Ordered a custom cake to celebrate me and my twin sister's birthday and it was exactly what we wanted. We're big grand sumo fans and we had requested a cake shaped like a dohyo (the ring that sumo wrestlers fight in). He even got the salt and water buckets we wanted! He was also kind enough to let us borrow his plastic container for transport!
Malu is a nice dessert place they have soft serve ice cream and the roll cakes are delicious. Also tried the sesame jelly drink that was so refreshing too. The owner was really nice and friendly. The place is small and has a few seats if you want to eat in.
It's always good to see Taka. I've been coming to him for years. Today, he opened the door for us and remembered me after months of being away. I got a new job, so I haven't been around as much. But his quality is as good as ever. Today, all of the items were winners. I think he is getting used to the American palate more. I loved the Halloween decorations, and the bright pick paint always lifts my spirits. Inside the case is the special of the week along with some of the staple items. On the wall is the rest of his menu. If you want, he can make speciality cakes for you. He really is fun to see. I love his hojicha soft serve!
First time visit. Met the owner Taka. Nice guy. He makes the cakes and goodies here. Ordered the original beef Kimbap, Coffee jello drink, Candied Pear and newly featured Pistachio pie. I parked on Makaloa Street metered parking per yelp tips. 75 cents for 30 minutes. Owner Taka makes the Kimbap when you order it! Great tasting. Coffee jello was a little sweet for me, but still delectable. The pistachio cake and Candied Pear were recommended by owner Taka. Great recommendations! Update: The candied pear was perfectly ripe. However the candied cover was sweet and ended up cutting up my mouth. Maybe a thinner layer? I ended up pulling off the candied cover and ate up the delicious pear.
Where to go after dinner in Honolulu, Hawaii... This is a common question which the Yelp app can answer. I searched for "dessert" and found Malu. I had seen it at the Ke'eaumoku Plaza (the building next to Sam Sung Plaza). It was time to check it out! Because I strongly dislike paying for parking, we parked elsewhere and walked over. Malu is between King of Thai Boat Noodles and next to Wen's Tea. It shares the parking lot with Cafe Gangnam and Kickin' Kajun. Inside, the cozy fuschia-colored shop is ready for Instagram photos. The bright pink decor is quite memorable! There's bench seats with a few tables and chairs for indoor dining. Service was very polite and friendly. My friend asked a lot of questions and the gentleman was so nice. We learned that "Malu" has many meanings. In Hawaiian, it's protection. In other cultures, it's peace or conversation. My friend asked - what's the Korean word for "pink"? The gentleman laughed and said that he didn't know because he's Japanese! LOL! My friends got fancy desserts - a cream puff cookie and a yuzu mousse - and strawberry jelly milk drinks. They really enjoyed the quality and flavors! I can't do dairy, so, I got Kimbap - Korean sushi. It was made fresh - it was delicious! The beef was tender and tasty! The rice was chewy and the takuan was crunchy! Yum! I wouldn't mind returning - especially since Malu stays open until 8pm. Note: closed on Wednesdays
What a nice treat after dinner! We tried the strawberry jelly drink. Don't forget to mix it before drinking! It tastes just like strawberry milk with jelly pieces (kind of like boba). We also had the vanilla soft serve topped with fresh mango sauce, and it was delicious! It felt like eating fresh cut mango with your ice cream. They're generous with the sauce too, which we enjoyed. Just a reminder: make sure to get your parking validated!
M: Let's go get dessert... Me: I have to work... M: Let's go get dessert!! Me: I'm busy now... M: LET'S GO GET DESSERT!! Me: ok... I should be working but Mink wanted to get dessert so we went to check out Malu. She insisted we go but at least we went during off hours. Samsung Plaza had lots of open stalls and the place was empty. You can't miss this place because it's bright pink. Inside is cozy and they validate for 30 minutes if you dine in. She knew she wanted the soft serve with Oreos and chocolate. Mink ordered me the soft serve with fresh strawberry sauce and Fruity Pebbles. I think she got me one so that she could have two lol. It was pretty good and the Fruity Pebbles offered the soft serve a nice textural component to each bite. Mink was satisfied and got her pics for the Gram. Main thing is she's happy and had a good experience there. Glad I was able to come and give this spot a try. It was nice break from everything and the soft serve was quite good. Definitely worth trying and solid spot near the Ala Moana Center area. 4.5 stars
Teeny mega pink shop. Usually it is quiet and peaceful, but the pink is always bright and welcoming. No matter what day you stop by to have a dessert, this place always has something for you (different selections often from the creative chef) and the nice man there who makes everything! Sometimes there are seasonal/themed desserts available too, and you can also order custom cakes for special occasions. I have no pictures of the taiyakis but they were delicious each time. All of the cakes, soft serves, and kimbap are delicious as well! Every bite is flavorful (and not too sweet or overdone). Parking is not the best in that plaza, but it has always been a good time on slow days. I like coming when I'd like a treat to myself.
It was my first time trying this place! I have seen the advertisements for this business and follow them on IG as well but never actually had the time to go there to try it! It used to be a soft serve place and I've been there once before it changed establishment! The boyfriend was the one who said we should go. I think he may have seen it online or something. But I was so glad we did! We got there and no one was in the shop! There was only one person working and I am assuming that's the owner of the shop. He was very nice and made our order all by himself! We had ordered the 5 taiyaki, 1 kimbap, and 3 desserts! We got the spicy tuna and cheese kimbap and that was soooo good!! It's very cute that the top was sprinkled with rainbow sesame seeds! The egg was like a tamagoyaki egg versus the actual pan fried egg so it gave the kimbap a slightly sweeter taste! For the taiyaki we ordered two spicy tuna melt and one of each of the beef, chocolate, and custard! Omg!!! It was all sooo good!!! I don't eat beef so the bf had that and he said that it's realllllyyyy good!!! The spicy tuna melt was so good too!! But the sweet taiyaki...omg!! Chef's hand kiss! The chocolate was soo good!! It's like chocolatey but minus the extra sweet flavor! It's like actual dark chocolate!! The custard was amazing as well! Like I don't usually like custard but this custard is like the ones I've had in Korea! It's not the super heavy cream or pudding like custard it's the more transparent and not so sweet kind!!!! All of it was sooo good!!! For the desserts we got the Mont Blanc, nama Choco, and the cookie cream puff! They were alll really delicious but my favorite has got to be the nama choco!! It's like a dense mousse cake but when you take a bite of it, it's like this velvety chocolate that just melts in your mouth! The Mont Blanc has this really nice layer of chestnut and cream and the crust is nice and crispy/flakey!! The cookie cream puff was probably the best cream puff I've had! Like the puff itself was crispy on the outside with the cream on the inside! But the shell itself doesn't break down and make the cream gush out when you cut into it. Like the shell stays in tact when you cut and doesn't crumble!! That's a miracle!! Like I've never had anything like that!!! If you haven't tried Malu, I would definitely recommend you try them out!! Definitely will not regret it!! The price is pretty reasonable as well! I mean we ordered all of that and it was about $40 something! We will definitely be back to try the other items he has as well!!
Malu is a small pink dessert shop in Honolulu. They sell bentos, kimbaps, and taiyakis too. I bought a soft serve with black sesame chocolate and fruity pebbles. The soft serve was a nice ice cream delight. The desserts are pricy for how small they are, but it takes skill to make these that make me think it's worth it. Malu posts on their Instagram the "dessert of the day" which only lasts for 3 or 4 days. I would suggest checking out their "dessert of the day" posts and if one does catch your interest; Go for it! I recently tried their 'White Dress or Wedding Dress' which is sweet potato pound cake coated with mascarpone cream ribbons. This small dessert was sooo good, that my friend and I had to buy a few more. I didn't know sweet potato and mascarpone flavors would combo well together. The "dessert of the day" is different now, so keep your eye out for their desserts if you're interested. I also requested a custom cake from Malu. You can fill out a request cake form on their website: www.maluhonolulu.com Their cakes are limited, for example Basque cheesecakes, flavored moose cakes, cakes for dogs, and others, but the chef is open to designs. I picked a mango mousse cake which was $50 and the design I found on social media. I asked for it, with the manga pages from the anime Haikyuu. After you submit the cake request form, Malu will let you know the total price. Since, I asked for a custom detail on my cake. The extra charge was $30, so total was $80. The mango mousse cake looked amazing and my family & myself enjoyed eating it.
Cute little boutique dessert and snack shop. One man show. Boy does the owner work tho; And he creates the cutest snacks and things. Check them out on their IG page or website to see some of his creations. First time I stopped by the shop was to buy a few dessert items for my friend's kids and kimbap for me. It was fun to choose! Saw that they also had taiyaki in sweet and savory choices and my favorite...jelly drinks! They had coffee jelly, matcha jelly, and mango jelly that day. Had to stop in later that evening with friend to try the coffee jelly! So delicious! Today I came back for the taiyaki and of course a jelly drink. Taiyaki choices include tuna, spicy tuna, beef, red bean, chocolate, and custard. Bought three to get the discount price. Ohhh swoon...I want more I WANT MORE!! Choices on jelly drinks today are coffee, matcha, and strawberry. Ohh boy, choices...such hard choices! Got the matcha jelly. Yumm so delicious! Looking forward to returning. Located in the Sam Sung Plaza on Keeamoku Street. Only the owner runs the space so if there is a line, expect to wait. I arrived first so my order was quick. The lady who arrived 4th while I was still waiting was not happy to be quoted 30 minutes for Taiyaki and Kimbap made to order. Taka, the owner, mentioned customers can order online at their website and he will start to work on your order before you get there. Small shop. Slightly small portions still, love the selection. Look for the bright cute pink shop. Thank you so much Taka, again, for your good service and delicious treats! Arigatoo ne, ja mata!
A cute little Japanese dessert shop tucked away off Keeaumoku. They specialize in custom cakes, pastries, soft serve and even kimbap. I've come to Malu to get cakes for a special occasion, once for a custom birthday cake and just recently for their Valentine's special chocolate heart. Both 5 star experiences, especially the custom cake. They were able to perfectly capture what I was going for and were very responsive via email. My frog cake turned out great! The only thing was the cake needed to be buttercream based (instead of whipped cream) to accommodate my request for decoration. The inner cake ended up being like 60% buttercream and 40% cake and was a bit hard to eat. Their pastries are very delicious and are Japanese style so not that sweet. The nama choco is one of my favorites because it tastes just like Royce chocolate from Japan. Aside from the sweets, I've come here twice so far wanting to try their kimbap...but they were out of rice both times :( I don't want to give up on trying the kimbap because I hear it's really good! In general, I find that many items sell out by the afternoon, so come early. Every time I've come, only Taka (the owner) was working. He can only help one group at a time, resulting in long wait times even if there's only 2-3 people in line. Major props to him though for managing all that by himself.

This. Place. Slaps. Good parking (though stalls are compact). Cute decor. AMAZING desserts. The pricing is high but WORTH EVERY PENNY. I will be back. I haven't wanted to write a review about a place so badly! This little dessert cafe is so cute. And the owner chef person is so nice. They have excellent taste in music and I love the ambiance (though I don't think they are allowing dine in at this time). They also serve more than just desserts as they have kimbap and some savory taiyaki (both of which I have to come back to try). On this first visit, I was really drawn in by the Japanese Mont Blanc [$5.75] and the limited "shock drop" matcha cream puff [$5.75] (which had a layer of cream cheese and yuzu jam). Both were amazing! Perfectly balanced, light, beautiful textures. The Mont Blanc was so smooth and luscious while also being light. The delicate crust and crunchy cookie on top were nice touches. The cream puff was THE BEST CREAM PUFF IVE EVER HAD. The cookie crumble on top was still crisp, the profiterole was light and beautiful (definitely not cardboardy like some others I've had). The matcha cream and cream cheese were light and were balanced with the tart yuzu jam. Simply AMAZING. I will definitely be back for some savory items!!! read more

Super cute and yummy! Light chocolate mousse with a tangy mango cream filled center. Came in to get some soft serve and came out with an extra cute little chick! read more
Oh my Goddddd. I went with my sis Agnes S. Today and we had a complete party in our mouths eating this stuff. Honestly what the heck The Lychee tart was rich, crust was just the right amount of flakiness - yet the lychee and raspberry tasted so fresh and added an extreme burst of flavor into every bite. Definitely super impressed - I also just love sweets a ton LOL The Raspberry cheesecake was so good. I'm honestly craving these sweets again as I'm typing this. I mean I could probably eat 20 of these and Agnes S. Also agrees with me because that's what she said. I also want to eat 20 of these, but alas if I ate 20 of these I might get diabetes. I love this place will definitely be back. Super cute aesthetic and especially during these uncertain times the bright color of pink definitely is a mood lifter. read more
My friends and I stopped here for dessert. It seems like a new shop. Shop was colorful and very pink. We ordered the swirl with matcha/chocolate topping (free) and strawberry topping (check in on yelp) with taiyaki. Ice cream was soft and good. The topping was sweet but went well with the ice cream. The taiyaki was soggy and dry. Don't order the taiyaki, it's not fresh. The ice cream cost about $6-7. read more

I visited Malu on a weeknight. It was empty, but the Samsung parking lot was full--we got the last stall. Malu offers a variety of desserts, from cakes to soft serve to shave ice. They even have kimbap... I know, not a dessert, but they offer it! I ordered the lilikoi mango shave ice and my friend got the soft serve. It was a little pricey, like $5-$6. But I guess that's kind of the going rate for ice cream if you go to an ice cream place for dessert. My shave ice was good. It comes with this lilikoi foam that's really tart and delicious. I wasn't really a fan of the popping boba on the bottom. I wish the description of the dessert had said it came with popping boba. Other than that, it was good. The guy working the cash register didn't really speak English very well, so you just have to be patient. The decor is very cute and PINK. There are a few small tables. It's definitely an option if you're in the mood for some cute desserts. read more

Super cute kimbap and dessert shop located inside the Sam Sung Plaza. I wanted to try their cute little crepe cakes with a face, but no one wanted to share that with me. My daughter opted for a green tea jelly drink and it was very good. I could totally taste the matcha which I didn't expect. We also had the taiyaki soft serve. You have your choice of one topping and one sauce. It was really good, but the soft serve is not as creamy as I would like. The strawberry dorayaki was soooooo yummy and they have lots of other desserts that I can't wait to try like their shave ice with strawberry foam. I saw it on their IG and it looks dreamy! Super nice staff! Opens daily at 11am except for Thursdays! read more
Obviously super cute and instragrammable. Super friendly staff. Cash only as of right now. Strawberry jelly + milk drink - Perfect for kids. No caffeine and the strawberry milkiness is sure to please. My niece devoured it. Strawberry shave ice - Surprisingly delicious! The ice on the bottom is super soft like snow and the strawberry foam on top is strangely addicting. It's sweet and tart at the same time. Super refreshing and definitely different. I would order this again and again. Vanilla soft serve and taiyaki w Nutella filling + Oreo - The vanilla soft serve was just okay. Not bad, not special. The taiyak itself was ultra disappointing. It was cold, hard, and tough to chew. Crepe cake (cheesecake) - Looks better than it tastes. Weird, soggy outside and the cheesecake filling is not tasty. I think they're still in the soft opening phase. I would definitely give it another go once they've ironed out all the kinks and get things going. read more
Malu just opened Sunday 8/11/19 and I've tried coming on Thursday 8/15/19 after dinner but didn't know that Malu closed this past Thursday. I made another attempt today and Malu was opened! I found out today they will be closed on Mondays instead of Thursdays. They are still figuring out what days/hours work best for the business but will at least open from 11am-10pm. Last night they opened til 2am so customers can come for desserts after having drinks at the nearby bar. I wanted to try everything and I almost did! Spent just over $30!! Just to know that they do not accept credit cards so bring enough cash. Good thing I had enough cash and perhaps later they will take charge cards. The coffee jelly drink was pretty good and not too weak but wished the cup had a little more coffee jelly :) The Mango/Lilikoi shaved iced was delicious and refreshing that made me desire more of it! Too bad they didn't offer a larger size! It was in a cute & small dessert cup. After the shaved ice was delivered to my table, it was topped off with a Mango/Lilikoi foam which tasted like a Mango/Lilikoi mousse. It had a slice of orange and some a Lilikoi seeds on the delicious Mango /Lilikoi shaved ice. I added on the taiyaki (filled waffle fish). It was hot and cooked to a nice golden brown color with a generous amount of red bean! It was good but I'm still biased to the vendor at Ala Moana since it had a thicker Mochi waffle batter and I started to prefer it filled with Nutella! There are three different Kimbap (sushi ), soft serve, crepe cakes, taiyaki, dorayaki sandwiches, several different jelly drinks and I just saw on their Instagram page that they will offer cream puffs too! I took home the dorayaki and the two crepe cake with eyes (chocolate mousse and a rare cream cheese w/ perhaps a yuzu? ) I know it was cool/cold to the touch that perhaps it was chilled or the inside was frozen. I had it in the to go container but didn't go home right away... so when I arrived home the crepe cake was flatten like a melted Frosty the Snowman. I tossed it in the freezer to harden it and hope it would taste just as good but flattened. So perhaps if you do get one, it'll be best to eat it right away:). The dorayaki sandwich was still intact, but ate it after I've chilled it a bit in the freezer. It was delicious! It's like eating an azuki flavored cream filling between two mini Japanese honey pancakes. I haven't tried the hot dog sushi I bought, but I took the girl's (one of the owners) suggestion. It was her favorite of the three Sushi. It's a cute pink shop with three table of 4 and 4 high stool along the counter. It's a Japanese company with Korean style food/desserts. It's located in the Sam Sung Plaza across Walmart. As you enter the parking lot, it's on the left across Sikdorak. Parking is free for the first 15 min (grace period) but after they will give you a 30 min validation. Please give them a try and remember to bring cash! Thanks for reading =) read more
This is another cute trendy ice cream place in Honolulu and the prices reflect that. Amazing atmosphere with modern interpretation of traditional desserts. The soft serve menu is pretty straightforward and simple since you start off with vanilla ice cream as a base and choice any topping or sauce on it. Their soft serve is high in quality, creamy yet solid consistency. I tried out with Oreo flavor, hard chocolate cover with some matcha flavor in it, and strawberry sauce so far. Everything was deliciously good! It's a pretty small dessert shop but such a cute pink interior design and there are some seating especially outside too. The owner is also friendly, generous and polite. Made every customer feel welcomed and has some serious presentation skills on each dessert plate too! read more

Reminds me of cafes in Japan. Cute small joint located in the Samsung plaza across cafe Nam; same side of HI-Blend. Decided to check this place out after our massage and this was the only place opened. The place isn't all that seems to be on Yelp lol pictures just looked cute with the whole pink interior but nothing here..sorry just being honest They can honestly do better by maybe adding just a few more items on their menu that's much appealing. Side Korean hot dishes are alright as well. Good for just eat when you really starving. Kinda pricey for a place for mediocrity. Don't think I'll ever be back but it was good to try read more

Thank you for your wonderful review! I look forward to seeing you…
I had here several times for kimbap and some dessert drinks but had yet to try other dessert items. A few weeks ago, I needed to grab some yummy dessert for friends, and I was totally desperate. I called Malu and the patissier was able to give me a few options that he could offer within the short time frame I had. I ended up ordering the nama choco cakes and they were a hit! Small, delicate but rich in flavor. Since this time, I knew I had to come back for my own treat - a weekly special dessert. This week's (week of Aug 16th) is the matcha green tea basque cheesecake slice. Yes, it's a tiny slice but it totally melted in my mouth, bursting with flavor! It was just enough of some creamy goodness. The added salt on the side was surprisingly delicious! On top of that I ordered a weekly special roll cake for my family. This same week's was a lemon flavor with maple sauce on the side. Again, a petite dessert but it totally exceeded my expectations! I honestly felt it was perfectly petite. I love French and Japanese desserts, and it's not easy to find a good place on island. Many cake places just have loads of sugar and cream in them, or just prioritize aesthetics (wedding or birthday cakes) instead of flavor. Malu's desserts are definitely made with creativity and care, as you can see in the patissier's beautiful and delicious creations. Orders can be made via phone or even online for pick up or delivery. I recently utilized the online order and pick up option, as it's so easy! read more

The hidden gem of japan. I must say this place is pink and so cute! If you are craving nama chocolate, here it is! As yummy as can be! Every week I love picking up 4 pieces of nama chocolate slices for the family! They have a delicious Kim bag too which is aesthetically pleasing to look at when received. The neatness and perfection to detail on this Kim bap roll makes me come back for more! -the bulgogi are the kids favorite -the spam Kim bap is my favorite -the tuna cheese Kim bap is my assistants fave! Last but not least.... The soft serve... ever had creamy Hokkaido milk soft serve? It's right here! As creamy as can be. Only found here in Hawaii. You will not be disappointed. Creamy and melts in your mouth.... I can't wait to grab a cone next week! Yummy! read more

I ordered a face cake for my husbands 30th birthday, and super satisfied with what we got! Initially just went there because I don't know of any other place that makes anything like it and they only needed a weeks advance notice, but omg, The cake looks so much like him, it was hilarious! But not only that the cake was 100% delicious. There face cakes only come in strawberry shortcake, it's sort of Japanese-style with how light it is, no sugary frosting! The cake was super moist and strawberries fresh. Just the two of us ate almost half the cake! I'm definitely looking forward to coming back and trying more of their desserts/foods. They are located off piikoi across Walmart sams club, the shopping center with the parking attendant out front. It's a pretty small storefront with no one to eat so as of now during covid just a sort of grab and go type of place. read more
Hole in the wall Japanese dessert shop tucked in the little strip with a couple of restaurants and bubble tea shops. I've tried a couple of their desserts and think they're overpriced for the quality (read: average). These are Japanese style desserts so the good news is they are lighter and less sweet than your typical dessert shops. The bad news is some seemingly interesting options are not, the chestnut cake for example is just a dense piece of sweet cake without much flavor. The only thing worth mentioning is the chiffon matcha cake in a cup, it's light, has good matcha flavor, and not too sweet. The portion however does not justify the price. I also can't tell how fresh their desserts are. They have samples on display and take stuff out of the fridge when you buy. read more

Always wanted to try here as they looked to have fun yummy treats and why not it's the holidays! Kinda disappointed for the only soft serve flavor they had was vanilla and the taiyaki cup was out of order. Love love love matcha and was excited to see they had a green tea chocolate sauce decided to have that with Oreo topping yeah!! Mmmmm that sauce I think was white chocolate so it was sweeeeeeet!! Way too sweet for me I couldn't taste any here em tea just sugar...and it was thick not the crackle kind of topping so I was slightly disappointed. The other desserts they had displayed didn't excite me so sadly it was all I got. Adorable place located right across Walmart on Keeaumoku with plenty of parking they monitor but is free. Will be back again Malu hoping for more selections. read more

Had to break quarantine after seeing their cuuuute little bunny cakes on Instagram! I called on Friday to order 4 of these beauties, and pickup was easy and fast. The owner was super nice and friendly, and the space is an IG-worthy pink grotto of sweets and savories. Had no idea this was here - I imagine they draw crowds when we're not under Covid quarantine, but for now only 1 person allowed at a time inside the shop, and you need to be wearing a mask. Will definitely return to try the rest of the next menu, particularly the plate lunch options! PS they make beautiful cakes, similar to kulu kulu, so if you've got a birthday or other special occasion coming up, please consider ordering from them! read more

Pistachio pudding ($5)- 10/10 will come back just for this! It's rich, smooth, creamy, and perfectly sweet with the caramel sauce. Royal milk tea macaron ($3.50)- 7/10 would probably not get again I was excited for this because I love milk tea, I love macarons, and it was my first time seeing a milk tea-flavored macaron. I was so confused while eating it because I didn't think it tasted at all like milk tea. To be fair, I don't think I've ever had royal milk tea. I kept thinking it tasted fruity. I learned afterward that the pastry chef uses Assam, Earl Grey, and orange marmalade for the ganache. I guess what I was tasting was citrus flavor from the Earl Grey and orange. I think my palate isn't refined enough to fully appreciate this... I think La Tour macarons are a little softer and airier. I like the texture of La Tour macarons more. Matcha canele ($4)- 6/10 would not get again This was my first canele so I did some research before purchasing and was expecting the exterior to be crunchy/crispy and the interior to be like custard or thick pastry creme. This was dense, chewy, and cakey all the way through. It did taste like green tea though so there's that. Not bad but may disappoint if you're looking for a true canele. read more

This little dessert spot really is a hidden gem. Everything about it is SOO CUTE! The pink bakery front. The dessert details. The taste and flavors! From the jelly coffee, to the chocolate and soft serve..on point! The house-made roasted green tea chocolate syrup on vanilla soft serve..WOW I can't even tell you how much I enjoyed it! It was light and not too sweet. Taka, the owner, was so kind and makes everything HIMSELF. I really hope other people stumble upon this hidden gem and enjoy Malu's the same way we did. read more
Cutest hole in the wall ever! Love the two "hip" gentlemen serving yummy food, drink and dessert in a neon pink restaurant!! Been following them on IG and decided to stop today for the char siu pork bowl with a medium boiled egg. This dish was done to absolute perfection! The char siu pork was soft and tender and perfectly seasoned. Served over rice with a side of sauce. This was definitely a dish cooked to perfection and if you've seen how tiny the kitchen is, you'd wonder how they do it. Enjoyed a green tea jelly drink which was not too sweet and very refreshing! Definitely, going back to try Kimbap and shaved ice next! read more
Coz today is worth the celebration and a sweet treat will give justice on it. We came pass to this place last two weeks ago and tonight, finally we give it a try. ~ First of all, this instagrammable pink dessert store will make you gasp and will just bring giggle vibes in your nerve. This is dang so so so cute and I felt so fluffy and melting. This place isn't big and cannot accommodate big group but dang, it captured my heart. I so love the cool cute stuffs hanging on their wall. This place is so adorable. So pinky pretty! ~ My husband ordered soft serve (twist w/ fresh strawberry sauce) while I ordered taiyaki cup + soft serve (twist w/ rainbow sprinkles). Twist soft serve is a combination of pineapple & vanilla flavor being twist. Hahaha. Creamy, soft and flavorful. My husband love the strawberry sauce so much. I didn't put nutella inside the taiyaki which is a good decision. It was perfectly paired with my sweet creamy soft serve as this one (taiyaki) taste bland so for me that's superb. ~ Customer service is excellent. They're the friendliest we ever crossed today! The place is neat and clean. It's cozy and comfy. They got green placard too! They don't accept plastic, cash basis for now only. Want an extra free soft serve topping? Tap check-in here in Yelp. And extra topping for free will all be yours! That's more instagrammable portrait for your dessert! ~ Leave the place happy and gay! Celebrate our lil success with them is simply amazing. They fill happiness in our soul tonight! Friday aloha indeed! . . . Mahalo and HAPPY JUANDERING fellow yelpers! read more
Very cute place! Free 30 min parking with validation. Gave us enough time to finish the soft serve. I had a vanilla pineapple (on special right now) swirl with li Hing topping. It was a light and refreshing taste! I loved it. You get one topping free with your soft serve. You can choose from vanilla or whatever's on special or "twist" which is swirled. The Li Hing isn't on the menu but they have it. For a dollar more, you can have taiyaki with your soft serve. Their kimbap was good as well. The parking attendant said he really likes the tuna kimbap. Even though the shop seems small, there's plenty of space to sit. I want to come back and try a crepe cake or their drinks! Right now it's cash only. read more

I come here on a regular basis and everything is great! I have tried almost everything on the menu and I've never been disappointed. The Taiyaki with soft serve, banana bread w/ walnut, and sausage kimbab are my favorites. Along with their food and drinks, their customer service is excellent. The employees are always smiling and working hard! I believe her name is Alice, but she is so adorable and awesome! Overall, a cute little shop for any occasion. Quick lunch, coffee, or desserts after dinner since their hours are accommodating. P.S. BRING CASH (but in case you forget, there is an ATM right around the corner from the store) read more

Malu is located inside Samsung plaza, across from the Walmart at Keeaumoku St. Inside store is all pink, tables, chairs and the wall. What a pretty store. There are plenty parking inside Samsung plaza. There were four kinds of cakes when I went Malu. I had Mont blanc cake and it was delicious. Right sweetness. My friend had a strawberry Mont Blanc cake which was special cake of the week. It was also tasty. I want to try chocolate cake next time. This cafe is very small. It accommodates 10people or less. But it's nice place to go after lunch or dinner if you want something sweet. read more

This place is a Gem in Ala Moana area. Had two kinds of Kimbap and both are very tasty. This cute little place has something for anytime you stop by. Kim app for lunch, sweets for after lunch, tea time and even after dinner dessert! And great thing is that they open till late! Make sure to try Dorayaki!!! read more
Cute (and very pink!) little shop that has a variety of both sweet and savory snacks. Stopped by since I was craving Japanese soft serve and got stumped with the number of sauces you can choose from. To make choosing even more difficult, they have a variety of kim bap (Korean inspired rice rolls) with creative fillings AND taiyaki (a Japanese sweet). Traditional taiyaki have adzuki bean filling but they got really creative and since it's almost St Paddy's, I decided to go with the pastrami & tomato. Yeah...kinda weird sounding but OMG! It was so good, I want more...like right now...hmm wonder if they do Door Dash *hint hint.* Anyway, to top it off, I overheard the owner(?)/operator/chef guy mention he works there 7 days a week. The tasty treats got me hooked already but who wouldn't want to support someone that works that hard? read more

Once again, this place never disappoints! The owner/chef is just the nicest! Super helpful as well. Placed a request to make my daughters birthday cake. She's turned 12, and when the chef called he asked for specifications. It was cute he didn't know who straykids were lol I don't blame him i don't know much kpop either! But he requested if I could try to find cake toppers and he could print out photos. I was only able to find stickers and he made it work. As you can tell, check out the photo! So cute. My daughter loved it, her friends adored it as well! I ordered the chocolate flavored cake and added an extra 1.5 inch in height with circumference of 6 inches. It was perfect size to feed 15 people lol. The flavor was good, very light, flavorful and not too sweet like most chocolate cakes. It was perfect! Thank you so much chef! If anyone is looking for the perfect cake! This is the place to order from or just visit for a nice dessert or Kimbap snack! read more
