Best burrito in Colorado yet! Came here at the suggestion of a friend for the California burrito. We thought the burrito was a little pricey (paid almost $20 for a burrito), but it was worth it! It was on the larger side and lasted me two meals. The tortilla was delicious, and so was the steak! There is a sauce bar on the side, and I enjoyed the green sauce. It was busy on a Sunday, and the tables were pretty full with people. We got our burritos to go. Immediately after our meal, we texted our friends that they should check this place out! This place is awesome! I happened to hear about this place from a foodie group and when checking it out on Yelp, it was clear that many people agreed that the California burrito here is one of the best in Colorado. As a burrito mega fan, I had to check it out and geez am I ecstatic I did! The food took a while to come out and I couldn't be happier about it. They are clearly proud of making everything from scratch. I walked back to the bathroom and passed the kitchen which was wide open for everyone to see (a huge plus for me when I go to a restaurant), and it was clear that everything was being made to order. The burrito tasted so fresh and everything in there just worked well together. The tortilla was nicely crisped, the meat was delicious, there was just the right amount of guac, cheese, and everything else. It was awesome! The salsa bar also had great some great salsa. I was a fan of the red salsa. The price is reasonable at $15.99 as well. It is well worth it! I can't wait to get my California burrito fix again at Mamacita's. I love mamacitas! Federal has so many great taco places and mamacitas does not disappoint. The birria tacos were my personal favorite. The birria was tender and moist. The shells were crispy and somehow cooked so perfectly that they didn't get soggy! A true feat for birria tacos. A friend of mine is a connoisseur of California burritos and she was very happy with mamacitas'. The interior was of the restaurant was clean and welcoming. This is my new favorite burrito joint! We got the Colorado burrito. It's huge. Delicious. I might ask for no or light on the beans next time though. I just don't like beans in general and the burrito would be filling enough for me without it. And honestly, half was plenty to fill me up. I'm glad I shared half of it. I would've loved more green chile. We tried all the salsas in the salsa bar, 2 green and 2 red. I really enjoyed the roasted jalapeño that had a little slice of cream cheese. The nice woman who took our order came to check on us and refilled our waters gave me an excellent tip. After she saw how much I was sweating and dying after eating my jalapeño (it was so fun!), she told me to sprinkle some salt on the lime and lick it. It worked like magic! Just like a tequila shot. I liked the pineapple fresca, it was served in a tall plastic cup. I'm curious to try the hot Cheetos burrito or torta and fries next time. They looked pretty good. There are enough tables to seat 24 people. The furniture and place is very clean and updated. From the outside, it looks like a dive but very nice inside. Parking is right in front. What a great little spot! The decor is tastefully done and seems like a mom and pop shop. We had the Colorado burrito and my son had the California burrito - both excellent and filling. We also had a pina aquafresca. While I couldn't find the chile relleno in my CO burrito, the other ingredients were delicious. I think it ended up in the half my wife ate. The tortillas were delicious and I love when they crisp two sides on the flattop. Do Not Miss the sauce bar! So many fun flavors to add to your meal. $14-16 burritos seems fair given the quality. Eating food from this restaurant was a really really phenomenal experience. I got the hot cheetos burrito (without sour cream) and my boyfriend got the birria burrito (without onion & cilantro) and we both absolutely housed our meals. Genuinely some of the best burritos i've had and i've had a lot! The meat was soooo well seasoned, every component of each dish was the right amount of salty, & the salsa verde was delicious and went perfectly with the burritos. The hot cheeto burrito felt gimmicky and fun (that's why I got it), but ended up being so unbelievably delicious and fun to eat that I was completely blown away. The crunch of the hot cheetos was there even though we had the food delivered, and the texture was such an incredible addition! The birria burrito was really nice with the consommé, definitely worth trying if you're a birria fan! The meat wasn't overly fatty which I definitely prefer. The fruit is so fresh and tasty... My absolute favorite was the watermelon! Just the way the flavors mixed with the lime and spices... the watermelon was by far the star of the show and I would come back for a full on watermelon bowl with chamoy, tajin, and lime juice! Hidden Gem!! This spot is right off of south Federal blvd. Stopped in for some deserts and was surprised by a legit dinner menu. The kiddos went in on the Mangonada and some fresh fruit with chili they were stoked. Me and the wifey went in on the Carne Asada Fries (delicious) and the Hot Cheeto Burrito.. I love visiting mom & pop places all around town. This was quite a nice find. I opted for a California burrito. The price is high but this is a very girthy burrito stuffed with a lot of carne asada, easily two or three meals. The salsa bar is terrific and a much needed element in the burrito to introduce acidic balance as the elements of the burrito itself were quite heavy, though expertly cooked. I especially enjoyed the green salsa as a spice whimp. If I were to return, I'd opt for no french fries in the burrito or another menu item. They just make it too heavy for me. I wish there was a pico option to add some much needed freshness. To their merit, they thoughtfully griddle the burrito which makes a big difference. There is very friendly staff here and the inviting lobby is kept impeccably clean. read more

This place is absolutely perfect! Our family of five all like different things and someone usually has to compromise. Not here! They have burgers, breakfast, and authentic tortas and tacos. My middle-schooler ordered the Hot Cheetos Crunch burrito and it was artfully made. She devoured it. My youngest, who doesn't like spicy, ordered the avocado toast. It came on a sliced bolillo with bacon and queso fresco. Eggs on the side, along with an awesome avocado and cucumber salad. My spouse and I had tacos and they were perfect. They came with a fresh roasted jalapeño instead of the sliced, canned version. There were so many salsas to choose from at the salsa bar, as well. Finally got the opportunity to try the much praised Mangolada as well as the Chile Lime Fruit. Neither disappointed but the Mangolada was the undeniable favorite. Chunks of mango and icy, refreshing mango sorbet all swimming in that chile, lime and Tabasco reminiscent sauce. The chile lime fruit was a delicious, big portion, but had a lot of what seemed like cucumbers. Next time, we will probably stick to the mango chile option if that was the norm for the fruit mix. Delivered by Grubhub within about 40 minutes, I look forward to doing that again....soon. It is an addictive flavor explosion! This place is awesome. The Mangoneadas are perfect and best I've had. The Diablito was a bit to much for me (tasted like shaved ice with a gallon of tajin) but my daughters loved it. The only reason why I give it a 4 star is because they only accept cash. We might have missed a sign at the entrance but didn't see one anywhere inside and my husband had to drive to an ATM since we use credit card for everything.
