The seafood mofongo with white sauce was just what i was looking for it was a creamy almost alfredo texture but super garlicky. Chaotic ambiance but it's lawrence if you know you know. In my opinion i loved the loud music because it drowned everyone else out and you could talk about anything.

As a fellow Dominican I loved being able to have a brunch at a place that feels like home on the island. The music and atmosphere are fun and comfortable and perfect for going out with a couple of friends or eating with a big group. The drinks were amazing and the food was incredible. The authentic Dominican cooking makes me miss home and I'm glad I have a place to get food of this quality here. Definitely would recommend!

I am glad that GirlsNight was at this location. Food was tasty Drinks were Amazing Atmosphere was lit. I definitely enjoyed my time here, and will come again. Social distancing was minimally enforced by not allowing more than 6 ppl per table. Since I have been venturing out into this post Covid attacked World. I sometimes feel like businesses have had to figured out how to continue to thrive. Mamajuanas was not the case. Since food and drinks are up to par. People follow! Yes, I know that going out we have to be cautious. None the less, it was a weekend I came by and location was packed. Thanks to the staff that was able to keep up with the fast pace while still providing good service.

Great place, food is delicious but the staff gives you special treatment if the owner is around or if you speak Spanish.

Great new place in Lawrence. Good service and attentive staff. Food was flavorful, well prepared and presented. Manager even stopped by for a chat. Lively atmosphere. Must leave space for " café cubano" dessert.

Great spot to go with friends or family! Delicious food. Great customer service and now with COVID-19 it has more than enough space for social distancing!

This place is beautiful and the service is exceptional. We found out they had just opened and went to check it out! We were pleased by our experience and exceptional service. Thank you for a lovely night out.

The ambiance, food and most importantly service were all phenomenal! In my travels I have certainly learned to appreciate quality and Mamajuana's surely exemplifies quality. Ashley was amazing....she knew the menu and was able to describe dishes using verbiage that you could almost taste. The food runners were also very pleasant and accommodating. Our table was never cluttered and fresh ice and drinks were always available. I have never given a 5 star review however, Mamajuana's is a solid 5 PLUS! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Paella and beer.

I like the music they played. You have the choice of indoor or outdoor dining. I sat outside because of the nice weather. I ordered paella. It was on the pricey side but I heard good things about it. Other reviews said this was a Dominican restaurant but on Yelp it was listed as Spanish. The taste of the paella was good but not spectacular. It would have been nice if it were served on a paella pan. If I go back I will order something else. The beer was ice cold. That's how I like it.

Place charges a card svc (service charge) for using a DEBIT CARD in the restaurant rediculas!

Pollo Tipico - Tostones, fried pork

After a long afternoon of shopping, my friends and I built up and appetite. We wanted something…read morequick that would calm our hunger for the drive home to RI. One of my friends was more familiar with the area and recommended we come here. She ordered a plate of fried pork with tostones, some guisado de res, and white rice. The total was around $20 which was fair for the portion sizes. The guisado was a bit oily but the flavor was really good and the meat was very tender. Since the tostones did not come with a sauce, we ended up dunking them in the guisado. The tostones were on the thicker side but crispy and tasty. The fried pork was good, although maybe a little bland. The lime helped a little bit with bringing out the flavor. The white rice was good. They offer a small, medium, and large portion - small was good as a snack for 3 people. I would come back and try more of their menu items. They have a parking lot, but it was packed and the snow didn't help. There is also street parking. It is in a lively part of town, so I enjoyed people watching while eating in the car.

This is a family owned Dominican restaurant that serves a variety of typical homestyle dishes. The…read morespace is pretty big. There's a large dining/ bar area and a takeout side with a few tables. We ordered the sancocho and rabo guisado (Oxtails), with white rice and plantains. The sancocho was pretty good. It had a lot of meat and vegetables, the white rice was perfectly cooked. I thought the sancocho had a bit too much garlic in the seasoning, but it was still great, especially since it was rainy and a bit chilly. The Oxtails were simply amazing! They were extremely tender and practically falling off the bone. The sauce was seasoned perfectly and paired well with the white rice. I've never had Oxtails this good at a restaurant. They tasted just like when mom recipe takes hours and hours to make since you want to cook it long enough for the meat to become tender. The service was very friendly and attentive, the food came pretty quickly. Prices were very reasonable. If I'm back in the area, I will definitely return and order the Oxtails.

I'm glad they were open until 1am, but the kitchen does close around 11, so be mindful. The ambiance is definitely latin influenced and reminded me of restaurants in latin-america. Hip light fixtures and Romeo Santos playing in the background. A good place for a date. We got the pollofongo with salsa roja, and chicken Alfredo. Personally, I would've enjoyed my dish more if it was one bigger piece of chicken instead of two thin-sliced chicken breasts. I thought the thinness made it a little dry. I've never had mofongo before. I liked the plantain on the side, but also thought it was a little dry. I wasn't a huge fan of how smoky the Alfredo was, but it was fine. It seems like boxed penne, and they're not a pasta restaurant, so no qualms with that. We got the flancocho for dessert and I thought it was delicious! The chili mango margarita with tajín on the rim was huge! It got the job done. Definitely worth the price. Finally, I loved the staff. Very kind women who spoke Spanish which is always nice to hear. I believe our server was Anny, thank you Anny.

The tables were tiny - barely had room for two and we were a party of 3. Parking was a pain as the streets were closed for some festival. Found metered street parking about a third of a mile away after about 15 minutes of looking. Wouldn't return.

We ordered two this time - the Full Three Carne and the Venezolana and I would get exactly this combo again - so good! The texture on the Cachapas is perfection and they are generously filled for the price. Note that there is a lot of cheese in the Venezolana! we brought home leftovers of both between two of us. Also shown in the pictures is a very tasty passionfruit juice. Service was helpful and friendly and the space is large, clean, and conveniently located on Essex Street. I wanted to try out their featured dish as I've never heard of Cachapas. All I can say is wow! This dish was very tasty, filling and well made. The portions were generous as you won't be left hungry! The staff was more then friendly and priced well for the amount of food you get. I even had a drink I've not had in almost two decades, again, did not disappoint. "Mori soňanado" was a Dominican drink I grew up with and brought back memories for sure. Both the wife and I had the featured dish, she went with ham and cheese, while I went all out with the pernil (pork). Which is stuffed with all the trimmings, The place was very clean and the Latin ambience was on point with their menu. If you're interested in great and fast food, please try them out.
