Very nice clean, family owned place. Don't let the area fool you this place is wonderful. I tried the chicken shwarma sandwhich it was amazing. Great flavors, those pickled turnips are just yum. My mom and I visited Mama's Kabab today for the first time. We will definitely return! The food was very good - we had the combo plate (chicken, beef and rice) and the hummus. We loved every dish and the quality of the meat was tender and good. Everything very tasty and freshly made. Other Yelpers mentioned the hummus - it's made just right & was delicious! This is a very good middleastern restaurant. Its small but the food is authentic and the owners are really nice. I think it's only the couple who run it who actually work there but I could be wrong. The owner is as nice as can be and usually will give you a complimentary bachlava (sp?). I've never been when it's busy, but I can imagine that if it is service might be a bit slow, but that's literally the only setback. Totally worth checking out. read more

Tried it for the first time today. It did not disappoint! Had the chicken kabob with salad. The chicken was so juicy and had so much flavor. My 2 year old ate the chicken and he usually only likes chicken nuggets that are fried. We also ordered a side of hummus and grape leaves. Hummus was amazing! Husband said grape leaves were really good too. Restaurant was very comfortable and clean and the lady who I assume is the owner was very friendly and sweet. Loved this place! Great Food and even better owners. Where else in this city would you find such amazing owners willing to open back up their restaurant just so I could place an order to go. So far I've tried about a quarter of the menu and the place hasn't let me down yet. They are not stingy with the hummus, I feel so guilty towards the end when I still have 3/4 of my hummus left, even though I dipped all my kebabs, chicken, beef, radish, and the bread in it. The owner gave me a free piece of baklava the other day and it was awesome! Sly son-of-a-gun will make me spend an extra couple bucks on the baklava now because there is no way I will be able to walk out of there without eating a piece of baklava. read more

We went there on a Friday evening based on the great reviews. When we arrived (around 715), there were a total of two tables with guests. We both ordered chicken (Schwarma, Kabob)..which were served with rice and a little vegetables. All ordering is done up front and paid for ahead of time. Unfortunately, I think they forgot to start our order as we waited for 30 minutes before someone came out and gave us an order of hummus w/pita (no mention of the delay). Once we finally received our meals, they both were pretty tasty and a good size portion (reason for the high star reviews I am sure). Once we finished our dinner (and the place was getting ready to close), they also provided an order of baklava (again, no mention of the delay). Although it was nice that they gave us some additional "comp", it would have been nice to address the issue. I would probably go back, but I would hope the next time will better live up to the ratings. read more

I ordered the beef shawarma sandwich and it was huge. It was delicious and filled me up fast. Service was outstanding. The old man (the owner) was so sweet. He gave me a free baklava. I love the texture of baklava and it wasn't too sweet. The layers just melted in my mouth. I'm craving for more as I am writing this review HAHAHA. All the Yelp reviews about this restaurant piqued my curiosity and guys, I was not disappointed. The food was savory and fulfilling. What I greatly appreciate is the generous portions that this place offers. We all know how all restaurants need to increase their profit by cutting down the portions of meat that they serve... But this place was the exception and I am SO glad for that. ( I dined in ) They offer a variety of meats: chicken, beef, and lamb.
