It's in a tiny strip center on the way out of town heading to I-40 and from the outside seems like a very generic shop. There was no one else there, as we were late in the lunch window. We were greeted instantly, and from there every interaction with the team was very engaging. Even the people preparing the food interacted with us to ask how things were as our meal went along. Very personable. Let's get to the food. I opted for their special of the day, which was The Shawarma pita sandwich. I'm including a picture of its description and of the sandwich itself. My wife ordered the Kaleidoscope, which is a vegetarian sandwich, but she went with their option to have it served as a salad, which meant it was in a bowl and on a bed of seasonal greens and topped with lemony garbanzos. The Kaleidoscope also boasts kale, red wine shrooms, crunchy house pickle, caramelized onions, and an herb green sauce. It was a flavor explosion. Everything blending unbelievably well. The dish showed creativity not only in the mix of ingredients, but the presentation as well. I'm sure it would've been a great sandwich, but it was killer as a salad. My special of the day, The Shawarma Greek pita was wonderful. Everything I love about Greek food and spices all neatly put together in a tasty pita sandwich. I opted for it to be "herby"rather than spicy and it was a beautiful blend of flavors. Blackbox was surprising for its food quality and tremendous customer service in a non-descript setting with paper plates and cans of soda. We would absolutely recommend it. There are some tables where you can eat on site or it appears many people takeout. This is a gem. Try it!

Not only were they large, but everything was fresh, and crazy delicious. I could drink the herby sauce on the midnight snack. The owner was so kind, grabbed a high chair for our toddler, and gave us a cookie to try. It was the best chocolate chip I've ever had. They swap out baked goods and I'm always envious when I see the daily special on instagram and I'm too far away to snag it. We can't wait to go back!

1/2 Review: The Allard Bakery and Bistro…read more We stopped in for a late lunch and were immediately greeted and seated, always a great first impression. Our table setup included two chairs and a couch. While comfortable, the couch sat noticeably lower than the tabletop, making it a bit awkward for dining. This was the only minor knock during our visit. Service, however, was outstanding. Our server, Austin, was kind, engaging, and genuinely attentive to our needs. The pacing was spot-on and the hospitality felt effortless and warm. Now for the food. We ordered the Farm Burger featuring Kobe beef, an over-easy egg, bourbon pork belly, pepper jack cheese, caramelized onions, and baby mixed greens. It arrived beautifully plated and cooked exactly as ordered. We upgraded to the truffle fries, which were absolutely worth it. Crispy, flavorful, and indulgent without being over the top. We also enjoyed the seasonal roasted beet salad, a refreshing and well-balanced dish with strawberries, roasted candied pecans, and a variety of beets that played together nicely in both flavor and texture. Pricing felt appropriate for the quality of ingredients, thoughtful plating, and excellent flavors coming out of the kitchen. All in all, a fantastic experience with just a small seating hiccup keeping it from a full five stars. A return visit is definitely planned.

The atmosphere is elegant yet welcoming, with a modern meets classic charm that sets the tone for a thoughtful dining experience. I had my eye on the shrimp gnocchi, which several reviewers rave about, but unfortunately it was unavailable that day. We started with side Caesars which was fresh and crisp, though fairly standard. I ordered the Jadore Chicken Garden Salad and asked if I could substitute grilled chicken for crispy, but was told no. Oddly, when the salad arrived, it had grilled chicken after all. It was good, just not particularly memorable. My husband had the steak and eggs, which he said were cooked perfectly. Again, solid execution, but nothing that stood out. That said, the overall quality of the main courses was very good. Looking over the dinner menu, we are eager to come back in the evening. The real magic happened at dessert. We overheard a staff member mention that one of the women behind the counter makes many of the desserts herself, and she may be from Italy. Our server couldn't stop praising her crème brûlée and key lime tart, so we had to try both. The crème brûlée was smooth and flavorful, though a bit softer than I prefer. But the key lime tart? Absolutely phenomenal. My husband, a Tampa native and self-proclaimed key lime aficionado, broke his keto diet for it--and declared it one of the best he's ever had. I don't usually like key lime, but even I was impressed. Tangy, creamy, and perfectly balanced--it's a must-try if you're anywhere near Hudson. Service was friendly, and while there were a few small hiccups, the warmth and pride the staff take in their food really shines through. We'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu, and to get another slice of that unforgettable tart.

I had a sausage egg and cheese on a biscuit with a side of bacon bc I wanted to try more of the things for a more comprehensive review, also had some home fries. As my friend had told me "we're in biscuit country" (I was thinking of bagels for breakfast) he was right. Good thing is too no matter the time of day, you can order any part of the menu which is nice

There is local artwork displayed on the walls as you enter. You place your order directly at the counter, take a number, and your food is brought out to your table when it is ready. The menu is quite large, and it took a bit of time to decide on my order, but I ultimately went with a combo including a half ham wrap, a drink, and a side of pasta salad. The cashier was very good about openly telling everyone in line about price differences from the printed menu before ordering. Because the kitchen was experiencing a significant delay, it seemed like they quietly upgraded me to a whole wrap as a nice peace offering! It came cut into two parts, with one part wrapped neatly in foil. Personally, I really wish they offered a "build your own" option where you could just choose your own specific bread, meat, cheese, and toppings, rather than having to hunt through the large preset menu options to find a combination where you like everything. I was really surprised by how incredibly small the side portion of pasta salad was--about the size of a standard salad dressing container! I've honestly never seen a side dish served that small before, so I posted a photo of the two side by side to show the exact comparison. Next time, I would skip the combo entirely and just order the sandwich on its own. The ham wrap itself was really good, and the small bite of pasta salad was very tasty. However, it did take quite a bit longer than it should have for the food to leave the kitchen, so this slow wait time could definitely be an issue for someone on a tight lunch schedule.

The layout features a great mix of counter seating, booths, and standard tables, along with a nice outside patio. I really enjoyed the artwork on the walls and the view of the open kitchen. While they don't officially have a mocktail menu, they were more than happy to mix up a non-alcoholic version of any cocktail they offer; I went with the basil berry, and it was fantastic! For my meal, I ordered the grilled cheese sandwich on sourdough and added a side of mac 'n' cheese. Yes, it was an absolute mountain of cheese, but that mac 'n' cheese was so incredibly cheesy and delicious! I didn't realize initially that customers are supposed to pick up their own silverware and napkins from a station, but when my order was brought out, the server realized I didn't know and kindly brought a fork and napkin right to my table.
