This sweet cafe really makes you feel like you're on holiday in Paris. I had the continental breakfast which is perfect for indecisive people who cant decide between a sweet or savoury breakfast. It consisted of two slices of bread, one boiled egg, ham, cheese and a croissant and jams. Everyone else at my table got sandwiches, and were all very happy with their choices. The wait on food was a little long, but they are a small cafe.

I was in Adelaide for 2 days and went here twice. Yup, it's a winner. This adorable little cafe has an eclectic fit out, complete with nanna's tableware and doilies. They make some delicious sandwiches. The breakfast sandwich with crispy pancetta, avocado and lemon mayo was super tasty. That mayo is addictive. Coffee is from Five Senses and on the money, but their fresh juices are even better. The fresh orange and pineapple juice was perfectly tart. I was there with a group and everyone else seemed happy with their breakfasts, particularly the continental with a bit of everything on your plate. For lunch, there's another big lineup of sambos and I suspect the pork belly is a local favourite, judging by the tally for kilos of pork belly sold written on the wall. They were over 1100 when I was there. Nuts. While I didn't try the pork belly myself, I can recommend their poached chicken with mushroom tartare on turkish pide. Mmmm. If I was a Radelaidian, this would be my regular haunt for sure.

Cassoulet was a great way to start the day. Ham hock, duck confit and pulled pork lovingly baked together and topped with goats curd. Rich and wonderful. My breakfast Bloody Mary was fresh and pungent, one of the best I've had. It was served in a chick carafe with a side glass of ice. Eat the house bread, eat the butter. Fresh and warm, welcoming on a winters morning. Rustic French. C'est baguette!

A bit overrated. Nice for a quick bite, good breakfast options and gourmet style sandwiches which you can have as salads if you fancy. Indoor and outdoor seating. Service was a bit disinterested... Maybe as it was the end of the day. Would come back but only for a quick coffee stop.

Wow!! What an amazing cafe!!! The space is a little small, but once seated it does not feel cramped. Has a slight hipster feel, yet the wait staff were very attentive, not over bearing. The coffee was the best I had in Adelaide (although I only had a few in Adelaide) but the Bloody Mary was the best I've had (excluding the ones I make, obviously). The balancing of flavours was something you'd expect in a high end cocktail bar, not a cafe. Well done guys! I had the baked eggs (they take about 15 min - as the menu states, so if you're in a hurry, try something else). I chose the pancetta instead of the smoked salmon. Again, the balancing of flavours was superb. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars (and this is personal preference) is my eggs were cooked all the way through. I would have loved to stick my fork in and have that running goodness of the yolks filter down throughout the dish. I tried some of my mates cassoulet, and it too was amazing. If this was my local, I'd be there every weekend.

I am a huge fan of brunch and this lovely little joint wins a spot in my heart for a variety of reasons: 1. French accents 2. Consistently delicious food and good coffee 3. Great location- perfect for breakfast as the outside tables soak up the sun! 4. Gorgeous food presentation 5. The store itself is beautiful and the menu looks appealing 6. Did I mention French accents!?

It was a trail blazer and considered ooo-la-la in good ol' Adelaide for 25 years. Happy times were here again when Bistro France was born in Burnside Village - with daughter Cazz as manager and son Philippe spending time in the kitchen. Sadly Jacques has since passed away, so it's extra special to have Christine continuing to make us feel not only welcome, but part of their hospitality history. Décor wise, memories of La Guillotine and feelings of belle-époque abound. Absinthe posters, French copper long-handled pans and chic bistro surrounds set a richly apt scene for the food to come. I brought my family here to celebrate my birthday, as I dearly wanted to introduce them to Christine and her family's cuisine. They were jazzed. After a festive French feast of escargot (always great to watch newcomers young and old step up to try their first snail), double-baked three-cheese soufflé, duck liver pate, garlic-buttered prawns with herbs, L'entrecote beef with Béarnaise, confit of duck a l'orange, and chicken breast stuffed with avocado and brie - they were raving. With chocolate profiteroles, fanfare of Grand Marnier-flamed crepes, and delightful smashing of crème brulee toffee lids - it seemed like everyone's birthday.

You can choose from crepes, creme brulee, creme caramel or other favourites, along with a coffee, for $7.50 at any time of the day. They use Rio coffee, which is strong with a smooth taste, yet somewhat dry aftertaste. It's great with some water on the side to wash away the aftertaste. The staff are more than happy to cater to any coffee requests. I asked for mine latte to be made normally, but poured over ice. The waitress checked that I did want hot milk, not cold milk which won't melt the ice. Since I like textured milk, I went with hot on ice, and it is a beautiful combination - though not for everyone, I'm sure. The food here is quite pricey, and quite traditional. Their list of spirits and wines is impressive. It's just a pity you can't do anything other people's atrocious children, capable of thoroughly spoiling a nice, quiet time.

Nestled in the quiet block of Grenfell St. just steps from Rymill Park this gem is quite abuzz with crepe making energy; there are two types gallettes (savory) and sweet to choose from. we chose gallettes to share, one La Traditionelle ($11.5: ham, egg sunny side up, and swiss cheese) and one Saint Malo ($14.5: ham, sautéed mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, basil, and olive oil). You can ask for any egg preparation, I chose scrambled. Opened for long hours each day they are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. The tiny bistro is a powerhouse of excellent, friendly customer service. It is adequately staffed with friendly counter help who care about your dining experience. The three times I have been there in the last month indicates consistent excellence and quick, though not hurried service. There are well prepared croissants (prepared in site daily) in addition to an authentic pain au chocolate. I plan to eat my way across their dessert case and will keep you posted on my progress. TWO THUMB UP - this is a 'must do' destination, especially when in need of respite from the day-to-day stresses of life. Treat yourself to a French stay-cation without leaving the CBD.

I read all of the amazing reviews on Yelp and was convinced to place it in my bookmarks of places to try! Entry into this café is a little surprising. It doesn't look that flash from outside, but when you walk in it is cleverly decorated with all sorts of quirky art. The service is really friendly and inviting. The staff obviously love working there as they are quite chirpy. After having a look at the menu, I could not go past the opportunity to try the soup of the day. Pumpkin soup has always been one of my favs and it is one that is really comforting on a cold day. The pumpkin soup was served with some lovely toasted bread and butter. It smelt divine when it arrived in front of me. The taste was creamy with a slight chilli flavour. They must have used some sort of Moroccan spices? I think it was a little bit salty for my palate, but it was really satisfying and filling. Courtyard out the back is really cute. I think it is the perfect destination for ladies in the area to catch up with their girlfriends for lunch and coffee. I will return to try other items on their menu as it seems to be very popular in the Yelp community.

This creperie only opened its newly renovated doors on Wednesday. We waited about 10 minutes for a table to become available and we then grabbed a seat at the communal table in the middle of the room. My partner n I ordered 2 lattes which were lovely, they use Fleurieu Milk, and a sweet and a savoury crepe. Our savoury option was the sausage, onion, egg and cheese crepe. The onions were lightly caramelised and the whole dish had been kissed with butter. Our sweet option was banana, chattily, vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce. It was very nice. I believe they make their ice creams on site. The batter for both the sweet n savoury crepe are different, with savoury being much darker. They also have imported French cider, which is meant to be great with a savoury crepe, as well as a selection of local beers too.
