One of the best yiros in Adelaide. Great selection and served as they do in Greece, wrapped with chips inside! Greek salad to die for. Great service, great food - what more can you ask for?!

From the dips to the lamb cutlets to Greek sausages (Loukaniko) the keftedes are all served perfectly for sharing which makes a night to this establishment perfect for groups. Large range of beers and wines from Greece and that typical Greek warmth and hospitality that the waitress or waiter we dealt with showed to us. Being recommended by others to try I am so glad we did and definitely will be back

This late dinner was overall very relaxing even though we came in off the street so had to sit outside but we enjoyed a cooling breeze after one of Adelaides hot summer days. Service was friendly and competent with a very welcoming host - it was almost as if the whole place had just been transplanted from Greece. A medium sized bar with some interesting Greek craft beers. Definitely will be back for a more extensive review. Recommend booking a few weeks in advance as it is small. An update: we returned mid week for dinner and were treated to warm and friendly service again! This time we had beef shoulder and the traditional lamb and beef patties. The shoulder was the highlight smothered with delicious tomatoes and sitting on a very tasty sauce. Our entree was the octopus cooked in wine - succulent! Not tough at all which I think is a sign of good octopus cooking? Salad was very interesting lentil and pomegranate - also yum. Desert was a spongey chocolate tart and reminded me of those self saucing puddings, except it was way more delicious. Drinks were a Greek ipa and the Greek alpha red which reminded me of the reds in southern France. Coffee was excellent.

Estia is hands-down the fanciest and most authentic Greek restaurant I've ever been to. From the moment we walked in, it felt like a getaway to the Mediterranean -- ocean views, warm lighting, and that relaxed Greek island vibe. We ordered the saganaki, chargrilled octopus, kleftiko lamb, and spanakopita -- every single dish was perfection. Like, flavour explosion, melt-in-your-mouth, zero-faults kind of good. The loukoumades and baklava for dessert? Unreal. Sweet, crispy, soft -- 10/10. Service was next-level. Super friendly staff, quick service even though it was packed, and they surprised me with a free dessert for my birthday! The staff made me feel like family. Not cheap, but totally worth it. The food, the setting, the whole atmosphere -- it's a special place. I'll be coming back for every celebration... or just when I miss Greece. Pro tip: Book ahead and try to go at sunset. The view over Henley Beach is unreal.

We were seated immediately and treated like we were long time customers. The food was great. We had shareables for two of us. Dip with pita, spanakopita, and grilled cheese with olive oil and lemon. The only thing better than the food was the service and the view of the ocean from an outdoor table was wonderful. We loved it so much we made reservations for next week to try the calamari that we saw passing through. Can't wait.

Smile-worthy stuff. It sets the scene for this modest eatery in the very un-Greek suburb of Hawthorn, in the very un-restaurant-like location of being attached to a Caltex. "Oils ain't oils" as they say, so if you want the good oil on this joint look toward it's picture board - a wall of photos capturing characters who have wined and dined and wined here before. It gives further insight into the humble and fun nature of the place. Smiling Chef Sam Antoniou is found in the kitchen with parents Toula and Peter. They all wield cheeky senses of humour, upping the enjoyment ante of your visit. Ultimately you've come for their food. The best way to tackle it in these family-type digs is to hoard some friends around an Astros banquet. The "Apollo" includes chicken yiros and calamari; adventure into the "Poseidon" and tiropites (cheese triangles), lamb yiros and whitebait await; or brace yourself for the "Zeus" and be further fortified with Greek sausages and prawns. There's a takeaway menu, outdoor tables and car parks at that Caltex. Plonk wise it's licensed but the corkage too is a little cheeky so perhaps play "when in Rome" or Greece as it were with the wine list and try some vino tipples from the homeland.

The setting is suburban to the max and. as Roz said it's very un-glamorously attached to a servo. In true Australian-Greek style, all the mains are served with chips and Pita which are delicious, but they very obligingly leave either, or both off for me if I ask . I suffer from the eat-everything-on-your-plate disease so I sometimes do this to save myself from mostrous serves. This means I'm left to tackle the chicken breast as big as my head and generous salad, which to be honest is probably more than I can handle in itself! They do a bunch of my Greek faves... whitebait, saganaki, meatballs, kalamari and a bunch of others as entrees or mezze. The mains boast every type of souvlaki or yiros, along with moussaka, mix grill, selection of fish, prawns, or even quail.

But when I went into the restaurant, I discovered that nothing was marked -- and moreover, when I went back to look at the online menu, I realized only the appetizers (the first page) were marked. Okay, no big deal. I'll just ask the guy behind the counter, I think. "Pretty much everything on the menu is gluten-free, mate," he says, "So instead of me standing here listing them for you, how about you tell me what you want, and I'll tell you if we can do it." At this point, someone came in to pick up an order, so the guy interrupted his conversation with me to give him his stuff. That took like several minutes. I asked for a couple of skewers. Yeah, that was gluten-free, he said, and so were the chips that accompany them. At this point, he interrupted me again to deal with another customer (or the same one? not sure). Well, I'm American, so it took me a minute to realize chips aren't the same as crisps, and I needed to ask if they have any gluten in the same fryer as the chips. So after he finished with the customer, I asked about the fryer. "I can't guarantee there isn't going to be gluten contamination in the food, mate," he snapped. "Okay, well, I get that, I'm just trying to ask you a simple question," I said. "You've been standing here asking me questions for about ten minutes now," he barked, which pissed me off, since most of the last ten minutes he'd spent *interrupting* my questions to deal with other customers. So I pointed that out, and said, "You know what, it's clear you don't want my business, so I'm just going to go somewhere else." He kept trying to argue with me as I (and my colleague) went out the door. It would have been super easy for this guy to spend two minutes of his time answering some questions, or even politely telling me he was worried nothing in the restaurant would be safe for me. Instead he made it clear that I was not a priority, and then claimed I was wasting *his* time. If you're Celiac or have any food allergies, I do not suggest this business.
