summer for more and to try the teas. read more

Bingsu is one of my favorite desserts and MandRo has a delicious take on Bingsu. Their portions are huge and filling. The mango is my favorite because they pile the fresh fruit on top and it's always sweet. I feel like it could use more condensed milk on top, however. They also charge $0.50 for extra condense milk, boo. I've been here a few times now and always enjoy their Bingsu but their customer service seems to be lacking these days. When we walked in, we weren't greeted at all. The gals behind the counter just stared at us as we were figuring out the order tablet. When our order was ready they called out a number and I was required to show my receipt to prove my purchase...mind you, my friend and I were the only new customers. I usually wouldn't mind this but because we ordered from their tablet I didn't get a physical receipt. So I had to walk away to get my phone to prove that the order they made was in fact the order I made, even though they were staring at me making said order...3.5 stars for the overall service. read more

Ill get straight to the point. PARKING : very limited and tight parking if you park in-front of the business, unless you park far in the plaza, people cannot drive in that area. BUSY : it is always busy here but mostly towards the night is when it gets super busy i always place an order on door dash and do pickup. I recommend you doing the same. STAFF : staff are hard working and doing everything they can to push orders out quickly, super nice staff as well. SEATING: seating is available inside and outside but like I mentioned, it does get busy. People love to come in groups! DESSERTS : I have only tried the bingsoo and nothing else because its just so good its so CREAMY, LIGHT, and not tooo sweet. I always buy extra condensed milk because it makes it better ! When the milk begins to melt you get a soft creamy sorbet kind of thing going on. Recommend 10/10 Bingsoo is available in , strawberry, chocolate, or mango. And so many others read more
It's so hot... why would anyone want to live out in this heat... wait... I have an excuse for more shaved ice! The mango shaved ice is pretty good with a nice powdery texture without being overly sweet. Very refreshing! Only downside is that it is kind of pricey for what it is and they water down the condensed milk... but it's a nice occasional treat. read more

First time here. This is in the Westlake plaza next to a Dollar Tree. Ordered the mango. One is enough to share. It was good. I want to try the red bean with matcha next. Only thing is I was a bit disgusted by the chairs. Every chair has a number of stains on them. Really gross!!! One chair was about to break so I really hope no one falls & hurts themselves but hope mgmt really addresses these concerns as others have commented about their furniture. Service is ok. Not super friendly just order from the one tablet/kiosk and they call your number so no real interaction. They just look like they're there to work and go home at the end of their shifts. No one really smiles at you. read more
Can confirm the mango here is delicious. Split a large mango bingsoo between 4 people, and we each got a mango sago as well. You can never have too much mango. There is a shelf of (slightly sticky) board games, and we grabbed one and a table. Had a great time playing true or myth and enjoying our food/drinks! read more

This place is a great place for dessert. I will say they can fall behind in getting the orders out when they get busy tho. Everything tasted good. If I'm in the area, I would definitely try more flavors and items. read more
Usually come here for the bingsoo, but their drinks are pretty reliable among all the other boba shops in Davis. They also upgraded their cups which I thought was really cute. I like that they have games and it's a pretty chill place to get some homework done! read more
Been coming here since I was a student at UCD and I've never been disappointed. Their teas are super flavorful and delicious and a must try is the mango sago if you really like mangos! Most popular item is the bingsoo since you can't find it anywhere else! Various flavors to choose from but my favorite is the mango one. The mangos are super sweet and always delicious. The bingsoo itself is not too sweet and it's such a great choice for dessert. Great spot to hangout and chill. read more

I have not ever tried their drinks, but I certainly am a HUGE fan of their Bingsoo (which is Korean Shaved Ice). There is truly something for everyone with their flavors, with the strawberry and the mango ones being sweet, the chocolate one rich (but not super sweet), and the red bean and match red bean ones being creamy, with little to no sweetness. They are a perfect treat for two, coming in very large, very shareable bowls. MandRo is a very popular spot among college students, so expect a wait, as they only ever have one electronic ordering kiosk open. You may get lucky and come at a time when there is no line, but don't count on it. They also have some board games available inside if you want to stay and hang out with friends, and there tends to be a decent amount of seating available! I hacks recommend trying it out, especially if you haven't tried Bingsoo before, it will certainly give you a whole new standard for shaved ice, and MandRo does it so well :) read more

After eating dinner with friends we decided to go to Mandro teahouse for drinks. I ended up getting regular size Stawberry bingsoo because not many places near me have Korean shave ice. I ordered this to-go & when they gave me my bingsoo they ask if I wanted ice to keep the bingsoo from melting( found this really wholesome to me). When I arrived to my friend place(which was close my the restaurant) my bingsoo was still cold & ready to be devoured. The portion size of this bingsoo(regular size) was originally for me to eat but I ended up sharing with 3 other friends to help me finish it. The first bite of the bingsoo was delicious, but after several bites in the strawberry syrup was a bit overpowering sometimes. The mochi slices was delicious & had a nice chewy texture to it. 4/5 pros: Big serving size, chewy mochi, customer service cons: strawberry syrup was overpowering read more

Mandro has so much potential. The bingsu was fantastic but everything else about the experience was a little lackluster. The location itself is big inside, plenty of seating. They don't have any signs on the outside to signify their location, but it's right next door to the Dollar Store. They have a self order kiosk right at the front, as well as some old menus taped to the counter. I'm not sure if each order of bingsu comes with additional condensed milk cup or not, but we added additional and only received 1 small cup on the side. I also added rice cakes and didn't get it. Mid way through our dessert, I remembered and had to ask the worker. She had to check with the back kitchen about it. They gave it to us but it came out on a plastic lid. The presentation was just very meh lol In contrast, the bingsu was delicious. We shared the regular size mango bingsu and it was perfect for sharing. The shaved snow was so fluffy and melt in your mouth. It had a light milky flavor which paired so well with the sweet, juicy mango slices. They have mango on top and a little bit of mangos scatted in the middle of the snow. This is the epitome of a summer time dessert. It's so light and refreshing but still hits all the sweet notes you're craving. My BF ordered their Mandro milk tea and that tasted like a basic milk tea, nothing special but not bad. The vibe inside was just so off putting. The walls were so bare. The energy so dead inside. It was honestly really sad. Maybe college kids don't care about "atmosphere" but it really makes a difference. I will come back for the bingsu but that's about it. read more

I love the mango bingsu here! It's delicious and refreshing. The mango is always super sweet and perfectly ripe! Price is good for how much you get! The drinks here are pretty good as well! I will try the other bingsu flavors the next time! read more

This review is specifically for their bingsoo dessert as that's what I mainly come here for. This is one of my favorite dessert shops in Davis! Located in a plaza with plenty of parking. There is now a kiosk to place your order but the employees will help you at a register if the line gets too long. My favorite is the mango bingsoo. It is super refreshing on a warm day. Mangos are in season now so they were very sweet. A regular size ($12.95) was plenty to share for 2 people. read more

This place is located in a corner of a plaza, it's a little sketchy for first impression. The place is ok size, with couple tables. They had screen for menu but not ON. We decided to try their injeolmi (soybean powder Mochi) and it came with a watered down condense milk. it was so good for a hot day! The presentation was nice too. It was bout $15-$16 with tax included .. so it's a little pricier side. Is it worth it? Only if you are really craving for shaved ice or as a little treat! read more

First time trying this place and bingsoo. They have a self ordering kiosk at the counter. We got the injeolmi bingsoo, regular size. It was enough for sharing. It was light with a slight milky flavor topped with red beans and rice cake and soy bean powder flavor (similar to warabimochi). The condense milk on the side seems watery but adds extra sweetness, if needed. A little on the pricey side but well worth it. read more

Mandro will always have a special place in my heart hehe. It pretty much looks the same coming back, but instead of students socialising I see a lot more students studying? here. They have a kiosk now instead of cashier, so I guess card only. The mango bingsoo is still as yummy as I remember ( perfect amount of sweetness and creaminess). The side is condensed milk, not salty. The presentation however is less than I remember and a little more sporadic. Cup sizes also seemed to have decreased. The essence of the drink is the same, but agreeable to the watered down taste. Came from a recommendation to check it out as a casual place college kids go for dessert. The ambiance is very casual and somewhat barebones which can play into the theme. The shaved ice is a staple and has a lot of fresh fruit. My group got the strawberry and mango items and both tasted very sweet and ripe. They give you some salted cream instead of condensed milk (or it might be a mix) and that gives it some sweet and salty flavor profile. The ice is fluffy and really easy to eat. Service is somewhat limited and more on a self serve basis but they are friendly. The only downside is that it can be a little dirty at tables and chairs and floors but that could be tied to a smaller staff size. Overall I would recommend this place for Davis students or anyone passing by looking for some good shaved ice. read more

My boyfriend and I decided to stop by to get some authentic Korean Bingsoo. We ordered the Mango Bingsoo to share. I loved the sweet generous mango and how fine the soft shaved snow was! I just wished the vanilla ice cream was at the top instead of the bottom, to add some more creaminess and flavor to the dessert. My boyfriend loved it! We will be back to try more flavors, as well as their teas. We had a blast playing rounds of Jenga with each other, they had a whole shelf of games! Support local! read more

This place has been around for years & it's a local favorite to those who are in the Davis area. They are super known for their shaved ice besides the boba. Knocked off 2 stars because they place could use a remodel or deep cleaning. The interior is kind of dirty & you can see it. Their furniture is old & dirty too. You can see stains on their seats with cushions. There are games there too but also old... Service could be more welcoming too. Lady who took our order was very direct & stern when ordering. I enjoy the drinks & shaved ice they have here & would def come back for more. What's keeping me away from here is that the place is old & dirty. It disgusts me. My friends who go to UC Davis have been raving about MandRo Teahouse and I'm so happy they finally took me! It's a hole in the wall located in a small shopping plaza. I've never tried Mango Sago before and was excited to see they had it here! The Mango Sago tasted like a mango lassi. It was my first time trying sago. Unlike boba where you'd chew it, I just swallowed the sago. For the Mango Sago the options are fixed so I couldn't change the dairy, sweetness, or ice options. My friends ordered the Milky Taro which they slurped down in minutes. I tried a sip and it was delicious! MandRo Teahouse is a hidden gem. They offer refreshing drinks and dessert. Service is prompt, WiFi is available, and the interior is casual. They have games available to play. I can't wait to come back with my friends when I'm back in Davis! read more

It was a hot and sunny afternoon, so we had to grab some drinks on our drive back from Davis. We visited MandRo Tea House, a Davis boba shop that seems to be popular with the locals. I enjoyed the Brown Rice Milk Tea, it was flavorful and was nicely mixed, it tasted exactly as I expected. My siblings enjoyed their drinks as well (Litchi Green Tea and Oolong Milk Tea). Service was a bit slow, but that's okay because they seemed a bit busy when we put in our order. This is a good boba spot for UC Davis and Davis locals,. They also serve bingsoo or Korean shaved ice, which is a refreshingly delicious dessert. You'll want to visit MandRo Tea House if you're craving boba in this neck of the woods! read more

Mandro is my go to spot for mango sago. I love the light mango flavor and perfect amount of sweetness. Mandro is the perfect hangout spot in Davis, having tons of games and space to hangout. After we ordered, the drinks came out immediately. Another perk is they have a punch card if you buy 10 drinks you get 1 free so make sure you ask for one! read more

One of my favorite bingsu places. The mangos were sweet and they had mango purée in the shaved ice so it tasted like mango as you were eating. They have a self service kiosk. You just order what you want and they call your number when your order is ready. They have a decent amount of seats inside. The bathrooms were clean. read more
