Lasagna with meatball
Lisa C.

What can I say about Mandola's Italian Restaurant that hasn't already been said? Every visit reminds me why it's one of my absolute favorites. First, there's no long wait to order, which is always a plus. Then comes the bread..... Warm, fresh, and so incredibly soft it practically melts in your mouth. Just as you finish savoring it, your meal arrives hot, fresh, and packed with flavor. Honestly, it doesn't matter what you order because everything on the menu is consistently delicious. That said, I have to give a special shoutout to my go-to favorite: the Chicken Parmesan with Alfredo. There simply aren't enough words to describe how amazing it is. My husband ordered his favorite, the lasagna, which never disappoints. And if you're ordering lasagna without adding a meatball, are you even doing it right? And last but certainly not least.... The desserts. Oh, the desserts! With so many incredible options, it's hard to choose, but the mascarpone cheesecake completely stole the show. Every bite was pure heaven. Great food, great atmosphere, and a dining experience that keeps us coming back time and time again.

Mandola's is located right next to an apartment complex and Ranch at Brushy Creek community. Its quite popular for the neighborhood folks. This was our first time on a Saturday and the place was busy. They dont let you order till they have given you a table on a sticky. Which is quite different and honestly our first time doing so. The food was quite good. The Calamari was out quickly however the entrees took a while. We were on a clock so felt it took 20 minutes to get the food on table. No one comes to check on you the entire time you are there. Water, silverware and even to go boxes are for you to grab and fill. Its a very huge space with a play area for kids. Its popular for that reason too. The patio with the playarea is quite popular with families with young kids. Dog friendly too. Their ice creams and cheesecake are on point. Will visit again.

This is our first time at this location but our second time eating at Mandola's. This location was a little confusing because it said order here before seating. We stood at the counter and watched several staff walk by us until someone finally approached us and showed us where to order. We were at the take out counter. Hubby got the Saturday special, braised rib and mashed potatoes, and I got Alfredo with grilled chicken. We had to ask for bread, but that was fine because it is so good! Hubby said his rib was ok, not the best but edible. My Alfredo was cold but edible. I brought most of it home to warm up. Overall it was not horrible for the price, but we are still looking for a great Italian restaurant in the area.

I had a solid dining experience when I dropped by one night for dinner. They have a massive dining area that also includes outside tables. It seemed very family friendly with the laid-back atmosphere. They also have several large tables for bigger parties. I had spaghetti and meatballs and the other person in my group had cheese ravioli along with a caesar salad. The portions were reasonable, and the flavor definitely there. We also had a couple slices of the chocolate fudge cake, which was insanely delicious.

I am a huge fan of the Triangle location for no frills, simple Italian food, but the parking situation there is not ideal especially on weekends. I decided to give the Cedar Park location a try and now they have a customer for life. Everyone is so nice! The food was solid, the playground was a nice surprise for us and yay for unlimited parking.

Our dining experience here was pleasant. This is a good middle-of-the-road Italian fare restaurant. The focaccia bread and oil were a nice change from other restaurants. The spaghetti marinara was cooked well and had a good flavor. It was also a healthy serving size. That said, the grilled chicken was seasoned inconsistently; one of us had bland chicken, the other had well-seasoned chicken. All this said, we weren't blown away. Nothing truly stood out other than the bread, and that's not enough to pull us back to the restaurant.

Spaghettini Ortolano

More places ought to be like Mandola's. Friends and I visited Mandola'a on a Friday around 6pm and there was already a huge line that was moving slowly but surely. For context, at Mandola's you line up to order and once you reach the front of the line you can order and will be seated. I thought this was a great use of time management because people can figure out their order in line without taking up time at a table. The staff use that extra incredibly well because almost right after you are seated you are served! The wait time after ordering is incredibly short, so be patient if you see the place packed, your food won't actually take long! Since I wanted to try their vegan option, the staff were so kind to give a couple of options. The salads can be modified to be vegan and the spaghetti is also vegan. Unfortunately their complementary bread isn't vegan so make sure to ask for ciabatta bread if you want a vegan option ($2 sur-charge). I ended up getting a half minestrone soup and half a Spaghettini Ortolano. I would rate the minestrone a 4/5 and the spaghettini a 4.6/5. The pasta was nicely al dente and the vegetables had so much bright flavor. Portions are much smaller than other italian restaurants I have been to but the prices are also much more affordable here. The restaurant itself is beautiful and lively with a great ambiance. Overall, I would definitely visit Mandola's again but would definitely request the team to add more vegan options!

Caprese Salad

Mandolas never disappoints! I have tried the pizza, ice cream, lasagna, alfredo and their caprese salad. The caprese salad is always a good refreshing meal. The cheese and tomato taste very fresh. Pizza was 10/10 and so was the pasta and lasagne. I wasn't too big on the Alfredo only because the chicken was a little dry and the pasta was a tad bit undercooked but the sauce was delicious! Tiramisu here is also great. Last but not least their fococcia bread is so soft and fluffy. It always tastes very fresh and is usually the main reason I got back. I've also tried the garlic fries, pretty nice and the sauce that comes with them is good as well. Service is always super fast! And even when it's packed we can get in and out pretty quickly. The whole place is very clean and I love the decorations they have up. Overall great restaurant that I would recommend and visit over and over again!

That has yet to happen, but I did enjoy a nice weekend brunch there with my girlfriend and a friend from work. The bar is super comfortable and cozy. It's such a relaxing and comfortable spot. It's not perfectly designed for a dining experience, but it's greatly shaped and laid out for a bar. My girlfriend and I shared their sizable French press coffee to start. 30 oz of the Lodestar Blend from Texas Coffee Traders. To eat, I ordered the Bagel Breakfast Sandwich, which is your classic everything bagel with egg, bacon, cheddar, and mayo. I added their potatoes as well. The sandwich was good and flavorful, while the potatoes were decent. They could've used a little salt, which I didn't see on the table and never bothered to ask about, so that's on me. My girlfriend got their Avocado Toast with an egg on top. Can never go wrong with some avocado on glorious sourdough bread. Lastly, my friend got their Dutch Baby Pancake, which I tried a bite of, and whew, what a delight. Ruby's bar does a great job at making you feel comfortable. It really helps generate a good conversation on a Sunday morning, just from how relaxed the atmosphere feels. It was all beautiful to look at but was the worst food I've had in a long time. Some of the Pork Chop breading was fantastic. Salty and very seasoned but unfortunately some of it smelled and tasted like fish. The pork chop itself was absolutely awful. So many tendon-y or grisly-pieces or I'm unsure what the true technically correct term is but they were gross. I kept spitting those pieces out, trying to give it a fair chance but apart from the texture some pieces did not smell good like old pork and some of the breading smelled of fish. I just couldn't stomach it. The potatoes were OK. The gravy was great. The mac and cheese had not one single aspect that was actual mac and cheese. Not one shred of cheese, not one drop of liquid cheese. Zero cheese flavor. If there was any cheese on it at all I certainly did not "recognize" it and that is terrible. Zero flavor, salt, or seasoning at all. It was simply boiled pasta shells. I also got the dump cake no ice cream. I don't understand all the rave reviews. It was also very pretty and the texture was moist amd fluffy. But flavor wise it simply tasted like sugar with a slight hint of I'm unsure what.. I give almost everything a 2nd chance. So I'm willing to try it again. This was so incredibly bad I just can't believe that this is the norm.

Even without having dogs of my own, I appreciated how welcoming the environment was. It's the kind of place where you can show up, settle in with a drink, and immediately feel part of the community. The bar is run by the owner, which adds a personal touch you don't get at many places. She was friendly, attentive, and clearly invested in creating a space where both people and dogs can enjoy themselves. The drink selection is simple and fits the atmosphere well: beers, seltzers, and BuzzBalls. No hard liquor, but the options match the casual, dog‑park vibe. The atmosphere is one of the highlights. There's plenty of space indoors and outdoors, and the overall energy is relaxed and social. Dogs are running around, people are chatting, and it feels like a neighborhood hangout more than a traditional bar. I played a few games of pool, which added a fun extra element to the night and made the visit feel more like a community gathering. Even without a dog, I felt completely comfortable being there. It's a great spot to unwind, meet friendly people, and enjoy a drink while watching dogs have the time of their lives. If you're looking for a laid‑back place to spend an evening, whether you have a pup or not... Doghouse Drinkery is a solid choice. I'd definitely return. #supportlocal

But it was pretty hot out, and once the sun went down the party really started- there was upwards of 10 dogs when we left! The property is located out in Leander and is pretty rustic- the park is all dirt with lots of seating scattered throughout for humans (a fun vibe with mismatched chairs and tables of all styles and heights) and cute playground furniture for the doggos to run and jump on. There is plenty of tree shade as well, and water bowls set out for the pups. You check in at the bar and then can order drinks directly from a window in the dog park so you don't have to leave the fenced in park, which is nice. This dog park is super casual- no food served here, or cocktails. Just a nice straightforward (and reasonably priced) beer and wine menu. But really, what else do you need? Just some dogs, music (they had music playing) and a cold beer that comes with a cute coozie. The staff was so nice and really good with the dogs- they were there managing all the interactions and ensuring that nothing got tense. I really appreciated that. They do have doggie ice cream that you can purchase and have your dog eat outside of the park (no food allowed inside, makes a ton of sense). This place may not have jumbo screens and margaritas like some other dog parks- but that's fine by me for the relaxed and friendly vibe, reasonable prices, and staff that ensures all the dogs are safe and having fun! We can't wait to come back again- especially for one of their cool events! (pet psychics!)
