Food: I give this place a B+. The taste was fantastic, even the macaroni & cheese. My only issue was with the sides sizes. They are too small. If they gave about 1/2 cup more, it would be great. Service: A+. Friendly folks, just the right amount of attention. Ambiance: A. Cozy and charming.

At first glance we weren't sure if we were at the right place. I believe this restaurant had a different name up until recently. Nonetheless, the food was great and the service was equally the same. My main complaint is the portions could be bigger when factoring in the price. The ambience is dive bar-ish. The bathrooms could definitely be kept up with a little more. But if we're talking food and service this place passes with flying colors.

Jerk wings and Oxtails. I promise you it's delicious!!

Word of mouth carries a lot of weight for a lot of restaurants and Mama Joy is definitely one of those restaurants.Don't let the place deceive you. Looking for some good, down home, soul food then Mama Joy is the place. Delicious homemade soul food cooked by Mama Joy herself. Attending a conference for work, a co-worker and I ventured out to Mama Joy's Kitchen after hearing about it from another coworker who was visiting with family the week prior. She raved about how delicious the food was so I made a point to put it on my list of places to visit while in town. Finding it was a little difficult. My GPS took me slightly passed the entrance. Once I got there, I saw a sign out front in the grass but could not find the storefront with the same name. It's located in a little strip mall not too far from where we're staying, So we went in and asked if we were at the right location and we were. Nothing much to brag about on the inside as far as the decor, but you will get some of the best homemade soul food in the area. I ordered the oxtails and the jerk wings and my coworker ordered the meatloaf sandwich. I got a side of Lima beans and some cornbread and Everything was delicious. I mean delicious!! I will definitely be sharing this gem of a place with others so they can try for themselves. Mama Joy stepped from behind the kitchen as we were preparing to leave and introduced herself to us. Sweet lady who we thanked so much for the meal. We told other patrons good night and went home belly full.

Food was great. Piping hot and seasoned to perfection. More than enough food for now and some for later too.

The food and the customer service was excellent. Been a while since I've had comfort food that taste like a authentic homemade meal. The Oxtails fell off the bone and don't get me started on the gravy! My husband got the meatloaf which he said was the best he's had. My son got the Chicken fettuccine. We will definitely be back!

    Oxtails over rice!

They brought out water and we ordered a bottle of wine. They have a pretty good wine selection. We both decided to do the 3 course for $45. I ordered the Ceaser salad and hubby got the Al Dente Salad. Both were good and lettuce was fresh. I chose the Chicken Parm with Linguine. It was a solid 4 out of 5 stars. The breading was good & it was baked with cheese melted over top. I deducted 1 star because the sauce was a tad bit too salty for my preference, but overall it was good. I would consider ordering this again here. Hubs got the Lasagna Rollatini with Sunday Ragout. I thought it looked very good but I don't eat beef, so I didn't try it. Hubs thought it was good. For dessert I ordered the Lemon Marscapone cake, which was delicious. It had great flavor but was not overly sweet. The marscapone icing was light and creamy. I would definitely order that again. My hubby doesn't typically care for lemon desserts, but he tried a couple of bites and was impressed. Hubs ordered the Italian Cheesecake and it was delicious as well. We both enjoyed it. Our service was outstanding and the person who brought out the wine was fringe and helpful as well. Hubby typically likes bread with his meal but we didn't order any. Next time we will have to try it.

A fun experience to shop the family owned kind of business and oldest grocery store on the island!…read more They have great local food favorites and also have super souvenir items. It's a fun place with their local series Tshirts and wearables, etc. The food is fresh and awesome! I was noticing today how much better their produce was than the big box store I shopped yesterday! They also didn't have boiled peanuts from a local favorite vendor at the big box store - but they had it here at the piggly wiggly! Did I mention the personal Servce? That differed from the box store too. Yesterday at the big box grocery store - I had a grumpy attendant who made me move lines because she was getting ready to shut her line down. She wasn't pleasant and was sorta rude about it - but at the piggy wiggly we were met with friendly folks all around. I noted that they really have the local feel including a care fund for a local customer who has health issues and also support of a charity event that provides food and health care for underprivileged children. I always prefer locally owned places when I can find them and I'm glad I stopped by - we will be back!

This is a cute and friendly grocery store that seemed very popular with both locals and visitors…read more It's a great spot to pick up souvenirs, snacks, chips, drinks, produce, meats, and other essentials. If you've forgotten any beach supplies like, sunscreen, beach toys, or towels, this is a convenient place to stop. Compared to larger chains like Publix, Piggly Wiggly tends to be more affordable, making it a practical choice for quick shopping without breaking the bank. It's located closer to Coligny Beach Park, so if you're staying in the area, it's definitely worth a visit. It's a smaller chain, but they have a good selection and a friendly atmosphere.
