Everything after that was a giant disappointment however. We have spent 100's of thousands of dollars and a year later we have problems that are still unresolved. Months go by with no word from them. They have made commitments and then don't follow through. There are piles of debris, boxes and scrap material that have been left next to our front walk for months. Years ago I called them out to redesign our backyard, the project manager came out was going to send ideas over in the next couple days, after waiting 3 weeks they sent over a design and said someone else was taking over, while that design had NOT addressed the issue....forward properly 5 year later called to have them design a water feature at a new place, was told we would get a call in about a week to set the appointment up...4 weeks later and we have heard nothing. These guys are awesome! I've been a customer of theirs since 2015. And what I like about this company is their customer service. Great people to work with. Honest and reliable. Last February we had a bad snow storm. The morning right after Super Bowl Sunday, Seattle woke up to at least 10 inches of snow! And we're on a steep hill with a deep slope to go in and out of the property. I called Jeff from Malone's for help with snow plow and de-icing the slope & parking lot. He got us on the schedule that evening. I felt relieved after calling around for snow plow services, a landscaping company came to my rescue! I worked with Ryan at Malone's, he was a great communicator and quick to respond to all my emails. He put together the proposal I wanted and listened well to my requirements. I really appreciated his patience with me making a decision, since I changed a large portion of the project. Once the crew showed up to start the work, they were very nice and worked very quickly. They made sure to double check where I wanted existing plants moved, showed me how to use my new irrigation system, and made sure my new retaining wall looked perfect. I hired Malone's to manage the landscaping maintenance for a large HOA in Kent, WA. Since we hired them, the association has looks wonderful. Some of the Board members have higher expectations and requests, and Malone's delivered each time. What a great experience with a very professional and accommodating landscaping company. I contacted about half a dozen landscapers to do a backyard patio project. Some with great reviews and some with so so reviews, it's surprising that you cant even get a response from some of them. Jim was responsive, professional and always on time! It's amazing how far this will go. He wasn't the cheapest but I've been burned before by blow n go companies. So I based my decision on service, response times, and design. He drew out an amazing design and made a recommendation on stones that was above our budget but looked great once finished. I'm glad we went with it. He made modifications as we requested and within a week had his guys working on the project. They were done within the week. Our fence was a bit stained from the paver cuttings but he had them come back out and cleaned it. I like that. We love the results and the family does too. read more

First of all: We are extremely pleased with the work Jessica Wickre and the Malone's staff did for us at our home recently. We had never hired a professional landscaper to design and implement a plan previously, because - well frankly: we thought it would be too expensive and hey: it's yard work, and we need the exercise! Well, after 3 years in our new place we still hadn't turned a spade and thought: why not invite some people out, explain our vision, get their ideas and see what it would cost? Now that it's done, we can't believe we waited so long: in a week Jessica and her crew transformed four separate areas of our yard into spaces that we, up until now, only dreamed of. The first two people to visit us after the work was done, our daughter and a close friend, could not believe the difference and asked for Jessica's contact information: you can't get better affirmation than that! In short: we removed sod, old bushes, lots of weeds, vines, a few blackberries and created new planting areas, brought in A LOT of new soil, tilling the new with the old and adding literally dozens of new, colorful varieties of trees, grasses and other plants - too many to count. Now, I don't buy many plants but when Jessica quoted our project, I seriously thought the price was for the new plants only; it wasn't - the quote covered everything AND the grounds were spotless when they left! Jessica was not only our sales contact, she also designed and managed the entire project and was present throughout to answer questions and suggest changes that we had not even thought of! I had been working on the rockery in front of my house for at least 10 years. I love gardening and working in the yard and have always felt a great deal of joy when I have successfully transformed an outdoor space in to something beautiful. My many attempts at beautifying our front yard have never had long term success so I finally decided it was time for professional help. We learned about Malone's at the Seattle Home Show earlier this year. We spent some time chatting with Jessica Wickre about what we were wanting to accomplish. She seemed very knowledgeable and really listened to what we wanted. We started working with her in April on the design plan and she was wonderful. This was almost all done via email due to the COVID situation. She always responded quickly and made adjustments when I wanted something just a little bit different than what she was suggesting. It wasn't long before I felt that she completely understood my desire for "something with structure for tidiness and yet with enough randomness to make it feel natural and magical". When the actual work started the crew was amazing, very skilled and always left the site tidied up at the end of a day. Jessica came by each day to review the progress and to check in with me on various aspects of the project. Ultimately, she and her team worked miracles! They were able to transform my rockery and front yard into a much better version of what I had dreamed of. I truly believe that the success of this project was in large part due to Jessica's talent and her ability to listen and plug in to what I was thinking. And, of course, the amazing crew!!! As the spring is upon us we find we have to completely relandscape our front yard. Last year every plant they selected and planted has died. This year we will spend thousands again. We hired Malone's a year ago to put in a drainage system in our backyard as well as enlarging our small patio. They responded quickly, were so much fun to do business with, gave us a great price, and were on time and cleaned up, too! We had them back to fix a couple things which needed some attention, they came without a problem, fixed them, and said they always stand by their work! We certainly plan to use them again! read more

We had a large re-landscaping project done on our front yard early this October 2017 by Malone's Landscaping. Jessica Wickre was our landscape designer and project manager for over 100 plants and a four-zone irrigation system. From initial design, to scheduling and adhering to that schedule, Malone's did everything promised both contractually and informally. We could not be happier. Malone's workers are the hardest working, most expert in what they do, and best "cleaner uppers" we have ever seen. And the coordination between those workers and Jessica wasn't just the sales pitch person who gets you to sign the contract. She was there every day coordinating all the work and arrival of the plants and rockwork. This is what is so often missing in these kinds of projects, the attention to detail and coordination of a PROJECT MANAGER. Jessica's work helped both us and the workers in the many fine details that we never had to worry about because of her work as PROJECT MANAGER and the outstanding expertise of all of Malone's personnel. There's the old saying, "You get what you pay for!" Though Malone's was the most expensive bid for the work, we have no doubt we got every penny's worth in quality of work and plants selected for our project. I don't believe there is anyone else in our area with the follow-up and attention to details provide by Malone's Landscaping. read more

Malone's is the worst landscape maintanence company out there. We signed up for a year contract with them and when it came to the summer time, they failed to what we signed in our contract, such as prune the trees, stay on top of the weeds, and make sure our sprinkler system was working properly at the beginning of the season. So the other day we noticed a leak just gushing out of our hill side and it wouldnt shut off. So we gave them a call and we told them what was going on, and that it was an emergency and they told us it would take two weeks to send someone out and acted like it was no big deal. Luckly, the maintanence mangers came out and shut it off a couple days later. This leak should have been caught when they turned on the system, but it appears they didnt do the inspection they said they would do. Then a couple weeks later, and we get a bill for 500 dollars which was reduced to 230 because we said that wasn't right, because they should have noticed it in the first place. So we decided not to pay it all because it was there fault. We have also tried to call and talk to the owner several times about things that aren't being done, Debbie Malone, at first we left a message and never got a call back. So we called again and finally go through to her, and she just gave excuses saying they are short staffed and blah blah. She is really rude and not helpful, her customer service skills are awful. Lastly, we had asked to have some new plants planted in our circle because they first year they did it, it looked awful, so they said they would do it right away in april and just got to it last week. It seems like this company is horriblely managed and has awful customer service. Do not use them what so ever. read more

We hired Malones last summer for a front yard project, removing the grass on the slope, installing plants and rock to keep the hillside up, and building a raised patio. Their prices were competitive and their customer service was above board. They delivered the project as we discussed, were in full communication with us during the planning and work phase and even followed up with us months after to check and make sure their work was well delivered. I'll have them back for any landscaping in the future, without hesitation! read more

I thought I found a honest company, again I was wrong. The owner seemed like a nice honest guy but his company does not stand by their work. I paid them a ton of money to do a lot of work on my backyard. Which included doing the prep work for hydroseed grass. Well the grass grew back with more weeds than it initially had. The hydroseed company does not add weeds to their mix so it wasn't their fault. I tried to get Malone's out for over a month to take a look at it. I kept getting promises that they would come look at the grass. Never happened, I even got the same excuse that I have heard multiple times before from other companies "Family Emergencies". I get that people have them and that some people lie about them, either way its not my problem and I know that he has other workers who could have come out to look at my yard if he wanted them to. I have had landscaping companies over and the bottom line is that I am going to have to tear up the yard and start over, costing me thousands of dollars because the prep Malone's did was bad. The last contact I had with Malone's he said he was sorry and that he would be over the next day and I think he might have shown up this time because I told him that they will not be doing the other phases of work that I had planned. Yes this was phase 1 and the company cant even stand by their services after the 1st phase. But I can only believe that they will actually come over so many times so I finally told them that I will take care of it. Also there were multiple times when they were actually doing all the work in my backyard that they did not show up when they told me they would be their. So I would advise passing on using any of their services, they are not an honorable company and are just out to get the money and run.
