Bad tummy ache after eating the fried seafood platter. Only the fish tasted good. Everything else was old. Cole slaw was bad. Fries were cold and not edible. I didn't see any hush puppies. The key lime pie was not good. Huge disappointment. My meal was $50. I think the bar is a good place to hang out and get drinks but I would not try the food again. The service was good. Also, if you like Villanova, this is the place to be! I had to give it one star bc of the stomachache. Stabbing pain. I don't know if I should try urgent care. I'm def going to a pharmacy.

Let me just tell you that Tristan is a phenomenal server! He kept checking on us and was very attentive! The Owner, I think her name is Vicky, was also amazing! My husband had the steam pot and I had the blackened tacos. So good! Will go back!

Great small restaurant with delicious seafood and super nice staff! Full bar inside and a lovely lit outdoor seating area as well. The outdoor area was great to enjoy the mild weather here in December. Our server, Emily, was the sweetest thing. She recommended the she crab soup which was divine! The food was super yummy and you could tell the seafood was fresh too! Will definitely come back here next time I'm in the area!

Gale Warning - Myers Rum, citrus Rum, pineapple, orange, & lime juice. Pretty tasty!

The restaurant has a nice ambiance, especially for date nights, or to just hang with friends. It's laid back. The food tasted good and was freshly made and we didn't have to wait long. They delivered service with a smile, although the garlicky shrimp was a lot smaller than advised, for the price ($16) & for our appetites. My husband ended up ordering another entrée, the Seafood Dinner for $28, which included grouper and 2 sides (pictured). It was good.

Service was horrible, management can only be explained as being drunk, and the food seemed cleaner if it were still in the ocean.

We were lucky to get seated outside because the live music and views were immaculate. The oysters were super fresh.. so fresh in fact we found a little crab in one of them. We got it replaced promptly by our friendly waiter for a new one! I got the scallop risotto. It was good but not my favorite. The sauce was creamy but somewhat bland, which allowed for the perfectly cooked scallops to shine. My mom got the seafood pasta which was fantastic and flavorful. We met the manager who made the effort to talk to and get to know us! If we are back in Hilton Head, we will be back here!

The high-tops outside are great because they're completely covered, while the tables with umbrellas still get sun depending on where the sun is. They have several powerful fans outdoors plus the seating is comfortable with a great view of the trees, boat, and water. The crab punch cocktail was good, but the crab coconut rum tasted a little odd to me (their exclusive brand). I preferred the salty Chihuahua cocktail. All drinks are thankfully strong (everywhere else on the island they were weak). The Jalapeño hush puppies seem like they are made in-house, and they're very flavorful & crunchy. The hush puppies came with honey butter which was also amazing. The lunch grilled grouper fish taco was delicious & fresh. The salsa on it was very flavorful! The house-made potato chips are also great. Service was great (not rushed). They do need drink coasters (water was all over the table). We came back for dinner. They had live music. Abby& Taylor were the two different servers we had and they were both amazing. They did not rush us. The fried green tomatoes were very good with lots of pimento cheese and crunchy unlike the ones we had at Old Oyster Factory. The pineapple Mojito was good. Overall great experience!

It doesn't feel corporate or manufactured at all. More like you've stumbled into somebody's lovingly chaotic backyard dinner party where the food just happens to be genuinely top-tier. The mismatched charm, handwritten feel, and warm atmosphere are part of what makes it so special. There's this brilliant contrast between the laid-back hole-in-the-wall vibe and the seriously refined cooking coming out of the kitchen. We started with the fried green tomatoes which were incredibly tender, fried perfectly, and drizzled with a lovely house-made ranch. The sweet house pickles alongside were such a good touch. We also each had a cup of she crab soup which was beautifully seasoned and packed with tonnes of crab morsels. For mains, we shared the shrimp and grits and completely understood why the recipe has won awards, including being recognised as the 3rd best in the world. The recipe is rooted in traditional Lowcountry cooking but elevated with layers of flavour that somehow still feel comforting and homemade. The grits were unbelievably creamy, and the shrimp and sausage were perfectly cooked with fantastic flavour throughout. We also split the seafood purloo with blackened grouper, and it was equally impressive. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted incredibly fresh without trying too hard to be fancy. What really made the experience though was the staff. Everyone went above and beyond. They took time to chat with us about the area, paced the courses perfectly so nothing felt rushed, and by the end we were leaving with handshakes feeling more like guests than customers. Places like this are getting harder to find. We'll absolutely be back and would recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Lowcountry food served by genuinely wonderful people.

Was expecting…read moreto be blown awhile, but unfortunately, my family and I left thinking the food here was just okay. Started off with the May River Blue Crab Dinner, which came packed with crab! This was good - warm, creamy, and slightly cheesy. It came with tortilla chips and pita bread - tasted better with the tortilla chips IMO. We all decided to share the potato chip meatloaf sandwich, low country boil (for 1), and seafood parlor (with blackened fish). Overall, all these entrees were just okay. The meatloaf was too mashed for my liking and had decent flavor. It was essentially a large chunk of meat sandwich between two slices of thin pita bread. The seafood parlor was good, and came with a decent amount of shrimp, sausage, and blackened fish. The red rice was slightly overcooked, but all the protein was cooked nicely. I could have done without the sweet chili sauce. The low country boil was plenty for 1 or to share. Service was good, especially with the restaurant being constantly busy.

The location itself is absolutely beautiful, sitting right on the water with an enormous amount of outdoor seating. We decided to sit inside at the bar, which had huge floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the water, and we were even lucky enough to spot a couple of dolphins playing nearby. The first thing I noticed when we sat down was the massive selection of oysters displayed on ice. Even better, it was happy hour and all oysters were half off, so naturally I ordered a dozen and let the bartender choose the best ones for me. Every single one was fresh and delicious. We also shared a she-crab soup that was packed with flavor and had the perfect texture. Earlier in the trip we had ordered she-crab soup somewhere else and it was watery and disappointing, so this one definitely made up for it. The restaurant was pretty quiet during the daytime, although the bartender mentioned it gets much busier at night. Before leaving, we walked outside along the dockside of the building toward the front and saw the massive covered outdoor seating area overlooking the water. It definitely feels like the kind of place that comes alive at night, and I wouldn't be surprised if they have live music as well. Definitely recommend checking this place out if you're in the area.

Nothing we ordered really stood out. I know it's called the Old Oyster Factory, but we didn't order any. We mainly in because it was on the Island Bucks list. The fried green tomatoes had a good flavor, though the plate looked sparse with only three pieces. A fourth would have made the dish seem more complete. The flounder sandwich was under-seasoned and the "fresh fruit" did not live up to its name. The calamari came as small rings that were kind of chewy rather than crisp. Although not a lump crab crab cake it was mostly crab and had a good flavor. It was served with a scoop of potatoes and broccolini. The broccolini was very limp and had absolutely no flavor. We heard it's a great place to catch the sunset, but based on our meal, we would more than likely not visit again.
