I always entrust my clients to Aime from Glamology, she is hands down the BEST hair and makeup wizard there is, she has the experience of working with brides that get married along the coast and it is so important because the ocean mist and the winds are usually not something to be taken lightly. When it was my turn to get ready for my vow renewal, I wouldn't have trusted anyone but her. She understood very well that I am not someone that normally wears makeup and she listened carefully to my request to make me look as natural as possible. I was glowing, she enhanced my natural features without making me look like a different person, which I was admittedly very nervous about. My hair was done by Malerie, Glamology's curly hair specialist and again, WOW! my hair had never looked better, what's even better is that despite the strong winds and mist in Big Sur that day, my curls looked amazing for 3 days!!!! Also, something that I have not experienced with other stylists, is that she takes the time to talk to you about your expectations, she is quick to respond to any questions and very professional. The whole experience was amazing, the couple of hours that I spent at Glamology on my wedding day were as special as the rest of the day, I would never trust anyone else with doing my makeup, Aime and Glamology forever!

I need an accessible place so I saw this as I was in the area and walked in to make an appointment. My hairstylist was the owner, Irene, and she is fantastic. She gave me the best haircut my unruly hair has had in years. I'm Alaskan Native with thick hair that is hard to style. I had to get used to the amount of time it took. She takes her time. She also blowdries and styles it to make sure it looks just right. I had to leave abruptly because my scheduled bus ride was there. She made an appointment so I could come back and check it. She improved an already great cut. I'm happy with the way she takes her time and checks her work. There are other regulars and they seem to have known each other a long time. One customer brought food in from nearby Dudley's and the two chatted like old friends while the stylist started coloring her hair. I finally found my new hairstylist.

My first experience…read morewas wonderful, they were able to squeeze me in before an appointment, which I was extremely grateful for, they gave me exactly what I asked for and that set the tone for me, finally I found a salon I will love! Or so I thought.. I came back a second time after being assured over the phone they could take us in, great! We're on our way! Mind you we live 35 min away. I come in with my daughter, only one of the ladies was available as soon as we walked in, fine I'll wait, no big deal. After sitting and waiting for the other person to be free (which wasn't long after we arrived) she proceeded to ignore me sitting there, walking past me MULTIPLE times, being reassured by the lady cutting my daughter's hair that they'd be right with me, and then after an hr I am told that they'd had an appointment and didn't have time for me, I understand an appointment take precedence over a walk in, but then why make me wait just to be told no?! STILL, I came back again! Trying to give it yet ANOTHER chance, this time being considerate of THEIR time and making an appointment. I show up for my appointment 10min early, she is still with her current client, no big deal, I'm early. Waiting, waiting, waiting and yes WAITING, I was barely acknowledged when I walked in, and then proceeded to be ignored while the stylist went well past MY scheduled appointment, not once offering any reassurance that she would be right with me, talking and taking her time and completely being inconsiderate of MY time. 20min PAST my scheduled appointment and STILL she talked and laughed even inviting another employee into the conversation further prolonging the other person's appointment and completely ignoring me and my time. Unless they know you personally and have built a relationship with you, don't bother coming here, you'll be completely ignored and made to feel completely irrelevant. I don't make it a habit of writing reviews, even when I've left feeling less than satisfied, however when I try so hard to give a business the opportunity to keep me coming back and they continue to give me reasons not to come back, I have to voice my experience. And no, I wasn't a Karen or rude, I simply walked out.

Black on top with red underneath. Pedro Trujillo, Maritza's brother, was the beautician who told me he could preform the hair color trend. When I arrived he took 20 minutes to eat his lunch. When I was in the chair he went next door to Walgreens's and got Splat semi permanent BOX HAIR DYE. That obviously didn't work so he went to Sally Beauty and purchased another semi permanent hair dye, which he told me to APPLY MORE EVERY TWO WEEKS!!! I asked for permanent so I didn't have to do my own hair. Hence the reason I went to a salon. He should've had all the products needed in his salon. He took 5 hours to do a service that should've taken an hour and a half max. He did not wear gloves, use a brush to apply color, or wrap individual pieces with foil. He grabbed, pulled, and scrunched my hair to apply the color. I had dye on my neck, forehead, and ears. He gave a walk-in haircut and made me sit and wait. I had an appointment. This was the absolute worst experience I've ever had in my 51 years. The color lasted two weeks. I asked for a permanent hair color trend. A simple task that any licensed professional beautician should be able to perform. I called Maritza and she apologized at first m, then when I asked for a refund, it ended in her threatening me with religious prosecution! This was absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional as a business owner. Pedro Trujillo Sanchez also was yelling at me in front of clients when I went back in for the receipt I wasn't given the day of service. Also unacceptable and unprofessional. This Salon is called "A New Look Salon." BUT they do not have their business name on the business. It's MB Salon. Maritza has changed the name of her business a few times...they do not offer receipts. Dealing with a lot of cash, hmmm I wonder if it's being reported properly? DO NOT GO TO THIS BEAUTY SALON. Worst service ever. ZERO STARS.... CERO ESTRELLAS...
