Mama D's hits every time they just do everything so well. The service is always exceptional, their identity is to treat everyone like family and they really walk the walk. I love their lasagna - they keep some tomato chunks in the sauce, and it's a little less layered than your typical lasagna. So good. Also had their baked ziti and it's a banger. You gotta put respect on the name. Mama D takes your more ordered menu item and takes it to the next level. Can't wait for my next trip.

We ordered from mama D's this weekend for takeout. When I arrived to pick up our order, the restaurant was very packed so I was excited to try the food. We ordered the lasagna, the short rib, ravioli, and the garlic knots. I am giving three stars because we were highly disappointed in the portion sizes. Typically, when we order this amount of food at an Italian restaurant, we don't expect to finish it in one sitting, and we did. Perhaps we need to try it in person but for the cost of the short rib ravioli, it was very disappointing to see how tiny the portion was. The lasagna was average, I can't say it was better or worse than most lasagnas that I have had. However, the short rib ravioli was very tasty. It seems the reviews are high here, so we will probably give it another shot and go in person next time

If I could ten stars I would! The service here is absolutely amazing! I really couldn't even begin to explain how much we enjoyed our dinner here. We came in a big group for my brother's birthday and we were all taken care of perfectly. They even passed out samples of their popular dishes. The pink sauce was bomb and the cheese pizza was great. The owner came out and he was hilarious! We ended up getting one of the specials and weren't a fan of it so we sent it back. We weren't expecting anything but they ended up bringing out a dish for us! We can't wait to be back to try more of their food!

So we celebrated my husband's daughters' birthday and she loves Italian and so I suggested this place and she was excited to go cause she's never been. She loved it ... we loved it. We got the Red carpet treatment from The partner Anton... our waiter Gerson was fabulous and gave sincere recommendations! The food came so fast. We had all the items pictures plus an appetizer given due to her birthday. Anton and a lady server even sang the birthday song to her. We love this place. Thank you to the other owner for encouraging me to come to this brand new location In Torrance!!

PHENOMENAL service, this place was a delight. You walk in and are immediately greeted with free bread. Then you can play a game to win a free meal. The woman behind us actually won! Our server was above and beyond, made the whole experience so fun. My eggplant Parmesan with pink sauce was sooooo good I cannot overstate how delicious it was. When they bring your food out, they come out with a bucket of shredded Parmesan cheese to top it!! Small but relevant detail: the fountain drinks were crisp and delicious. I'm a Coke snob, and it was a great beverage. The design of the place is welcoming, lots of art or things on the wall to look at. I'm really excited to have found a new regular spot. Can't wait to work my way through the menu :)

I had high hopes for Mama D's but felt it was just basic... and didn't really stand out from other Italian restaurants in the area. I ordered takeout on Door Dash last month. We shared the garlic knots (they were very tough), Rusty's baked ziti (just okay), Chicken Mama D's with penne (not flavorful and super bare). I think what disappointed me most was they forgot to include the added large meatball to my order (which I paid for). When we got home and realized it was missing from the order, I called to see if they would refund the meatball charge. the girl took my info and said she would call her manager to have it refunded. It was never resolved. Can't say it impressed me enough to want to come back sadly. Hopefully, they'll have better luck in this location since we have seen many restaurants come and go in that spot.

10000000/10 Mama D's is such a wonderful spot with a warm, cozy ambience that immediately makes you feel at home. The service was outstanding, Aurora was incredibly attentive, friendly, and made the entire experience feel special. The lasagna ravioli was absolutely delicious and easily the best dish, rich, comforting, and perfectly made. Great food, amazing service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend. I only got a picture of the bread because the food was so good that I didn't get a chance to take a picture.

We stumbled upon Mama D's while in the area and decided to give it a try after seeing all the great reviews on Yelp -- and wow, it totally lived up to the hype. This place is a gem! We ordered the lasagna and frankie's fried ravioli. Everything came out quickly, hot, and clearly made with love. The lasagna was rich and cheesy, the frankies were packed with flavor, and the fried raviolis were the perfect crispy bite to start with. Everything tasted homemade, comforting, and just really well done. The service was fantastic -- friendly, attentive, and welcoming without being overbearing. You can tell they take pride in what they do, and it shows both in the food and the atmosphere. Price-wise, it's very reasonable for the quality you get. Honestly, I don't have a single complaint. The only thing I wish? That this place was closer to home -- I'd be here all the time. Perfect for a casual date night or a dinner out with friends. If you're anywhere I this area, I would definitely check it out.

Mama D's in Redondo Beach just up and disappeared but I've found Mama. Located inside Rolling Hills Plaza Torrance CA Mama D's is a perfect combination of homestyle Italian restaurant and an moderately upscale restaurant that you wouldn't mind going for all occasions. The food was scrumptious. I just loved loved their Chicken Mama D's. Bite size Chicken Fillet Sautéed in a White Wine Butter Sauce with Mushrooms, Onions, and Bell Peppers. Our server Victor recommended the angel hair pasta. I placed my trust in his recommendation and it paid off. The thin pasta went well with the White Wine Butter Sauce, sopping up just enough to complement the tender bite size chicken pieces. This was my favorite dish by far. We also spit a bowl of Minestrone Soup. A light vegetable rich soup without beans (the way I like it). The baked clams were so so. Too much breading and too small clams but the butter garlic sauce that it was baked in was excellent. Victor, our server was personable and made our dining experience a good one. Actually everyone at Mama D's made us comfortable and felt right at home. Next time? PIZZA!!

I can't wait to come back lol. I love a short rib ravioli AND a brown butter sage sauce and they happened to have this on special! It was delicious! A little pricey but worth it. The complimentary bread is also so tasty! I think we had two baskets lol and I probably could have had more.

Joey's Caesar Salad - plate is kind of small, but good enough to share.

I've always wanted to try Mama D's and happened to be in the area here! It seemed like they just opened this location, so I was excited to try it. Parking is plentiful and very easy to park. We ate here for Mothers Day weekend and we came here quite early for dinner around 5pm. There were plenty of available seats at that time so we were about to get seated, until the employee upfront told us that there's a game that we can play while they set up the table haha. It's a fun way to pass the time, cause I really got persistent in trying to get it to 10 seconds for that free meal hahah. They also offered us garlic bread! Once we were seated, they actually offered even more garlic bread. They have an extensive menu, luckily not too overwhelming, but I ended up having us to order the caesar salad, pink sauce pasta, and a cheese pizza with pepperoni, sausage, and bell peppers. They do charge for each topping, which is pretty unfortunate, but that is how you would be able to 'customize' your own pizza. It didn't take too long for our order to be prepared. Everything was actually quite efficient. The boss(?) was there checking around all customer tables, snapping at the servers to hurry, which I lowkey feel bad for the workers lol, but trying to gain the best experience for the customers. I saw he was even doing a card game with another table behind haha. Anyways, onto the food, the caesar salad was pretty standard, nothing too special, but pretty nice to have to balance all the carbs. The pink sauce pasta was quite good! The pasta they use is large as well, so it soaks up all the nice good pink sauce with it. The pizza might be my parents favorite. Crust was perfect, it wasn't too burnt, the cheese was cheesing, and the toppings were pretty fresh. Everything was pretty tasty here. The serving portions here are a bit smaller (or at least enough for 1 serving) ompared to family syle servings, but luckily we weren't too hungry so it wasn't definitely enough for all of us. The service was so quick, they already brought our check and to-go boxes as we were still eating lol. We ended up paying in cash to get 10% off, but they somehow got mixed up with our cash and gave us less change. I was worried we were gonna have to start an argument since we were having a nice experience, but the boss came and admitted that he had miscounted our check. Everything was all well in the end. Overall, this is a nice restaurant, great food, and emphasizes on the core value of FAMILY. It atmosphere honestly reminds me of Bucca di Beppo, but in a modern fashion. Food is better here too.

I just found my new favorite spot for Italian cuisine in the South Bay! I spotted Mama's D's the other day at Rolling Hills Plaza and I instantly made plans to eat here. I've always wanted to try Mama D's and I am so excited that they now have a Torrance location. The service was excellent from the start. They instantly brought out some complimentary Focaccia bread and olive oil dipping sauce. I loved the warm, soft bread topped with Parmesan. It was the perfect starter. We chose to get the Sammie's Stuffed Mushrooms ($13.99) for our appetizer. This came with seven fresh mushrooms filled with a tiny mushrooms, seasoned bread crumbs, fresh herbs and topped with mozzarella cheese. This appetizer was so flavorful. The mozzarella topping added a nice cheesy touch. Being a mushroom fan; I enjoyed this appetizer very much. For our main course, we got Mama D's Famous Pink Sauce with Angel Hair Pasta ($22.99) with a large homemade meatball ($4.99). Wow! I can see why the pink sauce is famous. The pink sauce is amazingly creamy. They make it out of fresh grated Parmesan cheese and cream blended with marinara sauce. They don't skimp on the sauce and the angel hair pasta was richly smothered with the wonderful pink sauce. The homemade meatball was huge and hearty. They have a sign at the restaurant that says "At Mama D's Diet Starts Tomorrow" and I can tell you this pasta was worth every calorie. It was a true treat! Our meal here ended with them giving us some complimentary chocolate chip cookies. The cookies were freshly baked and warm. They were soft and the chocolate chips were delightfully gooey and messy. It was the perfect dessert to end a wonderful meal! I absolutely loved my first visit to Mama D's and I know it will not be my last! I hope to be back to try some of their lunch specials. (Lunch specials are around the $16.99 price range- what a deal!) Lastly, I wanted to mention that if you pay cash you will get 10% off your bill! I love Mama D's! The food is amazing and the service is top notch.

Step through Mama D's front door and start a delicious journey ahead, filled with flavor, fun, and memorable bites.

Like most French bistro they have a shorter but traditional menu, with the usual suspects - onion soup, pate, escargot, charcuterie board, mussels, steak frites, Bouillabaisse - but what drew us in was the duck confit cassoulet. We have eaten cassoulet in Carcasonne, the home of cassoulet, and this was definitely worthy of the name. Gamey, savoury, duck falling off the bone, beans swimming in an umami broth, definitely lip lickingly good. However the vegetarian cassoulet was not as flavourful, it was nice, but needed more garlic, pepper, some herbs or seasoning, a little more oomph. The fennel was delish, but the beans bordering on bland and there was very little broth to dip my baguette into. With a belly full of beans we decided to order dessert because why not! Life is short, eat dessert, c'est la vie. Creme brulee was creamy with a tappingly good sugar crust, and the chocolate mousse had a nice consistency but was overwhelmed by cinnamon, which was a pity. It was definitely worth the visit for the Duck cassoulet, and we will visit again to try the onion soup and moules.

For you see, as I passed the outside of the Artistry a comedian/MC stopped me and explained that the spot was having a comedy night. Truth be told, comedy shows are simply not my choice of sport. However, the MC tried to convince me of the value of the show with an honest attempted that I respected. And thus I paid the 5.00 dollars and entered, I was ready to laugh and hope that the comedians would fulfill the hope. Additionally, entering the Artistry would provide me a lounge to wait for my friend that was coming to pick me up, in about an hour or so. As soon, as I entered the Artistry I was pleasantly surprised. It was a cool, inviting, elegant spot that was hidden from sight. It is the type of place that you only find when the winds of chance whisk you into a moment that impact and build your life. I will be the first one to admit that the winds of chance did not take me to Oz from Kansas, but they did take me to a welcome respite of people and opportunity. And at a more grounded level, I know now where to go if I have a wine-friend visit or I need a non-rowdy bar for peace and quiet. The place is a mash-up of modern appliances, contemporary art and pieces from days gone by. It is both eclectic and like a backyard sale of a Hollywood starlet. She accumulated trophies and bobbles of worth and next to the mat they are displayed on, you also see the junk she accumulated thought-out her life. In one of my pictures I show a tv that played maybe operatic music. It was signing with word that hit a deep range. This picture also has one of those fans that no longer have blades. The wind comes from an oval shape--- modern science. Another picture shows a Native American picture with a full headdress. It would be dynamic on a runway. Another picture shows a painting that seemed to be one of those famous food stills. So yeah, the collection that makes up the them decor is broad. I can only describe it as a wine cellar that was decorated by three friends, each of them with their own style. The friends were also young, like early 20s, so their taste and vision had not crystallized within them so there was no way they could take their three styles and make it one song in the same key. I also noticed that the menu had the word with misspelled. The typo added to the magic and hodgepodge of the place. Maria who works there, was a gem, a treasure, and the Hope diamond. I twisted my ankle a bit and it hurt to move, hence the stroll around town and not a hike to reach a top. I asked her to pour me a glass of water because I was sitting down, and getting up to reach the table, would make the pain amp up. She served me water and I apologized for being too needy as a customer who had become a patient. She then asked me if she could move the table closer to me. I said yes. She struggled a bit to move a table that looked like barrel, with a glass atop, and seemed to be full of wine corks, but it might have been just a layer that suggested fullness. She still managed to push the table. Now I could easily stretch and drink water. I thanked her for her work and kindness. And she said something so beautiful at it is core: I am here to serve. Thank you Maria for being of service. I ordered a fruity wine. I am not a wine drinker. The server suggested that one. Once I tasted it, it tasted like juice. The server compared it to a Capri Sun. Yeah, it kind of was. Then I drank more and I did not like it. I asked myself why? Like what specifically made me not like this wine? And all I could come up with was, "it tasted cheap." I felt bad for just describing something as cheap without further detail. Then I saw the bill. The wine was only 10.00 dollars. So it was a cheap wine. I mean right now, given inflation, what cocktail or pour is less than 10:00 dollars? A cheap one. And when I say cheap it does not mean that it lacks richness or attire from a brand name store. When I say that it is cheap I mean that it did not have depth of experience. It was cheap in the way that cheap perfume is, it does not have a layered complicated presence or scent and what it offers is lack of nuance, personality, hype and posture. Like cheap furniture, it's promise and function are soon broken. I would go here and try other wines. And who knows maybe one day I will find one that makes me a wine convert.

We arrived around 7:30-7:45 PM without a reservation and were seated within about 15 minutes. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating, and we decided to sit inside. The atmosphere was nice, and both our waitress and waiter were friendly and helpful. Overall, I thought the service was great. For drinks, I ordered the Karate Kid, upgraded with the handcrafted ice cube and smoked, and the White Lotus. The Karate Kid was excellent--very smooth and well balanced, and definitely my favorite of the 2. Unfortunately, the White Lotus was pretty underwhelming. It tasted like a watered-down sour drink, and I could barely taste the alcohol. We started with the Peruvian scallops and BBQ oysters. The scallops were one of the highlights of the night. They were served with a mango cube in each, which added a refreshing sweetness that paired surprisingly well with the scallops. The BBQ oysters, on the other hand, weren't really for me. The sauce and seasoning overpowered the natural flavor of the oysters, and I personally prefer preparations that allow the oyster itself to be the star. For our entrees, we ordered the short rib pappardelle, king crab roll, and New York strip. The short rib pappardelle was easily my favorite dish of the night. The short rib was incredibly tender, the pasta was cooked perfectly, and the flavors were rich without being overwhelming. Everything complemented each other really well. The New York strip was slightly more cooked than I would have preferred and a little salty, but it was still enjoyable. The king crab roll was decent, although I found it somewhat bland and wished it had a little more flavor. Overall, I had a really enjoyable experience. There were a few hits and misses, but the dishes that stood out were excellent, the service was great, and I thought the pricing was very reasonable for the overall experience. I would definitely come back and try more of the menu.
