Smoked Salmon Avocado Toast with Anericano coffee
Astrida M.

HOT & NEW! Mamacita recently opened a month ago in the Edgewater district. A Miami open-air Latin restaurant that has really cool tropical decor in shades of green, apricot, terra cotta, and oak. We were warmly greeted at the entrance by a couple of hostesses and told to sit wherever we like. We chose the outdoors because it was a cool sunny day. They play house music with a Latin beat without being too loud. You can easily have a comfortable conversation. They have spacious outdoor and indoor dining. There is plenty of free self-parking in their private lot behind the restaurant, including wheelchair accessiblability. They have a great brunch menu. I ordered the Smoked Salmon Avocado Toast, which was deliciously fresh and tasty with crusty multi-grain bead. It was so good! My daughter ordered the Mamacita Breakfast with sunnyside up eggs and bacon and multi-grain toast. She said it was good. She had Creme Brulee coffee, which was very good and I had Americano coffee for less sugar. We were bad girls today and shared the Nutella pancake with strawberries and blueberries and all sorts of goodies in it! We each had a small slice and took the rest home. It was out of this world!! Our server was Yerlin, who was one of the best servers that we have come across lately! She was attentive, friendly and professional! We had an OMG brunch and definitely will be back for more.

We stumbled across this place and as soon as we read the menu realized that it had plenty of options to satisfy everyone in my group. The health conscious one was happy with the variety of fruits and smoothies and settled for the green juice which was fresh and delicious. The kids were happy with the HUGE portion of Nutella pancakes and the strawberry juice. We also ordered the cubano sandwich which was really yummy, came with perfectly cooked french fries and was perfect to share. Our waitress Miranda was very helpful and helped us decide what to order. She came back a few times to check on us and we chatted for a bit. She was happy to help my kids practice their Spanish when ordering their dishes. The location has a tropical vibe and ample seating. Definitely a place I would go back to.

Decided to give this spot a try since it's close to me. Located right on Biscayne, it's in a great location with easy access. I went for brunch and really enjoyed it the food was good and the atmosphere was nice.

The food was amazing, the portions are big and the service is outstanding! We tried the churrasco ciabatta which was really tasty, the fries were crispy and fresh! We also got the pistachio pancakes, definitely a showstopper and a must have but beware they are HUGE! Will definitely be coming back

Relaxing lunch today. Great South American/Columbian food. Best avocado toast! The Mamacita sandwich was delicious. Full bar with mojitos! Plenty of parking in back.

I came here for the first time and asked for an OJ and 2 pan dr bono To Go. I cant beleive i was charged an 18% service charge for this.. I thought this was a beighborhood restaurant, no tourist in your immediate area. Please revise this because i personally am never coming back. an OJ 2 pan de bono $15.75 lol. no wonder.you guys are emphty. then before paying asked the server to take that charge off because i was going to leave a tip on my own and he said i cannot take it off. So you have a unique POS system, the only one that doesn't allow someone to get the service charge off.

Also, be prepared for a lively atmosphere! It can get pretty loud once the wine starts flowing. Regardless, the food keeps me coming back. The food and service were both fantastic. It's definitely not flashy or overly fancy, but it had exactly the right vibe for my partner and me. We ordered the mollejas, empanadas de choclo, and skirt steak with fries and everything was a 10/10. I'm pretty picky when it comes to restaurants, especially when it comes to food quality, so I was genuinely impressed with everything we ordered. The mollejas were incredibly flavorful, and the empanadas were fresh and delicious. And then came the skirt steak... wow. Cooked to a beautiful medium, it was tender and packed with flavor. The fresh-cut fries were perfectly crispy on the outside and super fluffy on the inside. Our server, Flor, was an absolute doll. She was so sweet and attentive, and the rest of the staff was just as wonderful. They were constantly checking in, clearing plates as we finished, and our food came out quickly without ever feeling rushed. We absolutely loved the experience and would happily come back. Wishing this restaurant continued success. we're so glad we stopped in!

However, while the kitchen certainly delivered, the overall experience left a little to be desired. We visited on a Sunday evening, and the restaurant was surprisingly quiet, with maybe three or four tables occupied. Given its location in a more residential neighborhood, I can understand why it might not have the same bustling energy as other Miami dining spots. Still, I loved the waterfront patio and could easily imagine this being a fantastic place for a leisurely lunch or sunset cocktails. Service, unfortunately, was a little lackluster. Our waiter was pleasant enough, but seemed rather unenthused and more interested in taking our order than making recommendations or creating a welcoming dining experience. Nothing necessarily went wrong, but there was also nothing particularly memorable about the hospitality. Thankfully, the food was a different story. We started with the tuna tostada, sausage plate, and ceviche, all of which delivered on flavor. Each dish was well-executed, with distinct flavor profiles that made the appetizers a great start to the meal. For entrées, our table ordered the churrasco, pasta, and ropa vieja. The ropa vieja was easily the standout of my evening. It was one of those comforting, home-style dishes that instantly reminds you of a meal prepared by your mother or an elder in the family. Served with moro, sweet plantains, tostones, avocado, and pickled onions, every component felt intentional. I especially appreciated how the different textures and flavors complemented one another. Nothing felt like an afterthought, and together, it made for a beautifully balanced, satisfying plate. Dessert, however, didn't quite live up to the rest of the meal. We ordered the chocolate tiramisu, which was just okay. It was very chocolate-forward, as expected, but had that slightly stale, refrigerated taste that I personally dislike in tiramisu. It gave the impression that it had been sitting in the fridge a little too long, rather than tasting freshly prepared.

The service can be a little hit or miss depending on the visit, but overall I've had good experiences and keep coming back. One absolute standout for me was a pistachio cake bar I had on one of my visits. I'm actually not usually a fan of pistachio-flavored desserts, but this was OUTSTANDING. Completely changed my mind. Unfortunately, I believe it was seasonal and they no longer have it, but if it ever comes back, get it! Overall, Amara is a beautiful Miami spot with consistently good food, gorgeous views, and an atmosphere that makes it worth the splurge.

I've wanted to try CVI.CHE 105 for years after seeing it highly recommended in Facebook discussions…read moreabout Miami restaurants. We finally had the opportunity during our latest visit to Miami, and I'm glad we did. The restaurant has a really fun, eclectic atmosphere, with tropical greenery covering the ceiling, colorful decorative installations, and dramatic artwork. There is so much to look at! I especially liked the multicolored string art installation, which added color and movement to the center of the restaurant. We started with the Ceviche Nikkei Tartare, made with diced tuna marinated in Nikkei sauce, avocado, olive oil, seasonal vegetables, and quinoa pop, accompanied by homemade crackers. We really enjoyed this appetizer! It was fun to eat, with a great blend of flavors and contrasting textures. My husband ordered the Lomo Saltado, with tenderloin sautéed with onions, tomatoes, yellow peppers, and cilantro, served with crunchy French fries and white rice. The tenderloin was tender and had a good flavor. I especially love a dish that gives you French fries AND rice! The fries were really good, too. I ordered the Wagyu Nigiri, which came with two beautifully presented pieces topped with gold leaf. It was delicious! For dessert, we shared the Misti, a three-layer volcano-shaped dessert with lúcuma mousse, chocolate cookie crumble, and Suspiro Limeño, topped with meringue. We really enjoyed the different layers and textures. It was creamy, rich, dense, and quite filling! Our waitress was a real sweetheart. She patiently explained the different dishes and desserts, helping us decide what to order. We really appreciated her friendliness and willingness to answer our questions. Surprisingly, the restaurant didn't automatically add a 20% gratuity, as so many other restaurants in Miami do. It was refreshing to have the choice, even though we often tip more than that anyway. Between the delicious food, interesting presentations, lively atmosphere, and friendly service, we had a wonderful dinner. After wanting to try CVI.CHE 105 for so many years, it was especially satisfying to finally experience it, After dinner, we walked about 20 minutes to the end of Lincoln Road to walk off some of that delicious food!
