One of the waitresses (with tattoo on her back) needs a run-down on certain offers, and how to be polite.
On Wednesday 22 of April, at about 8pm, I presented my Adelaide University Union Card, which is supposed to entitle me to $10 jugs of Coopers Lager. She stared at it for about 2 minutes and said she doesn't recognise it. I said "is your manager there"; she replied "No". So then I said, "can you ask the girl next to you if she recognises this card?" She strolls on over, like it's a massive burden, and asks the other waitress. I assumed she recognised it, because she chucks the card back to me, and then pours me a jug, in a very grumpy manner. However, I think she's a little upset for some reason because a quarter of the jug is froth. I mentioned "that's a bit of froth isn't it". She firmly replied "That's how we do it here!". So I thought it'd be wise to take her anger on the chin and leave it at that. However, this waitress then goes to the other girl working, and whispers something to her. It was definitely something negative, because I get a dirty look from her as she walks passed. Perhaps she was very upset because I mentioned the jugs having about two beers worth of froth. Fancy that! Her getting annoyed at me. When I got back to the table I asked my mates if I was the one who was impolite, just to make sure that my manners were in check. They agreed that something wasn't right with that waitress. They also mentioned that they heard the waitress complain to the other girl about me asking about the amount of froth in the jug. I think that's extremely bad customer service, and so did everyone else! I went back to get a second jug, and I was served by a different waitress. Everything was done hassle free, thank god, and there was a normal amount of froth on top. I really think this waitress needs a few tips on good customer service. This is a decent pub, but definitely left a bad impression on me that day. read more
