Stumbled upon this restaurant on our way to a Korean supermarket in Garden Grove. As we walked in, the restaurant was spacious and clean. We sat down and ordered the rib eye wrap, a chicken shawarma, a side of fries and a Mediterranean salad. The salad was excellent, lots of flavor and the vegetables were crispy and cold. It was perfection. The fries were hot, definitely made to order. The wraps were delicious and shareable. I didn't realize that Brookhurst street is considered Little Arabia.

Absolutely love this place! I went 2 weeks ago for the Ramadan buffet and I was floored at how authentic and home style it all is. The owner has the warmth and welcoming vibes that reminded me of my aunts which was a sweet touch. Great vibe and the area was spotless. Can't recommend it enough

Man this is a must try! I was recommended by a business connection to try this place. The owner is named Fatima! First off they welcomed us in and had us take a seat. The smell of the place was already getting me excited to try the food. We told them to give us anything they recommend and they served us a beautiful plate of food. The chicken was so juicy and flavorful, the lamb was cooked perfect and the Koobideh was amazing. 10/10 on the food and presentation. If you're in Anaheim and looking for a healthy but filling meal, you need to come to Al Sultan!

Wow, they have amazing food. My dad and I tried out our Sultaan restaurant today for dinner and we had a pleasant time. Service/Ambiance: The service was phenomenal and the interior of the restaurant was casual and cozy. There was only one other party in the restaurant with us. The guy who was helping us out was extremely friendly and told us that there was complimentary coffee and tea available. Food Consensus: We decided to get the stuffed grape leaves and the mixed Sultan plate. It was my first time having stuffed grape leaves and I was surprised they were mildly tangy. I wasn't sure what I was expecting but it was great. There was rice with herbs and spices in them and they were very moist. We didn't know that the stuffed grape leaves on the appetizers menu was vegetarian and we asked the server if they had ones with meat and today was our lucky day! The stuffed grape leaves with lamb was the special of the day. He kindly offered to let us try some out for free and this sweet lady brought some out to us. The ones with the lamb were just as tasty, moist, and delicious as the vegetarian ones. The mixed sultan plate had one beef kufta kebab, one lamb kabab, and one chicken kebab. All of the kebabs were flavorful and tender. My dad kept wondering how the chicken was so juicy. Their hummus was absolutely delicious and the toum was great. I'm unsure of what that other sauce was but it was delicious as well. Everything with the rice or pita was just amazing. Next time I'll bring more of my family and we will try the Friday special - mansaf. I would highly recommend checking out Al Sultan restaurant for some amazing food. It's a great family owned business that deserves more attention.

Ask the Community - Al Sultan Restaurant

I noticed nuts on some of the dishes, are these peanuts or sliced almonds? Can the dished be prepared without this garnish?

Sliced almond. I always ask not to have it on my food.

    Are you guys halal?

    Yes they're halal

From the moment you walk in, you already see people walking out with boxes on boxes which tells you everything. This is the kind of place you come to eat and to cater. They do have plenty of seating, but during peak hours it definitely gets crowded and packed. A true sign of how loved this place is. The ambiance adds to the experience too. I especially love the Middle Eastern paintings on the walls. It gives the space a warm, cultural, and authentic feel. First off, the bread. All house made and incredibly fresh. You can taste the quality in every bite. From the dough to the toppings, everything feels intentional and authentic. The spinach pies... absolutely next level. Spinach packed generously and bursting with that bright, zesty lemon flavor, mixed with onions and olive oil. Perfectly balanced and so satisfying. Muhamara had a nice kick today. It had a medium spice level with just enough heat to keep things interesting (and honestly, I love that it varies a bit. It feels homemade every time). The cheese manaeesh is a WOW. The cheese blend they use is so good. I'm lactose sensitive and somehow never feel bloated after eating it which says a lot. And the safiha... You can literally taste the depth of the seven spices, with a hint of cinnamon that ties it all together beautifully. Everything is made to order. So yes be prepared to wait at least 20 minutes. But trust me, it's 100% worth it. Quality like this takes time. What really seals the deal is the people. The owners and staff are beyond welcoming. The kind of place where you instantly feel like family. I've become a regular, and every visit feels like coming home. Authentic, fresh, flavorful, and made with heart. Don't sleep on this spot.

For two, we ordered the "individual portions" of Mandi Chicken (young chicken roasted with Yemeni spices) & Lalamb Haneeth (a roasted young lamb that falls off the bone). These were both served over a large platter of Mandi rice and came with Yemeni sauce and yogurt. It was expertly made, yet still gave us the warmth of a homestyle meal. The generous portions resulted in a second meal for me! On a Tuesday night, this place was quite packed with friends and families. It seems like wonderful place to host parties or business meetings. Someone nearby us had a birthday, and a group of staff came out with a dessert, blasting a traditional birthday song over the speakers and encouraged the whole restaurant to clap along! Despite the large gatherings, the restaurant is a no-reservation spot. They have a covered patio outside to seat an overflow of customers in case. Thankfully, my boyfriend and I were seated right away. They had a contactless menu, and we scanned a QR code to check our food options, but a server took our order and offered great recommendations once we waved him down. I would love to come back and try other dishes, like their grilled chicken or lamb--as well as the desserts and teas !!

Was craving some Turkish Pide which is a Turkish flatbread usually with meat, cheese and sauce and…read moresaw this place offered it so wanted to give it a try. I tried my first one in Seattle at a place called Miss Cafe and really enjoyed it. This restaurant is located in a large plaza so there was plenty of parking. Upon walking in it was pretty busy on a Sunday around 11:30am, we were seated immediately. As we were leaving, there were plenty of people waiting for a table. Food I was hoping to order a combination juju boat but the waitress taking our order mentioned the beef is out of stock so therefore we ordered the Juju chicken pide. The flatbread was cooked nicely, the dough was thin, every bite didn't feel too heavy. However the chicken was really dry and didn't feel like there was enough sauce/cheese, ended up putting some garlic sauce on top and it made it a little better. We also ordered the combination platter which came with lamb Kofte, beef/chicken kebab and two sides. We chose hummus and salad as the two sides and it paired well with the plate. The beef was a little dry but the Kofte and chicken were pretty good. They also served us two flatbreads which was nice for wrapping the meat and dipping in hummus. The hummus tasted very fresh and clean with delicate flavors, wish it had a little more tart. Side salad was simple and fresh with olive oil and lemon juice. The Kebbah was piping hot but didn't have much flavor, think it needed some sort of sauce. Overall, the ingredients tasted very fresh and minimalistic but definitely can do with a bit more seasoning or sauce for flavor. Service was friendly and not overly attentive. The servers didn't offer any water or drinks. Almost every table had tea so we flagged down someone to place an order after ordering our meal. There was a little mishap with our order but the owner came over to the table and cleared up the misunderstanding and asked us if we needed anything. Didn't seem like they had a lot of staff for such a busy morning. The space felt very clean and very lively with the lunch rush.
