Estia Henley Beach - *Second* Best Greek Food of My Life. (After Greece!) Period…read more Went here for my birthday and honestly... I'm still thinking about it. Estia is hands-down the fanciest and most authentic Greek restaurant I've ever been to. From the moment we walked in, it felt like a getaway to the Mediterranean -- ocean views, warm lighting, and that relaxed Greek island vibe. We ordered the saganaki, chargrilled octopus, kleftiko lamb, and spanakopita -- every single dish was perfection. Like, flavour explosion, melt-in-your-mouth, zero-faults kind of good. The loukoumades and baklava for dessert? Unreal. Sweet, crispy, soft -- 10/10. Service was next-level. Super friendly staff, quick service even though it was packed, and they surprised me with a free dessert for my birthday! The staff made me feel like family. Not cheap, but totally worth it. The food, the setting, the whole atmosphere -- it's a special place. I'll be coming back for every celebration... or just when I miss Greece. Pro tip: Book ahead and try to go at sunset. The view over Henley Beach is unreal.

We were seated immediately and treated like we were long time customers. The food was great. We had shareables for two of us. Dip with pita, spanakopita, and grilled cheese with olive oil and lemon. The only thing better than the food was the service and the view of the ocean from an outdoor table was wonderful. We loved it so much we made reservations for next week to try the calamari that we saw passing through. Can't wait.

The service has never been 5 star and sometimes it takes a while to be served. Staff always seem friendly though and I try to relax into the beach vibe instead of worrying that things aren't perfect. I like the atmosphere and it varies delaying on day and time of day. Sunday evenings is always busy and there is live music, plus an enthusiastic dancing crowd. Quite an older crowd the later it gets on Sundays. I have had a few meetings here in the day and it's a great spot to chill out and pretend to work ;-) I agree with Chloe about the food being a bit overly deep fried. I have had some tasty food here, and it does always look fresh and nicely presented, but some lighter options would be welcome. The cocktails look amazing, but somehow I just about always order sparkling wine! I'd recommend keeping an eye on their Facebook page as they put up great photos and details of their specials and new offerings. They put up some enviable sunset photos too. All in all, a fun place in a brilliant location!

There are few and far between choices when it comes to grabbing a good, well priced drink outdoors in Henley Beach on a weekend in summer. And I know you're thinking - "What? There's tonnes of places down at Henley to grab a drink!" Yes but I could list them off for you and that would be enough said... Bacchus is one of the better locations because of their good wine menu and well made cocktail and drinks list. They would get 5 stars in my books for location and the fact you can drink on the foreshore alone. Unfortunately though they have an incredibly ordinary food and tapas menu and no matter how many times I give that place a try I am always disappointed by their unoriginal, over fried, pre-packaged food. It's weird, because their menu and photos of food from Facebook always look so enticing, so maybe I'm just ordering wrong? That said, I won't say no to a nice vino on the deck as the sun sets in winter or summer, enjoying the 25+ eye candy and imagining I own my own apartment on the beach in Adelaide!

Staff are very friendly and the place seemed to be popular with locals in the early hours. We ordered two breakfast one was stella breakfast: two eggs, bacon, mushrooms, tomato, chicken and 21 basil sausages, hash browns and toast smashed avocado: served on open baguette, with watercress, feta, 19.5 roasted cherry tomato, and two poached egg, balsamic glaze Both very big portions and definitely well done. The restaurant had a fantastic view of the beach front even sitting inside during winter I can only imagine how great eating here with the view available

Stella's outside seating overlooking the grass, jetty and beach won us over. The toddler enjoyed running around on the grass, chasing "boidies" and looking at all the "peepl" coming and going while Mum and I got down to the serious business of ordering coffees and food - two soft poached eggs on toast for Mum and the "Claypot" for me. A high chair was brought out and the reluctant todder wrangled into it, lured by the Dora colouring-in book and pencils provided by Grandma. Food soon appeared, the Claypot is a dish of two poached eggs in a rich tomato sauce with pumpkin and white beans. Very tasty but could have used more than one smallish piece of toast to soak up all that yummy sauce. Mum was happy with her eggs cooked the way she likes and the toddler munched on a few "greps" I'd brought along. It was a beautiful morning and we lingered over our enjoyable breakfast and added another coffee to the tally while the toddler got another run. Service was attentive and polite, food great, setting perfect. A thoroughly enjoyable way to kick off our day.

Reservation are made easy via the web and confirmation is prompt. It was a reasonably cold evening but the heating was just right making the room temperature perfect and found it quiet with only about 5 or 6 tables booked at the time so service was sure to be attentive. The menu is well balanced, with the focus on seafood and am sure would satisfy a wide range of diners. As a starter we chose the Oysters Kilpatrick and shared a dozen between 2 of us, with King George Whiting, Blue Swimmer Crab Linguine for our main meal with my son (11) having a scaled down version of the Salt & Pepper Calamari (We didn't choose the kids Fish & chips that are on the Menu) The Oysters were of the Coffin Bay origin (oddly served with blue rock salt rather than the usual white and some salad laid over that) They were as tasty as ever but found a few of the oysters quite small and for $35/dozen would have thought they would have been more generous. The whiting was excellent with a delightful batter, chips and a generous serve of Salad (They did forget the sauce, but was provided on asking). The blue Swimmer Linguini was cooked well, seafood content adequate but could have benefited from perhaps some course cracked pepper and a small amount of parmesan added on service My only gripe was the "scaled down version" of the Salt & Pepper Calamari that my son was given. although the pieces were larger than average, there were only 3 (we chose the scaled down version simply as it was a kids meal) but the bowl was mainly filled with salad and chips and my son would happily have eaten more if we had known (The question was asked and were told the main meal was larger than a child would normally eat.) We did not order any dessert but the menu carries a reasonable choice Overall I found the evening pleasant, the wine was reasonable and the food good. The service provided by the staff was excellent. The Happy Birthday Gesture at the end of the night was very thoughtful (Thanks)
