Came here for dinner with friends. The restaurant was very busy with most of the tables reserved. We were able to get a seat and had a great meal. We ordered food to share with the whole table and got to sample a lot more different items. Our server was was very friendly and quite entertaining, he was very helpful when selecting what to order.

Mmm Greek food. There isn't too many Greek restaurants around Adelaide, especially with such a great location like this one. Estia scored an awesome spot in Henley Square (which is my favourite beach area) pretty much right on the sand with awesome water and sunset views. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, with the outside able to be closed off. Estia is always busy, especially during summer, so make sure you book. As for the food, I'm a big fan of Greek, and not just yiros' and feta but the menu at Estia is so extensive and the banquets with a group are the best way to try everything. I'll always remember going there for the first time and having some sort of grilled chicken. I think all I ate was grilled chicken that night.. I am a big chicken fan! But Estia is an awesome restaurant down by a slightly less busy beach area than Glenelg and is in a perfect spot to enjoy a long banquet with friends then walk it off down a lovely beach.

Estia is the place to get your Greek on. Situated in Henley Beach-side surroundings, the food here will transport you to an idyllic Greek island scene. Although slightly biased, I believe that Greek food at its best, is the best. At Estia ordering the banquet secures you get a little taste of everything, because believe me, you will want to. The food here entails a selection of mouth watering Greek delicacies mixed with Mediterranean flavours. You must try the saganaki (pan cooked cheese), however it is all pretty damn good. I am not even going to begin with dessert. The Mediterranean diet, and Estia also remains sensitive to people with special diet restrictions such as vegans and coeliacs. Always a plus. For those interested in the atmosphere, the people are friendly and even the youngest wait staff are bright and professional. Additionally as briefly mentioned, the Henley Beach location is picture perfect. Highly recommended. Enjoy!

What baffled me was is the way nearly everyone who walked through the door was greeted by name and "same again?" Daniel and Vince are the faces and personality behind coffee by the beans. They live and breathe coffee, but know that it's the people who drink it that are the important factor to success. They practice what they preach and are "always willing to chat" - spending time engaging everyone who walks through the door. If only every business learnt from these guys! But don't get me wrong, the coffee is top notch here. A new single origin on offer every month, and small batch experimentals available to take home with you. Uninhibited, unpretentious, uh-mazing place for a takeaway coffee or quick newspaper read and coffee in a suburb where you have to drive 15 minutes either way to stumble across something as high quality. Don't expect lunch or much food - just go for the coffee and be impressed.

Situated adjacent Grange Beach, this bakery has capacity to sit inside or out, and with the doors and windows wide open, both offer an opportunity to soak up the sea breeze and the sounds of the seaside. I also witnessed a few examples of great customer service to other customers, whilst I was in there. I was greeted so warmly and the staff members were smiling and friendly. Lovely intimate little place with open frontage and sea breeze, pretty bar and even prettier staff. The food was the best I've had in ages, and really good value. For $20 we got a marinara piled with fresh seafood, and my stuffed eggplant was delicious but so filling I did that 'so sorry I can't finish it really was delicious' apologising thing small serve eaters like myself have to do. It's a curse, it really is. The owner was lovely and attentive, checking in with all of his patrons regularly to make sure we were having a nice time. And we were! They had a great wine list and for a boozer like myself, this is paramount. There was a weird white sheet covering one wall and my mind was racing with possibilities of what it could be hiding: turns out they're renovating and extending the dining room. More Cucina Nuova I say! Piu Piu!

So after gazing out over the sea and then dancing at a wine bar in the afternoon with friends I decided to grab a dinner from Cucina Nuova before heading home. It's not on the waterfront, rather on Henley Beach Road but a quick and easy walk. Like many Italian style restaurant/cafes in Adelaide the menu is familiar sounding. Cucina Nuovo has familiar dishes, reasonable prices, and lovely staff. The food is nothing revolutionary but it's yummy and service is lovely. My waitress was a real gem. The only real bone I have to pick (the lack of originality is only a minor point) is that one of the menu items was listed as gluten free, as a coeliac I ordered the meal but asked my lovely hostess to specify to the chef that I really needed everything to be GF. I was then told that one of the sides which comes on the plate with this main (the pollo royale) actually contained wheat. It was an easy enough swap to rice and I was so glad they picked up on it but I don't ever recommend that an institution advertises a GF meal that actually isn't gluten-free. It's a warning to always double check for the consumer as well. After that issue the meal was prepared and I haven't been sick at all so they were very careful. The chicken was tasty and free-range but I would loved a teensy-little bit more moisture, the sauce was very nice (cream-based), the side salad fresh. I seasoned my meal with chilli oil which was lovely and it was nice to be able to add my own, personal level of heat to the dish. I can imagine coming to the beach with a bunch of friends, throwing on a cute summer dress after swimming, and settling down to some (gluten free!) pizzas and white wine.

Must be 30 I reckon. Anyway, I've never been here on my own. I only feel comfortable enough to be there when I'm with my friend who is a Cibo regular (yes, he's a cyclist). I'm not sure what it is exactly. I don't find the red branding relaxing. I don't like the way everyone looks at you when you walk near the place. I don't like the way the people inside look across their newspapers with supercilious stares when my dog walks in accidentally......sometimes there is a long wait......and I don't drink coffee... Now for the positives.....what a great location! And dog friendly! That's probably enough actually. I regularly meet a friend on the beach who walks his dog too and we have a drink and some social time, then walk back. Sitting outside is great for the dogs and it is dog city early morning. Even beating the cyclists most of the time. That's one of the other benefits - it opens at 7am, which is great for the early morning walks. They have T2 tea, which I love, but they don't always get it right. Camomile drifting through the tea strainer/canister thingee to make a very textured drink....Chai lattes very milky and not enough chai.... One tip that a friendly staff member gave me, is that although tea only comes in one cup size, if I order it in a take-away cup, it's larger for the same price. The day she offered that i was so desperate for a big, hot cup of tea that I almost clapped with glee. Then I was too full to drink it all - that will teach me to be greedy. Another tip is to bring a jacket for sitting outside. It's the biggest wind tunnel IN THE WORLD (add in Jeremy Clarkson voice there) and there has been more than one occasion when my friend's Cappucino froth has joined the beach flotsam and jetsam in a gust of anarchy. There's free water accessible easily on the counter...and no doubt I'll be back!
