Portions are very generous! I ordered the dolsot bibimbap and usually this is enough for one person, but they gave so much here that it could've been shared with my party! It was a lot, but good. I was able to try out the wings and kimbap as well and it was all pretty good. No hate. Service is as expected. Not going out of their way to give an outstanding experience. Just enough to get you what you need. There aren't too many tables and I can see the larger table in the middle being shared by different groups cafeteria style. Overall, good spot to eat and grab some Korean food on a cold rainy day.
Food was good, but service very bad. Had to call over the server multiple times to get items that we needed to eat our meal. The seafood pancake, ban ban fried chicken, and vegetable bibampap was ordered. Only 2 small banchan dishes was given. I thought cost was high for portion size and service. 2nd time here to give it another try. Will go to my go to Korean restaurant in Bellevue and Issaquah instead.
The ambiance is modern with a few casual tables, and it felt cozy overall. I came to meet a friend around 7:45 PM on a Tuesday. The kitchen was open, clean, and maintained good hygiene. The server was incredibly friendly and sweet. Since I arrived quite early, he kindly offered me a hot tea, which was very tasty and refreshing. I ordered the bibimbap, which was quite good everything appeared fresh, and the egg and flavors were enjoyable. The best part was that the server didn't rush us at all, whether it was with the order or the check. We ended up staying for nearly two hours, talking about everything openly.
Solid spot for Korean food in Bellevue! Would recommend coming with more people so you can share. I came here with 2 friends for dinner on a Tuesday night around 6 pm and it was still fairly empty. It was completely full by the time we left with 1-2 groups waiting, so it's definitely a popular spot. We came in the middle of a heat wave, but it didn't feel like the restaurant turned on their AC, so it was super hot and stuffy inside. I was hoping to escape the heat by coming to the restaurant but sadly that wasn't the case. On top of that, they gave us room temperature water at the beginning, and we had to specifically ask for iced water. If it's that hot inside and out, at the very least they could've given everyone iced water by default... Anyways, moving onto the food. We shared the following items: Veggie eggroll ($6.99) - pretty standard Ban ban chicken ($24.99) - didn't realize their fried chicken would be in the form of chicken wings and not drumsticks, which is what I'm used to. The menu doesn't call out that it's chicken wings either, which would've been helpful. I liked it but thought it was pricy for the portion Galbi-jjim bibimbap ($24.99) - my favorite dish of the night. Galbi was flavorful and they include plenty of egg and veggies to mix together with the rice Katsu mayo over rice ($16.99) - I personally found this dish bland but my other friends liked it. I didn't think there was enough flavor in the chicken and egg to eat with all the rice they give you
I first saw Mama's Kitchen while visiting another restaurants in the plaza. I always like trying Korean food restaurants and this one was very good! We went towards the end of lunch and were seated quickly (there's no reservations, only a wait list). While the seating area isn't large, they're able to fit quite a few tables in and there is an open kitchen at the back. Everything was very clean and the staff were very efficient in bussing tables. They were also quick in taking our order and the food also came out to us quickly. As for the food, I have my favorites and had to get the soondoboo soup. I'd say this is higher on my list of good ones, nice flavor without it being too spicy and I only wish the bowl was bigger. We also ordered the beef bulgogi over rice, also with excellent flavor and quality meat and the seafood pancake. The pancake had lots of seafood but I wasn't used to the panko-like breading. Altogether very good and would go back next time I'm in the area.
Very authentic Korean place. Small place and the wait around dinner time can be hectic since they are understaff and waitlist is confusing. But the food was great. I particularly like bubibamp. Lots of veggies and they even have some jelly like veggies that I rarely seen in other places. Their kimbamp are huge with lots of filling and less rice. But would skip on the tofu soup. It taste a lot like msg with lots of chili powder.
I'm writing this review based on two separate visits. I wanted to share my experience--especially with the Half & Half (H&H) chicken--and see if others had similar thoughts. During my first visit, I ordered the H&H chicken and the hamburger steak. The hamburger steak lacked seasoning and had an unpleasant ground meat smell that wasn't masked well. But the worst part was the plating. The plate was full of water from the salad, which had run into the rice and meat. Every time I picked up a piece of food, I had to shake off excess water--it was really off-putting. The H&H chicken was the most disappointing. I took most of it to go, and while packing, I noticed all six pieces were wings. I had already eaten a couple, so I was confused--how could there be more than two wings from one chicken? I looked around and noticed other tables who ordered the same dish didn't get just wings, so I'm not sure what happened there. On my second visit, I ordered the chadol jjolmyun, veggie kimbap (their best and signature item), and chicken katsu. The chicken katsu is basically the same as the hamburger steak in terms of sauce and plating--just a different protein. I'm not a fan of their sauce. I wish they offered something with more kick or a tangier flavor. The overall taste was bland, and I quickly got tired of it. The chadol jjolmyun was pretty good--plenty of veggies and nicely cooked meat on top. The initial presentation was scrumptious. However, the noodles were buried at the bottom and hard to mix in. Also, the flavor leaned greasy due to the meat and extra sesame oil. A bit more vinegar or something refreshing would have balanced it better. The veggie kimbap remains my favorite. It has a minimal rice-to-veggie ratio and is packed with fresh ingredients. The side of pickled radish kimchi adds a nice kick and helps reset your palate between bites. Overall, I still feel the prices are a bit high for what you get, but since everything is expensive these days, I might come back occasionally. When I do, I'll stick to their signature items like kimbap and tteokbokki.
Mama's Kitchen is a small mom and pop shop serving Korean classics. We came here for lunch and was lucky to get a table right away. It was quite a wait before we got our food but they were all delicious so all is well. We got the seafood pancake, the gyoza, the ban ban chicken and a cup of sikhye. - The seafood pancake was great, it had a different texture compared to pancakes that I've had in the past, not better or worse, just different. - The gyoza I couldn't remember, it was mostly consumed by our kid. - We enjoyed the ban ban chicken; I liked their yangnyeom sauce. - The sikhye (traditional sweet Korean rice beverage) was pretty good but is an acquired taste, so some might not appreciate it. They seem to be known for their kimbap so I would try that next time.
Exactly what it says it is: Korean comfort food. Prices a bit on the higher side, but good portion sizes and we liked the food a lot. When you walk in you immediately get served hot barley tea. Menu on QR codes. Relatively fast service. Small restaurant that I can see getting pretty busy during peak hours. We tried the seafood ramen and the kalbi bibimbop. My only complaint is the "hot sauce" isn't spicy at all!
A cute little shop across from T&T supermarket. Pretty straightforward restaurant there's like barely any decorations but their food is legit! Got the jalapeño mayo and honey fried chicken combo and the kimchi fried rice with melted cheese. I was not expecting the jalapeño mayo to be sweet but it paired really well with the fried chicken! The honey chickens also really well balance and fried to perfection. I kind of expected the Kimchi fried rice to be spicy but it wasn't. It was actually really pleasant and you can kind of taste the wok a little. It was maybe a little too oily for my taste but that could also be the heap of cheese on top. Can't wait to try more of their menu!
Hearty and heavy comfort food here! My friend and I have mistaken this place for Mama Dough in Kent for the longest time solely because of their similar names, yet both serve different kinds of cuisine and are located in different cities. We had that conversation as we were driving to here, which is located in the same plaza where Chi Chi is. Oddly enough, the parking lot is massive yet parking was rough to find especially on a Friday evening around 5:30pm. Well, when you do find parking and get here, you're greeted with quite a plain white interior that has many tables for 2 to 4 people, and tons of K-pop music playing in the background. The overall place was really clean despite it being nearly packed when I walked in. The menu is offered as a QR code, and servers take your order when you're ready. We placed our order for food and then waited for quite a while, to the point where the two people who got seated after we did AND sat right next to us got all their food before my friend and I did, and we all ordered very similar things. It's because of this inconsistency of orders that this visit wasn't the 5-star visit it should have been. All of the above being said, the food slaps really hard for it being comfort food! We went overboard, as I usually do when I eat out: - I got the katsu mayo over rice as my main dish. The rice and eggs were quite plain, and the egg texture wasn't my favorite. The real winner was the chicken cutlet with their mayo drizzled on top of it. My taste buds were in love with the combination of tender, juicy meat, and a subtle hint of sweet coming from the mayo. This ended up being a lot and it was one of two dishes I ended up packing as leftovers. - I didn't eat my friend's galbi-jjim bibimbap in its entirety, but he did give me a large piece of the beef short ribs that came with it. Wow I could eat the meat by itself and I'd be satsfied, it was flavorful and juicy x1000! - We both also split a serving of ban ban chicken, which came with both original fried chicken and yangnyeom (gochujang sauce covered) fried chicken. Pieces varied a lot by size for both kinds, but it was still very satisfying. I took some of the original fried chicken to go as we couldn't finish what was left. All of these dishes were quite heavy, so come with a big appetite and maybe not go as crazy as I did. You'll have a great time eating here!
The rose tteokbokki is always a 10/10! The bibimbap was a first this time, you can't mess it up. But it wasn't the best I've ever had. The jalapeño mayo wings reminded me of the honey walnut prawn sweet sauce. I've been here multiple times and they never disappoint. The staff is always friendly.

** Visited on 7/5/2024 I had visited this cute and cozy restaurant with a group of about 14 - I had called ahead to reserve a table, however was told that it's first come first serve, but they were able to accomodate our large group and I was incredibly grateful for the staff here. Considering we came on a Friday around 4:30pm, we were able to be seated right away and situated. The staff here were especially kind and patient as we had a large group and were trying to figure what to order. They were very efficient in making sure we were all satisfied and quick to help when asked. OKAY THE FOOD: *TRY their Galibi Jjim Bibimbap, it was SUPER yummy and fills you up! *Their kimbap was the perfect kimbap, and if you order their Mama's Rose TteokBokki- DIP THE KIMBAP IN THE SAUCE AND GET LOST IN THE SAUCE. Their food had impressed me and my foodie cousin for sure. We were pretty happy with the overall price, presentation and the portion size. The best part, they're open late night so definitely a great spot in my book. Definitely next time I take a trip out to Seattle/ Bellevue, I want to stop by and try their other dishes. :-) read more

Came with her on a Sunday afternoon with 2 other friends, we were seated right away and had QR code readily available. We ordered the Veggie Kimbap, Bimbibap, seafood pancake and the fried chicken. I really enjoyed the freshness taste of the Kimbap, probably the best I have ever had... the unique veggies stood out and the rice ratio was perfect (not too much). I would definitely recommend this place to my friends. Service was also attentive! read more
Mama's Kitchen has been in Factoria for at least four to five years now and is one of few Korean restaurants on the Eastside. My friends and I came here for lunch on a Saturday at around 11:30am. The lunch crowd didn't start until around noon, and so we had an easy time getting a table. Mama's Kitchen menu is pretty limited, but they have all the popular Korean fare including Korean Fried Chicken, Kimchi Fried Rice, Tteokbokki (cylindrical rice rolls), and Soondubu (spicy Korean tofu soup). For three of us, we ordered MAMA'S KIMBAP, MAMA'S ROSE TTEOKBOKKI, and MAMA'S HONEY FRIED CHICKEN. The tteokbokki and the fried chicken both came with miso soup and the kimbap came with a side of kimchi radish. Of the dishes we ordered, the ROSE TTEOKBOKKI was the best. It was super rich and creamy and came with a piece of shrimp tempura, and egg roll, and a potsticker. The KIMBAP was also decent and was filled with beef, shredded egg, daikon, spinach, and carrots. They fell apart pretty easily though and so you have to eat them in one bite. Surprisingly, the HONEY FRIED CHICKEN was a little disappointing. While it had the right Gochujang sauce and flavor, the chicken was soggy and not crispy like traditional Korean Fried Chicken. With that said, the chicken was the most generous in terms of portions. The restaurant itself is pretty tight and only has eight to ten tables max with some window seating. It's clean and modern. Service was okay. It took some time to waive the waiter down. I also wish they served complimentary hot tea and unlimited ban chan. I'm my honest opinion, prices are kind of high for what you get (in comparison to Danji and Cho Dang Tofu), but it's definitely convenient for those passing by Factoria on their way back from work. Such a staple place in my life. I love Mama's comfort food and I always find myself coming back. I do wish their ban ban chicken had less breading and more chicken (the pieces are small). The fried rice and budae jjigae are so good! read more
A great spot to eat at on the Eastside. Mamas Kitchen is a casual spot with some really good food. Besides how good the food is the other things I really like are how everything is shared so you get to try a lot of different dishes and the prices are affordable. I have been here a couple of times and tried a few different things and my favorite things are the katsu mayo over rice (you 100% should order this), the mamas japchae which is a super flavorful glass noodle dish and the soondooboo which has a good spice level to it and I really enjoy putting rice in it to soak up all the flavor. The mamas kimbap is also really good as well. The fried chicken is solid but I think the katsu is much better so I would recommend that and the cheese tteokbokki was not my personal favorite as it was too sweet for me and I just wasn't a fan of the cheese. My recommendations are to come on a week night as it is really popular and you will have to wait a while on a weekend and to try a few different items. I look forward to trying some other items off the menu in the future! read more
No questions asked, just come here. Wow. I wished they could open an authentic restaurant like this in Houston!! The Soondooboo Soup - seafood / tofu is the best I've had. My friend got their Chicken Katsu over rice and she said it's the best she's ever had. She even ordered an additional togo plate and asked for extra mayo on it. One recommendation is they could offer more free side dishes like other korean places, but besides that... would definitely come back here! Such a nice and pleasant place! Perfect for lunch. I came right at opening time on a Friday, and were the first people inside. It seemed like they were still getting ready but were still able to deliver our food in a timely manner! I got the mama's gimbap and my friend got the seafood rose tteokbokki. This gimbap was so pretty! It had the greatest filling to rice ratio that I've ever seen, and was packed full of veggies, imitation crab, bulgogi, etc. It was so fresh and delicious! I also tried some of my friend's tteokbokki which was super good as well -- very creamy and the perfect balance of sweet, savory, and spicy. We both really enjoyed our meals :) Also appreciate how the kimchi with it was super fresh and yummy too. Thanks for having us! read more

We were craving Korean food so stopped by in the neighborhood. Parking was complimentary. Luckily, we got sat right away before dinner rush started. The ambiance was cozy and casual. We ordered tuna kimbap, tteokbokki and mamas budae jjigae. The service was upbeat and friendly and portion was generous. I haven't been here for long time and they changed ingredients for tuna kimbap and it's worth the price. The only downside was the side dish and it only came with radish. Other than that, everything was delicious. We look forward to dining here again. read more

Excellent kimbap that has minimal rice. The hot stone bowls are really yummy too. And I could eat the radish kimchi every single day for months on end. Bulgogi bibimbap is on takeout menu but not on restaurant menu, but is one of my favorite things to order. Veggie stone pot bibimbap has lots of vegetables and is delicious. Always a line every time I've been but it moves quickly; service great, food excellent. Tables close together so if you need more space in a restaurant, you might want to get that kimbap to go instead. read more

Came in on a Wednesday afternoon about an hour before closing. It took awhile for the waiters to come by and take our order (we started to wonder if we had to go up to the counter to place our order). All in all, I wouldn't expect great service if I were to come again. We didn't get our waters refilled, and we were given the check before we were anywhere close to done. On the bright side, though, the food was good. We had the tteokbokki, yangnyeom chicken, and spicy pork - at we ate family-style. All of the dishes were good, but the chicken was my fave. It was perfectly crispy, and just the right amount of spicy. I am not sure I would reorder the tteokbokki at it's price point, though. read more

Mama's Kitchen offers good Korean food. I enjoy getting their Katsu Mayo ($16) and Spicy Rice Cakes ($15). Taste was good as usual, however, I feel like the portioning was less. For the spicy rice cakes, I love the savory taste that it provides. Unfortunately, they only gave us 5 fish cakes in the dish. Heads Up: The sauce of the spicy rice cakes is actually spicy if you choose that level. The Katsu Mayo is a pleasant surprise for those eating it for the first time. I loved the sweet taste it provided. This time, there was less Katsu and it wasn't cooked as tender previously and was a bit too cooked. The service was good. The servers were good at noticing when we were ready to order and quickly helped us out. Nicely answer and delivered any questions or requests we had. Food didn't take that long to send out. The ambiance provides a homemade Korean food restaurant. The inside is nicely organized and simple. It feels comforting to eat here. Overall, this is a nice Korean restaurant to try out. read more

Hearty comfort food. They have lunch combos for a little extra - 3 pieces of gyoza and soda but I don't think it's significant enough to note. I'd stick to just an entree personally. We got a side dish of radish and that's it - not sure if they have side dish but it was strange to get just one. Kimchi Cheese Pancake - fluffy like a classic Korean seafood pancake. Not the crispy green onion pancake (obviously). Was more pancake than cheese than kimchi. Lots of dough, good amount of cheese throughout, underwhelming kimchi though. Bulgogi over Rice - bulgogi, rice, and onions. Very simple and comforting but nothing special. Pretty small portion though, in my opinion. Katsu Mayo over Rice - loved the katsu! Super soft and tender cutlet. Big fan of the egg, rice, and meat combo. Felt larger than the bulgogi and tastier too, so this would be a go-to. read more
This place has a homey Korean vibe with workers that speak korean to each other so you would think it would match up. But it do fall short like hasabulla. The stand outs are the rose tteboki and the yangyeom chicken. These dishes would make any ajumma proud. The galbijim was good but not daeho good and everything else was disappointing like my ex. I've had friends that I trust recommend this place so we were glad to finally give it try. Happy to say this is the 2nd best Jun ever (aka Seafood Pancake next to my wife's ) :D A nice twist with the added crunch of what is probably panko coating. Delicious. We also ordered the Ban Ban Chicken and Mamas Kimbap. Will probably try something other than the Kimbap for the sake of variety but we'll be putting Mamas in the rotation for sure. read more

Was looking forward to trying this place for quite some time. Everytime we tried coming here the parking lot was full and there was always a line as this restaurant is not very big. Overall the food was decent. Nothing wowed me to say I'd have to come back. I think my favorite thing was the pickled diakon if I'm being honest. 12 wings for $24.99 seemed overpriced but the flavor of the honey and jalapeno mayo were both good. The restaurant seems to be more of a no-frills setup. No real ambiance to speak of and reminds me of a cafeteria environment. For me everything was pretty average, but glad I tried it. read more

Amazing food, good variety! Rolls are great here. Good service, friendly and helpful employees. The only thing embarrassing, it's rolling away buckets with trash, in front of guest. We came here for an early dinner on a Saturday and there was already a line. There isn't that much seating inside. The half honey fried chicken and the half jalapeno mayo fried chicken were really tasty - the chicken was crispy on the outside but still juicy on the inside and they were all relatively big pieces. The budae jigae wasn't as special and we felt that it lacked more filling on the inside. We were also surprised that it didn't come with any side dishes which we normally find at Korean restaurants. The service was pretty good. The seafood pancake took a while to come out because they burned it a few times before getting it right - the server was very apologetic and comped that portion of our meal. The pancake was very crispy and different than normal seafood pancakes since they use panko. We'd come back again to try other things on their menu. read more

As always I love this place! We ordered galbi jjimm bibimbap too and it was delicious! The chicken we went with half honey half original, and lI iked the original more. The bulgogi over rice is also good. The sikye had too much ice, but was also good. The staff was great! read more

I've been a few times now and I really like the food. Parking can be difficult, it's in a small strip mall. We try to go before the dinner rush. It's a small clean restaurant. You seat yourself. We've had great attentive service and service that can be slower but always good. They give you a pitcher of cold water and paper cups after you order. Chopsticks ( disposable) and regular metal silverware. Little metal share bowls are also great. Food comes fairly fast. Has always been hot and good. I'm working through the menu. My favorite this far is Chicken Katsu and tuna kimbap! I really like the house salad and cream soup too. Always enough to take some home ( I love leftovers!) Can't wait to go again! read more

We had the honey fried chicken with the sauce on the side and kimchi fried rice. The chicken arrived first, and we had almost finished it by the time the rice came out. Great customer service and our food was so good! I'm glad that we finally stopped by to try it out. It does get pretty busy too so plan for that just in case. It was a very comforting meal! I love meals that taste like they were cooked fresh at home. We will definitely be back a lot. read more
6.19.2022 We stopped by on Father's Day around 6:30pm. Restaurant was busy and we waited 20min for 2people. This is my 3rd visit at Mama's and I was excited to try something different from first 2visits. We ordered and we waited another 20min and Kimbap showed up. Kimbap was very colorful and beautiful looking. I enjoyed Kimbap- carrot, eggs, danmuji, cucumber, and beef was nicely cooked and flavorful. Kimchi pancake with cheese was little bit oily but it was very crispy. Ban ban chicken was not flavored enough, but I was already full when this chicken came to out table. I would love to come back again to try their Mayo katsu curry! read more

We were in the Bellevue area for some reason and were craving Asian food. I haven't really had a lot of Korean food that's not Kbbq so I'm glad I found this place. Their katsu Mayo with rice was delish but the Galbi jjim bibimbap just stole the show! I only added a little bit of hot sauce just to take it to the next level but the bibimbap was already so flavorful from the meat and everything else. It's so full of umami/flavor, yet it tastes so healthy at the same time. I had this a few months ago and now I think it's time to go back for this dish! Note: they are so busy and they don't take reservations so be prepared to wait! Worth it though! read more

Like they say-it really is fusion. Flavor wise its not traditional Korean food flavors. A lot more sweet for most of the dishes and less of the traditional flavors I am used to. But I enjoyed eating the chadol jjolmyeon and the katsu jungsik! For drinks we got to try their shikhye and it was delicious but full of mostly ice so we only got so much of the actual drink itself :/ All of the foods are very pleasing to the eye but didnt please our tastebuds as much. If I had to pick one dish to stay away from it would be the hambak steak jungsik. We couldn't eat more than a bite of the hambak steak. It was pretty and looked delicious but the flavor was just way too off and too sweet. read more
