We were told it would be 30-35 minutes, but it only ended up being 8 minutes. It was so nice to be in a restaurant with character, history and personality. Loved seeing all the old photos. It was noisy, but not from loud music, but from people chatting and enjoying having conversations. We order the red and white pasta, tri tip sandwich and pastrami sandwich. They do not skimp on the meat. Sandwiches were delicious. I enjoyed my pasta and side plate of salami, cheese and bread. To end our lunch we had the butterfinger ice cream pie. Chef's kiss on a great lunch. The staff at Luigi's doesn't skip a beat. Our water glasses were never empty. Even being busy, the service isn't compromised. Afterwards, we walked around their store. We were able to grab the last of the season's navel and Cara Cara oranges, along with some fresh lemons. Everything was incredibly fresh and full of flavor. We also picked up some dates, which are absolutely delicious. I love mine stuffed with good Irish butter and cheddar, it's the perfect sweet and savory combo. My wife prefers hers with Skippy peanut butter, and she absolutely loves them. As always, the staff were wonderful, friendly, welcoming, and happy to help. The gentleman (I wish I got his name) was friendly and knowledgeable. About a week ago, I picked up some of their marinated chicken breast. I believe one was a garlic and herb and the other was their signature marinade. The garlic and herb was very nice and could easily be paired with any green vegetable. I asked about their signature marinade to get an idea of flavors and they stated it was like a Mexican polo flavor. I made it with some white rice and it worked out really well. The chicken breasts were so thick! You could easily filet them and double your amount. They also didn't appear to have the white lines that I see in the supermarket chicken breasts. I've read those are due to hormones in the chickens. Is it true? I don't know. They have a nice variety of cuts and if you like sausage, they have several flavors! Definitely worth checking out. The shop isn't very big but they have pretty much all the basics you would need if you're planning a BBQ or a simple meal for you and your family. Overall, the shop is clean and tidy. This is no fault of theirs, but whoever designed that parking lot, well, lets just say they didn't consider larger trucks driving through. The parking lot layout for that entire area is just wonky.

I personally liked that they had an array of vegan friendly foods (while not vegan, I sometimes do like to do 1-2 days of "clean" eating when I'm traveling). They also have a hot bar and a salad bar along with a deli. I appreciate that they have a wide variety of food, and on the hot bar they do change it up daily. The staff is very friendly and will definitely help point you in the right direction if you can't find something. Its a place I could see visiting over and over when I'm in town.
