Went here for a casual dinner and knew this would be a different experience. If you go to mama sushi you have to know the vibe you're getting yourself into. I went on a Saturday and music was already blasting at 6pm. Also any table is able to order hookah's so if you go this restaurant at any time in the day you should expect that. With that said i still saw parents bringing kids here. Now the food was pretty good but you have to be open to the uniqueness of it. The portions are pretty small for the prices especially the appetizers so that goes into the 4 star. Also they add an 18% "surcharge" but still ask for tip and when they bring back your receipt after giving a card they dont give back the itemized receipt showing that, just asks for tip again... so very sneaky which i did not appreciate, Overall i thought it was an ok experience besides this to watch out for. read more

The girls and I got together to get brunch at this location. When I arrived I was lucky to find parking right in front. I walked in and had to wait for a majority of my party to arrive. When they did they sat us in a booth. The dj was blazing a lot of reggaeton (not much mixtureof genres). We started with drinks and I went with the sangria which I didn't like so switched to the jack punch which was sweet but not bad. Being a New Uork native and mama sushi being a place we would go to occasionally, we were glad to have this close by after moving out to Jersey. This is the biggest mama sushi, with loud music the first time we came and the second not as bad, the first time we came was a Sunday which was somewhat busy but not overheating. The second time on a Saturday during brunch hours which pretty slow as well which was surprising, so use to this lace being busy but hey it's not as popular as in New York it seems. Went to Mamasushi on a Sunday afternoon. Parking was very easy to get and upon arriving there was no wait time. Staff was very quick to attend us but we had to actually text everything for our order since music was jamming a bit too loud. Appetizers came out quick and tasted amazing. We got a crispy chicken dumpling, the sauce really added an awesome touch to it. The drinks we ordered were El Indio and Punta Cana. They were made so dangerously good that we just had to get seconds! Our main dish did take some time but it was definitely worth the wait. Getting the El Montro and MamaSushi Harlem were the best picks for satisfying our needs. I Definitely recommend this place for a great vibe, good drinks and food. Food was great! I went with a small group, many who do not enjoy traditional sushi. This was a great treat to explore cooked sushi options for everyone. We liked the variety and option for the chef's choice. I wish we knew what rolls we had because they were all good! If you go on a Sunday, get ready for a party atmosphere whether you like it or not. The music will be BLASTING and you will have a hard time carrying a conversation. I didn't feel COVID safe. Not all staff was wearing their masks properly, they would pull them down to talk to you bc you wouldn't be able to hear them over the loud music, social distancing wasn't happening , and there was no temperature check at the door (but they did a security pat down). Smoking hookah indoors also didn't feel safe. My group left as soon as we could, luckily before it got super crowded because we got there relatively early in the day. Because of the food, we would come back, but definitely on another day/ very early. Parking can be a little tough, but there's a small parking lot in front if you get lucky. First time coming to MamaSushi and I'm super impressed! The parking in the area can be very difficult, but they offer valet for $10. I came for 2 PM brunch on a Saturday. Call in advance to make your reservation; note that seatings are on the hour. The space and placement of tables in this establishment are great. For a large party, we did not feel squished at all. If you're looking for somewhere to bring a large group, this is the place. The bottomless Sangria was really good. The problem was that the servers took a long time to come back around for refills and were not very attentive. Because of this, my glass did sit empty for quite some time. Hookah is also available- cash only. As for the steak and eggs, 10/10. Whatever sauce was on the plate tasted so delicious, I had to get it on every bite. I didn't realize until I wrote this review that I was not served my home fries or French fries that come with the meal. My plate of food was very filling, but I cannot say the same for others at the table who ordered other things off the brunch menu. I have been to the mama sushi in New York many times. I'll keep the review short and just say to spare yourself the disappointment and aggravation. I had family from Florida stay with me and I decided to take them here. The wait took forever to take just our drink orders. Meanwhile the place was empty! The waitress was new and no one was even helping her. Food was very mediocre and not the quality I'm used to from their New York locations. At mamasushi they not only have your typical rolls but also, unique rolls with some Dominican flavor. The atmosphere is great. If you go on a weekday you will find lots of tables available, on a weekday it's great for big parties as i did go for a birthday party dinner. However, during the weekend specially Sundays, it gets super packed because of brunch so i recommend making a reservation in advance if you can. My favorite roll is the mamasushi roll which has chicken tempura, bacon, sour cream and sweet plantains. The couple of times i have been to mamasushi i have gotten this roll because it is just super yummy. The roll coast approximately $12. For drinks i had a passion fruit mojito which cost $8. I Order some egg benefits, the English muffins was too dry,the egg were overcooked and no hollandaise sauce. For starters it took the hostess about 15 minutes to try to seat us because she wasn't sure which tables were available and had to go back and forth for help from another worker. Had a decent sized 4 people table located in the corner but she ended up having to switch us to another table which was a two seater that was far too close to the tables next to us. The people next to us were smoking hookah right into our face. The music was terribly loud. Like really hard to have a conversation over it, so my friend and I decided to leave.
