Our friends come here every time we're in Mammoth. Great place to just chill after a long day. Watch any games happening and try some good, local beers. I will say, that it can get VERY busy. So wait times can be much. But they at least have an outdoor patio (if weather permits) that has cornhole and some things to do. I have made many memories at this brewery. The beer is good and the game room is pretty fun (one pool table and a unleveled shuffle board table). However, I have never been a fan of their food (tacos, salad, flatbread, burgers, etc) and on a winter weekend this place is packed! I was not a fan of the bits of chicken because they were too dry and not really flavorful. I liked the lime seltzer, it was smooth and pleasant. The restaurant was a bit crowded when I went, but service was spot on. It's a nice spot for a young crowd to hang out. I will say it does give a sports bar vibe. When we were seated, we used the QR codes on our table to order both food and beverages. We figured that there would be a bit of a wait since they were clearly slammed. The food came out surprisingly fast, but unfortunately, our drinks never surfaced. After about 45 minutes, my husband went inside to ask what happened to our beverages, and it was an honest mistake that they were overlooked. The staff comped our beverages which we greatly appreciated. But back to the food - we decided to split an order of onion rings to start. The chipotle aïoli that came with the onion rings was out of this world. We each ordered tacos - one order of pork belly and one order of birria. We shared them and they definitely hit the spot. Before I even got to Mammoth I had an idea of what Mammoth was about. On the drive up I had one of their flagship beers at another establishment and thought 'ok, might be a good regional brewery.' I thought Mammoth was the brewery equivalent of the high school champion quarterback: well-known around these parts, but relatively anonymous outside of that. You know, a local hero/big fish in a small pond. Regardless, I was going to try it out because I like finding local breweries and trying their beers, if they have food it's just an added bonus. Mammoth Brewing indeed did cast a giant shadow. They distribute from Mammoth to the Southland and everywhere in between. Basically, it's a beer version of those billboards that say 'World's Greatest Pie 'X' miles away.' No matter what, you're going to be intrigued enough to check it out. I set aside a meal to go check out their brewery/tasting room/beer garden/retail. Again, this 'Swiss Army knife' approach led me to think that it was, at best, going to just be ok. Service has changed a lot during the pandemic. When we walked up, we decided to eat in their 'garden', which in non-COVID times would be a great outdoor space with a live music area, but post-pandemic times is the new normal. QR codes for food but go inside for beers. I was ready to be mildly annoyed. What changed that around was the beers, while the food was good and the outdoor, dog friendly space was great, the beer was definitely the star. Mammoth quickly went from being local hero to a sleeper hit. Yes, their flagship distro beers are good-I had their kolsch on the way up and thought it was pretty good, BUT their limited run, brewery only beers. Let's say this: I had genuine beer HATERS this trip and not only did they enjoy the cherry sour I had here but I cracked open the crowler I bought early. THEN I bought ANOTHER crowler which also didn't survive the drive back down to LA county. While I can say that the banh mi on their EATery menu was a good fusion mash-up that was a messy/sticky/sweet train wreck or that their DAMN good burger, was indeed, pretty damn good with the waffle fries. All that would have put MBC into solid 3, maybe 3.5 territory, but that fact that the cherry sour I liked and enjoyed was similarly enjoyed by AND remembered by stalwart beer haters makes it a 5, easy. read more

If you're going to Mammoth Brewing Company and The Eatery on a trip to Mammoth mountain, I strongly recommend the Pork Belly Tacos. They have corn tortillas as an option if you're trying to limit gluten, although there is a note that the pork belly already has gluten. The Slow Roasted Pork Belly Tacos ($12) come with two tacos, you have a choice of Naan Bread or Corn Tortillas, and they come with Caramelized Red Onion, Cucumber, Chili Honey Sauce, and Pico de Gallo. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, and when there is good weather in the summer, expect to wait in line for an outdoor table, but it is pretty quick if you are OK with sitting in the air-conditioning inside. They also have a free parking lot right next door, and the outdoor patio is dog friendly. You order from your table, and they have separate QR codes for both the drink menu and the food menu. The drinks come very quickly, and they include an array of offerings, such as beer, wine, and hard kombucha. Mammoth Brewing is the perfect place to hit whether you've just finished a hike, hitting the slopes or are simply looking for a way to pass the afternoon. It's located just on the outskirts of The Village and is very spacious. They have outdoor seating, bar or table options. Order and pay from a QR code at your table or order at the bar. Many of their small bites sounded good like the Spicy Sicilian Meatballs or the Bang 'n Shrimp, but we decided to split the Chic'fil Sriracha Sandwich and a side Irish Caesar Salad. We loved the food and paired with the beer, it filled us up. The chicken was so juicy and the slaw packed a punch of flavor. Some other offerings include, tacos, plates and flatbread pizzas. The tap list seems to always consist of 7 core originals and 7 seasonals. You can order a flight of all 7 of either or, but not both. They also offer 3oz pours if you want to craft your own. I went with the originals flight which provided a nice variety of their kolsch, pilsner, pale ale, nut brown and IPA. I visited Mammoth Brewing while on a troubling road trip. I had driven about seven hours up from San Diego to retrieve my father, who had broken his femur on the slopes. I stopped in for a bite to eat and beer after a long, hard day. Mammoth brewing has the option to either order directly from the bar or seat yourself and order from your phone using a QR code. The dining area is a relaxed sports-bar kind of vibe and has a beautiful view of the mountains. I noticed many of the other diners there were regulars chatting with the beertender and swapping stories about their day on the slopes. Service was quick and friendly; I received my food before I knew it! I opted for the Damn Good Burger and a Mammoth Pilsner. I felt as though the $16 price tag was justified considering the high-quality ingredients. It wasn't your run-of-the-mill classic cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, and cheddar/American, but rather a smoky and sumptuous ground brisket with smoked Gouda and a sweet bacon onion jam. The greens consist of baby kale and arugula, which holds up well to the rest of the burger and adds a green and peppery vegetal flavor. Mammoth Brewery also distributes beer as far south as San Diego, so I already knew that the crisp Pilsner would be perfect... and it was even better on tap than it is from the can! What really raised my opinion, though, was the thoughtful care the staff showed me. I ended up taking some cans of beer to go so I could enjoy them back home. When the beertender struck up conversation with me and learned why I came to Mammoth, he showed compassion for my situation and assured me that injuries like my father's happen all the time and that many of the locals get patched up by the medical team and make full recoveries. He cut me a "locals," discount and told me that hopefully next time, I'll be visiting under better circumstances. He's right; next time I find myself in Mammoth, it will be because I'm on vacation and I'll definitely swing by again! We swung by after a day on the mountain for some much needed food and libations. Although it was busy on a Friday night, we were sat immediately. They have an upstairs and a downstairs with plenty of tables. The vibe is chill and everyone was super nice. The bartender made some great recommendations and we were pleased with everything we ordered. We started off with the mac & cheese. This was bomb! It wasn't overly smothered in cheese and it was savory and everything I could've asked for in a mac & cheese. I chose the chicken Caesar salad for my main dish and it was very good. The chicken thighs were cooked to perfection and the ratio between greens, meat, cheese, and dressing was perfect.
