A few months ago we purchased a Tempurpedic bed and platform bed riser for $1000. After we used the bed riser for a week we called the store to let them know the platform bed riser was too high for my wife's 5'4" height (she had to jump out and then jump in to access the bed, which was not safe). We called the store and spoke with the manager and he told us we could not return the bed riser. We told him that we were not told or aware that the bed riser could not be returned and we thought it was part of their 100 day return policy- The 120 day Return Policy as stated in large font on the back of the receipt He stated that if we looked at the "small print on the back of the receipt of purchase" we would see that this was an unreturnable item. When we purchased the bed and bed riser nothing was said about the inability to return the bed riser ' or about 'the small print'. We were told after our call with the manager to try and sell it on the internet. We asked if he could escalate the issue to his manager and were told, they cannot OK this type of return. Well of course they can authorize a return... they choose not to. We were shocked and felt deceived that this was not mentioned up front which would have given us a choice about whether or not to move forward with the purchase. It felt deceptive and extremely poor business practice to sell an item and not mention the 'returnability' of that item until after the purchase and delivery and then asked to look at " small print". For this reason we will never shop at Mancini's again and will not recommend it to others. read more

Needed to replace my old mattress so I dropped by the Saturday after Black Friday. This store has a good selection of mattresses in every variety from affordable traditional ones to hand sewn organic $10k plus luxury ones. Who knew mattresses could even be that expensive LOL! Anyway, I found Tempurpedic to be the most comfortable of all and ended up buying the medium firm pro adapt style. The sales associate was helpful and let me try different mattresses for as long as I wanted... which was a long time because I couldn't decide. Tempurpedic doesn't offer crazy sales but I got a few hundred dollars off, a free mattress cover, and they had a floor model adjustable bed frame for half price! There was a mix up with delivery but they made sure to get the message across so the second attempt went smoothly. Great service! read more

BE VERY AFRAID!! my friend bought a bed and had it delivered. The bedroom is very small, so she stayed outside the room. When they were done, one of the guys ran out of the apartment WITH HER SHEET! while "the nice one" finished up with her. (the sheet had been around the metal frame, protecting the box spring, where it should have stayed!) Turns out THEY STOLE $500 OF ROLLED UP QUARTERS that were in boxes under the bed. She's older and disabled and couldn't run after them. She's talked to the salesman at Mancini's and the delivery company guy, Miguel Torres Scecella (?) AND THE POLICE and is waiting for some kind of resolution. BUT. GET THIS!! Mancini's wants to charge her FOR THE DELIVERY!?!?!? What is HAPPENING to this country????!!!! read more

The salesperson we dealt with was fine but our delivery and dealing with the issues from it was horrible. We bought the mattress in November and it was delivered in mid-Nov and then the 3 ring circus started as I dealt with an incompentent store manager and a corporate customer service staff that have no idea how to give good service. Due to our delivery issues (there were health protocols ignored) Mancini's offered us some money off our purchase but after numerous emails we are still waiting. At no time did anyone from the store manager to the corporate customer service person ever drive this to be resolved, it was always myself having to call to check on status or remind them that we even existed. You couldn't pay me to use them ever again. read more

Sometimes you have an experience where the salesperson is intimidating or mean or dismissive for whatever reason. Well, I had all that and more at this store and recommend not shopping here especailly if you are a female on your own. I thought over this a long time before writing this review and think it is worthwhile to share my experience. I will refrain from taking names but this is what happened. I walked into this store and told that I was looking for a mattress. While doing a mattress-type assessment or whatever it is called, the salesman made unwanted comments that I looked good for my age and that my name was cute and he liked it. When I didn't want the $3000 plus mattress he insisted I should buy after testing it for 10 minutes, he reluctantly showed me the Beautyrest when I asked for it. I don't know whether it is hilarious or downright pathetic that he said he was happy to answer "any and all questions" but declined to when I asked him something, replying instead that I could read the labels myself and compare. That wasn't the end...he then demanded to know if I was buying the mattress. He mocked me to my face about looking for a deal than buying a good mattress. When I told him that I had not even mentioned the word "price", he walked away sulkingly. I should have walked away but chose to try out some other mattresses in the store on my own. A few minutes later, his colleague came and adopted a softer, flattering and equally fake approach. He answered some questions and when I was leaving, he called out and said I was very classy. I felt repulsed, disrespected and downright icky here. read more

When the sales associate heard my budget (under $1000), she sneered and dismissively waved her hand towards the clearance section and told me to look there, then walked away and never came back. After being diagnosed with a sleep disorder that requires me to shift from back-sleeping to side-sleeping, I went to Mancini's for a side-sleeping pillow. The sales person helped me try a few pillows and then sold me one for $130. After about a month of sleeping with it, my neck became more and more sore each time I awoke. So I went to the store (six weeks after purchase) to exchange it for a different pillow, and was told that they don't exchange or return pillows. It's company policy. However, the sales person never told me this when I spent my money. Today, I went to European SleepWorks, and they fitted me with a new side sleeping pillow for about the same price. When I asked about their return policy, they said their policy is to take it back within a month, but really they'll take it back after that as well. So I recommend going to European SleepWorks instead of Mancini's. read more

my friend bought a mattress at the Ashby Street store last week. it was delivered by two men. when they carried out the old mattress they found $500 worth of quarters, wrapped in ten dollar bags underneath and one of them stole it. he wrapped them all in one of her sheets and ran out the door before she could notice it. she reported the theft to the police, who came to get a report. when she called Mancini's to report the theft and asked for a different mattress be delivered, so she wouldn't have to sleep on a mattress that a thief had handled, Mancini's agreed. But she had to stand her ground regarding the delivery fee. The manager finally agreed. Dont buy a mattress at this store! The delivery company that works for them employs thieves! my friend, who is 75 and disabled, is devastated! read more

We had such a great experience with Mancini's! A gentleman named Josiah helped us and he was wonderful. He was extremely knowledgeable about the mattresses and our needs. We tried everything from firm to soft, expensive to economical, temperpedic to foam. We walked away feeling confident in our purchase. The Ashby location had a good selection of beds on display. I wanted a comfortable bed that was not hot to sleep in. The salesperson curated available beds and I was able to try them out. I noticed that the price range continued to get more expensive. Anything for a good night's sleep, I guess? I was also upsold on a "deal" of a bed frame. Let's just say it was not a deal. Bed delivery was a terrible experience! Terrible. They were late, dropped the old frame and damaged our floors. . They also put the frame together incorrectly. Dealing with the bed delivery folks to fix the floors was an extremely frustrating and lengthy process. Poor customer service and no accountability, even when dealing with the operations manager. Phone messages left were not returned. I had to call at the "right time" to catch anyone. They sent one of their "floor specialists" to remedy the damage, whereby making it worse! Had to get a flooring professional from a flooring company to fix the damage. It was a trying time being the liaison to the insurance claim with the Mancini bed delivery folks and the flooring company. I maintained patience and kindness throughout the process. Note to anyone who may experience floor damage as a result of bed delivery, have a paper trail. The claim for damage took over a year to resolve. Oh, and the bed was hot. They honored the 120 night guarantee when I returned the bed (and frame). If anything could go wrong with this order it did. In the end, I chose a bed and frame which is made locally in Richmond. I doubt if I would ever return to Mancini to shop, unless I had done tons of research and knew the product I wanted to purchase. Even then, how the Mancini delivery people failed in response to floor damage would make me unlikely to return. read more

We received horrible "customer service" from Mancini's. They treated us unprofessionally and lied to us about their mattress pickup, a service we relied upon in selecting the store in the first place. The delivery guys refused to take away a bed, and instead just left it on our front patio. No, we do not live in a junkyard. They promised to return the next day and retrieve it but that turned out to completely false, and I believe they knew it at the time. Now then, the sales process itself went fairly well. However, after my wife ordered a new queen bed, we got the run around. The bed did not arrive at the time promised because of a materials shortage but we never got a call. She had to phone the store several times to find out what was going on. You'd think with all the customer relationship management tools out there the store could have been able to monitor the situation on their end and keep in contact. To be sure, we were buying a queen bed to replace two twins that had been put together as a king unit, which we made clear in making the purchase. When we called to see about the second mattress pickup we were told that "store policy" was to pick up only one unit. Wow, that's really going above the call of duty to make things nice after weeks of delays and hassles. I view their tossing the bed on the patio and driving off as a huge insult, aggravated by the fact that I had to hire a crew to haul it away for us. So, if you buy from that store and anything goes wrong, be prepared to be treated like dirt. read more

Price Match They do not price match with their OWN suppliers. I found the mattress I wanted - a Simmons Beautyrest at the manufacturers web site. Price there was $899b There was a store locater page and Sleepworld was close by. I went to the Sleepworld web site and the price was $1150, yikes! Well I know these places are like rug dealers where the price can change on the fly. Nope, they are worse. What happened: I got on chat at Sleepworld and mentioned their 'Low Price Guarantee' and the price at the manufacturers web site. Flat out the salesperson on-line says "we do NOT price match with the manufacturer" "period". (Customer service was not his strong suit) So read ALL the reviews here and form your own conclusion. I for one returned to the manufacturer web site and found another store close to Sleepworld. They not only had the same mattress at $899 and even better it was on sale for $799. Needless to say I now have new comfy mattress and warn others to price check before even thinking of buying from Sleepworld. read more

We got a king size bed for our dogs. Well, actually so we could fit in it with them. We got a great price. Called around and other places couldn't come close to matching it, even other Mancini's. Delivery was slow I guess due to supply chain issues, not their fault. But they were very good about communicating and letting us know where things stood. There was a little problem with the delivery, where the delivery guys hadn't been told about some extra work. But all in all it was a very good experience and our dogs love their new bed. read more

Although we had been thinking (and needing) to update our bed, we were not thinking of purchasing one until we came into Macini's in Berkeley. The salesperson, Jonathan, was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and very funny! He made the visit to this location welcoming and the information that he provided quite appreciated. At the end, we walked out with what we now have in our bedroom: one of the (if not THE) most comfortable bed ever! We opted for the adjustable double twins (to make a king) with different mattresses for different firmness. A few days later, the delivery was made.. this was done and this happened. This arrived on time and was a carried out by Jairo and Kevin who were very professional, did the work swiftly and accurately, were very polite, and got the job done well. Much appreciated. We had a GREAT experience with Jonathan; terrific salesman, helpful and had a low pressure but enthusiastic vibe that we definitely appreciated. At the beginning, the high-tech sleep test seemed like a bit of a gimmick when we started, but actually was surprisingly helpful and ended up being worth the time. We're so happy with out mattress. Worked out perfectly, best bed we've owned. He showed us a wide range of beds in our initial price range and some above it. We ended up going with a bed slightly more expensive than we thought we would but it was completely worth it, and there was no pressure. And the delivery the next day was on time and very well done. I recently bought a Stearns and Foster mattress from Mancini's. We worked with David Holloway. He was very knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. He gave us space when we needed it to just lay on the beds and answered all our questions when we had them. We spent 3 hours at the store! I would never buy a bed without laying on it and Mancini's had many different manufacturers and types of mattresses to try. We slowly narrowed down our choices laying on the beds multiple times, trying different sleeping positions, having the other turn over and shift positions,... Great place to buy a bed. read more
