Spaghetti with meatballs. It weighed well over a pound.
Danny L.

The spaghetti with meatballs was delicious and huge. It easily was over a pound. Also, the pizza slice was amazing. It's Sicilian style and packed with flavor. I could really taste the herbs and spices. The owner had greeted me each visit and seemed like a nice, down to earth guy.

Yummers! The perfect pepper and egg.
Hellene D.

Always a difficult time attempting to find a restaurant that makes a pepper and egg sandwich, let alone a good one. Enter, Mama D's. In my hunt I realized nearby Mama D's is the place to go! Whereas the rest of my family chowed down on sushi. I went with my fave Friday night dish that I know never disappoints! The egg was cooked perfectly, solid and not slimy. The included peppers had just the right bite without being either too raw nor too mushy. The added mozzarella was just the right amount. THE perfect pepper and egg! The cheese fries were nothing to write home about, but the cheese was delicious! Any fry is a new fry when cheese is involved! Whereas I did not pick it up I was told the establishment had a great old school Italian food kind of vibe. Next time I will pick it up myself! I will return to Mama D's and plan on trying more of their food!

Membrane removed from "ribeye" yea right!
Janice R.

Quite disappointed! I ordered the ribeye steak sandwich on garlic toast w/onion rings. For starters I'm so glad I asked to have mayo added cause babbbeeeee when I say dry I mean DRY! I have NEVER had a ribeye steak that was not only dry and tough but; membrane that made it impossible to eat! Not to mentioned it had more lettuce than any thing. Now let's talk about the garlic toast! More like hoagie bread grilled. I've heard the Italian Beef sandwich is good but of course these are the same individuals who recommended this place. The 1-star is solely bc of the pretty Christmas tree as well as the service. But the steak sandwich - forget about it...

Hidden gem. The location: Has tv with basketball going, free WiFi (I was able to get some work done), and cool rocky balboa collection. The food: Had a double burger and fries. The burger is huge and for a great price. Fries are super crispy and perfectly salted. The staff: Walk in and am greeted by a very nice staff member. Brought my food out to me when didn't need to and offered to clean up after me. Will be coming here a lot. Food was so good

Went there with my husband. I ordered a Gyro and he a hotdog and chili cheese fries. There was just enough cucumber sauce and the onions was cut and not long and stringy like other restaurants do. Excellent!!! According to my husband, the chili cheese dog could used some chopped onions. All in all, I personally would recommend this place . The inside give a laid back vibe , with the pop culture wall art . The employees are helpful, kind and professional. If your looking for not only chili cheese hot dog or a gyro, but, some great Italian comfort food , come on over to Mama D's .

No one behind the counter and in the kitchen was wearing a mask. Food is good but lost me with the total lack of precautions.

Beef was very good but expensive for a hot dog place. Other than that the guy behind the counter that took my order was very friendly.

For the $20+ pizza I wouldn't recommend. Glad they have options tho for everyone. I remember my boyfriend pizza(cheese/meat normal ) being a little on the burnt side, but it's wood-fire can't complain too much. Service- was ok I only picked up to go so I can't say. As a treat, we traveled from Evanston to mark our anniversary by returning to the site that served our special day. We are unsure what shifted here. Service fell short of the 2024 standard, and we sat in a nearly empty room. After ordering drinks and appetizers, we waited a long time; the appetizers arrived first. The server returned for entrees, which we ordered, though only one of us had a drink by then. Our second drink appeared nearly 15-20 minutes after we arrived. Our entrée had already reached the table by this time. Regarding food, the pizza remained excellent. The new polenta pops were impressive. We had the pork belly in 2024, so sampling the updated version was pleasant. Meanwhile, the balsamic skirt steak declined. We recall adding it last minute for our wedding in 2024 because we loved it during the tasting; that was not true this time--it felt lacking, and I am unsure what changed. Overall, while we love this place, it will be a long time before we travel here again. Something changed over those two years, and it is not the same restaurant that catered our wedding. We hope things change for the better, since it holds such a special place in our life.

In fact, we were trying to figure out a way to have Silver Beach Pizza for our rehearsal dinner for our upcoming wedding in Indiana, but it's just a little too far away. But today, my fiancée had to go downtown for work, and needed to be picked up from the Lemont Metra. I glanced at some restaurants nearby ahead of time and noticed Gelsosomo's had a pretty high rating. So she's starving when she got off the train and I pointed out the pizza place, not even a block away, and we headed inside. We were seated, and she looked at the picture on the front of the menu, and she said, "I don't want to get my hopes up too much, but this kind of looks like Silver Beach Pizza." The server was very friendly to us. We get the food, and it looks an awful lot like Silver Beach Pizza. We taste it, and although it's been awhile since we last had Silver Beach Pizza, it tastes pretty close to how we remember it. And here and there, "Ooh, that bite tastes exactly like Silver Beach!" Near the end of the meal, I start speculating that SW Michigan is a popular tourist destination for Chicago suburbanites, so maybe someone went to Michigan, found Silver Beach Pizza, and decided to bring it back. A quick Google search seemed like it was plausible, since the Lemont Gelsosomo's was only opened in 2014 and SBP has been open a lot longer. But then my fiancée Googled 'Silver Beach Pizza Gelsosomo's' and there it was, on Silver Beach Pizza's website. "We are proud to be associated with Gelsosomo's Pizza. Our pizza has repeatedly been voted best pizza in Southwest Michigan. Tom Gelsosomo, YOU ROCK!" Turns out, Gelsosomo's has been around much longer, and Lemont was the 10th location that was opened. So by chance, we had stumbled upon the same pizza we travel two states away to go to, practically in our backyard. And not only that, but now we know it's a chain, and there's a Gelsosomo's close to our wedding venue in Indiana. Thank you, Gelsosomo's in Lemont, for helping us make the connection! Your pizza is amazing, and I'm sure we'll be back many times in the future.

It was decorated super cute for Christmas and it was warm inside with the space heater. Our server was very attentive, prompt and friendly. The food came out quick, hot and tasty! We all ordered different drinks. I ordered the Cranbery Sangria and it was perfect. Definitely reccomend! For appetizers, we got the spinach and artichoke dip with chips and fried ravioli. Both appetizers were delicious! I liked them both so much and can't pick a favorite because they were equally satisfying my taste buds. For our main course, we ordered a traditional thin crust pepperoni pizza and a gluten free sausage pizza. Both pizzas had nice perfectly cooked crispy crust. The gluten free crust was just as good as the traditional crust. The pepperoni was flavorful and had a spicy kick to it, which I enjoyed. The sausage on the gluten free pizza tasted like it was homemade and fantastic! The sauce was a little sweet for my liking but not bad by any means. I just prefer less sweet pizza sauce on my pizza. I would definitely return again whether in their igloo dining in the winter or anytime through the year on their patio or inside. Highly reccomend!

Service is prompt and friendly…read more We ordered the sample platter which was plenty of food to split between three people and still have leftovers. YMMV depending on your party's appetite. Brisket - not the best I've had, but definitely good Pork Belly Burnt Ends - delicious! The sticky sweet sauce they come in is amazing. Pulled Pork - good Sausage link - meh Mac & Cheese - better than many places, but I'd probably try a different side next time Tater Tots - sooo good! Texas Twinkie - perfect flavor and jalapeno poppers and not usually my thing Pickles and pickled onions - so good! Pecan pie - took this home to eat later and it was one of the best pies I've ever had The BBQ sauce at a place can make it or break it. I didn't care for the vinegar based one, but their honey bbq sauce is delicious. I appreciated that they gave me a cup of it automatically when I asked for a to go container.

Being from Alabama, fresh-brewed sweet tea is a must for me with BBQ. Matt's does not have sweet tea but I called and asked if I could bring my own. I was told sure so that made it extra special for me. As I entered Matt's, I ordered at the counter and I had help from the nice lady. She told me all meat plates come in 1/2 pound but I could order sliders that came in 1/4. That's why I went with the brisket slider and pulled pork slider. I wanted to try the pork belly burnt ends but those didn't come in a sandwich. Both sliders were fantastic! The meat was juicy and what I exactly want from BBQ. The pulled pork slider went extremely well with the Carolina Vinegar sauce like it should. The honey BBQ and hot honey BBQ were better matches with the brisket. I loved all 3 sauces but was most impressed with the Carolina Vinegar. The meat and sauces were impressive but the sides over all were underwhelming for me. Something to note was that this might be the only BBQ joint I have ever been to with so many sides and baked beans was not one of them. The slaw was all right but adding the Carolina vinegar took it to another level. The potato salad was homemade and actually cost an extra $1 for some reason. But I didn't like it because I don't like celery. That one is on me because other than the celery, it was all right. But the side I was most disappointed with was the mac and cheese. The lady behind the counter told me they do not make it in house but buy it frozen and smoke it. They need to find another formula for it because this was not worth $5 for a side of Mac and cheese. The noodles were too doughy and could tell it was indeed frozen at one point and the cheese was more like nacho cheese than real cheese. I couldn't even finish it with how disappointed and disgusted I was with it. Despite the sides, Matt's gets the most important part of BBQ right and that's the meat. The meat and sauces were top notch and I truly appreciate them letting bring in my own sweet tea.
