Makeup and hair turned out exactly how i like it! My wonderful hair stylist did my hair with two looks in one. For the beginning of the day, we did and updo and then it was half up/down at night. Really enjoyed their presence and patience with my bridesmaids and me! My makeup artist was amazing!!! I forgot to catch her name but she really listened to me and fixed the parts of the makeup I didn't like during my trial (was a different artist). My hair person was incredible! The only thing I wish they wouldn't do as a studio is charge for gratuity at the time of booking. I also think they could ease up on their deposit requirements. My venue didn't even require nearly as much for deposit. So, it can feel like a blind investment. Thank goodness their work turned out great! read more

I had the BEST experience at blush. Diana did an amazing job on my makeup, it was exactly like the inspiration in the picture. She also was very quick without being rushed or compromising the quality of the service. I had a terrible hair experience at another salon and was desperate for someone to fix it before the wedding I was attending. Blush didn't have any available hairstylists and none of the surrounding salons were answering their phones. They went ABOVE AND BEYOND and the sweet girl at the front (I didn't get her name) WALKED yes WALKED to the surrounding salons to find me an urgent last minute appointment. They truly saved the day not only with the beautiful makeup but by also helping me figure out how to fix my hair, when it was not their problem! I can't say enough positive things about blush! To add more challenges I got horribly sunburnt the day prior standing outside for my rehearsal, and Evelyn didn't let me panic and did an OUTSTANDING job of covering the sunburn on my face and neck! Very nice ladies overall, but hated how my makeup Came out, at the end of the day my makeup was almost completely gone. I told the makeup artist I had oily skin multiple times and still did nothing about it, she used makeup forever crème face pallet and didn't even use real foundation. Also they don't know how to do Hispanics makeup who have dark under eyes. Could visibly still see My dark circles and the creasing was horrible. There was no coverage at all and makeup slipped right off my face. Would not recommend this company for makeup. Hair was fine, although my moms did not turn out good at all It looked like a bee hive in the back and the stylist cut my mom's "bangs" to have them shorter and style in the front and didn't even do that. I worked with Blush for my May 2024 wedding in Los Gatos and had a fantastic experience with them! Sam and Marissa were both lovely to work with, and made me (and my girls) feel beautiful! Prior to the wedding I had done a wedding hair trial and had done separate engagement photoshoot makeup with them, so I went into my wedding day feeling confident about how the overall look would come out, and the adjustments I wanted to make for my wedding day. Plus, I knew the two of them were super friendly, and would make for a fun and easy morning! On the day of the wedding, they were super timely and kept us well on schedule! They are true professionals, and knew exactly how to achieve the modifications I wanted, providing suggestions and checking with me throughout the entire process to make sure it was looking how I hoped. They serviced all 10 of my bridesmaids and a few family members whom all had great things to say about them afterwards. I still use their services today in 2024 through milestones such as baby showers and holiday events. They are professional, personable, and amazing at what they do. I definitely recommend bridal trials before the big day because you can discuss what you like and didn't like so they can listen to you and offer their expertise and make corrections until you're happy with the results! Evelyn my makeup artist for my wedding did such an incredible job! I loved my makeup so much and she brought such a relaxed but fun vibe for the day. She was even so courteous and easy going when a plus one came in and asked if my makeup artist could put her lashes on. Blush did my wedding makeup last year. I had requested a specific artist since that was who I was following on Instagram and whose work I liked. They assured me that artist would be doing my makeup on my wedding day. Day of my wedding comes around and I open the door for the makeup artist and it is a completely different artist. I had no idea who she was. Since it was my wedding day, I obviously had a schedule to keep and did not have time to get someone else. She did my makeup OKAY, but that was not what I wanted for my big day. They could of AT LEAST called to notify me it would be someone else. They clearly have no regard for customer service. RUDE * CONDESCENDING * UNPROFESSIONAL I booked Blush for my daughter's upcoming wedding in October. Paid the $850=50% deposit required. Since the bride had a heavy work load and couldn't make an extra trip from LA to Carmel, my other daughter and I decided we should do a trial just to make sure we were all on the same page.  We booked trial hair for me, makeup for her, which was an additional $320.  I would strongly advise anybody to do a trial before booking this salon. This is why.... Date of the trial, we arrived right on time. The makeup artist was late and arrived in a very bad mood. From the start she was very rude & condescending. For the most part she wasn't interested in having any dialogue and especially didn't want to hear about our expectations or preferences either. When myself or my daughter would ask questions or try to explain to her what we wanted, she would quickly shut us down. In fact, when I told her that the bride doesn't ever wear makeup and I was wondering if she can make hers look very natural, as if she wasn't really wearing makeup at all, she snipped at me with a very annoyed expression on her face and said, "I've done over 500 weddings before, I know what I'm doing!" Combative and uninterested are the best words to describe her. She and the receptionist also spent the majority of the appointment complaining about/bashing other clients by name. My daughter's makeup was hideous. The foundation was so thick that if you poked it, you'd cause a dent in it. Not to mention, it was yellow and didn't match her skintone at all. The false eyelashes looked like two big black butterflies sitting on her eyelids, lined with thick black liner that was crooked. Her eyes were practically glued shut from the lash glue & it took about a week to fully get the glue off.  As far as my hair....I showed the hairdresser photos of the two hairstyles I was interested in. She told me I didn't have enough hair for one but that the other would look great on me so we agreed to do that one. As I tried to turn my body to look in the mirror, she quickly spun me around & said, "we don't do it that way." She proceeded to turn me in a direction where I couldn't see the mirror. She insisted I have to wait to see the finished product. The hairstyle we were going for was a soft, romantic looking up-do. Meaning, light curls pulled up to the top of the back of the head in an elegant manner, where wispy, soft falling curls framed the face. She spent about 15 minutes curling, spraying & pulling my hair up & with every stroke of the comb she dowsed me with hairspray. When she finished and turned me around to see myself in the mirror, my first response was, "oh, no!" And I started pulling on the matted down hair that had been stuck to my head to loosen it. It wouldn't move.  To be honest, I'm not an elderly looking 60 year old but this hairdo made me look like Granny from the Beverly Hillbillies. My blonde hair was hard to the touch from product that made it look dark & unnatural.  It was pulled back in an old lady bun about the size of a quarter, at the nape of my neck, which looked ridiculous. It was so far off from what we were going for, I couldn't believe it. The few little strands she had pulled down & curled in spirals were hard as a rock and not falling naturally at all. In fact, if the wind had blown it would blow these curly little sticks up into the air without changing shape or having the ability to move in the wind. She said to me, "don't you feel pretty?!" I said, "no, not at all."  She proceeded to (very pitifully) put her arms around my shoulders and tell me she is sad that I don't see myself as pretty, that she actually thinks I'm a beautiful woman...I was NOT at all attempting to illicit sympathy. Rather, I was trying to explain that what she did to my hair was simply not pretty at all. I told her I think my hair was too short for that style as she had pointed out the other one would be and that maybe we could try to turn it into a half up-do, leaving my length down & pulling a bit from the sides to the back & giving it some height on top. She proceeded by making little braids on the sides and pulling them to the back. It was just so bad. At the end of the day, we are SO HAPPY we did the trial run, which we should have done before signing a contract with this company. We would have been devastated had we had this kind of results on wedding day. Having booked this 6 months out and canceling with 2 months to go & plenty of time to book others for this day, you'd think they would consider giving a refund of that $850 deposit. I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND. read more

Everyone's hairstyles turned out so beautiful and lasted all day, which is saying a lot because my hair very rarely holds curls and they really did stay for 12+ hours! This was my second time with Blush Monterey for hair/makeup and I am always so happy with the results! The first time I got my Hair/makeup done by Blush was for a wedding I was in as a bridesmaid. I was obsessed back in 2018 and when we picked our venue in Monterey, CA (May 2024) - I knew that I had to go with them for my big day. Due to COVID our original wedding plans changed from SF to Monterey so I had to find a new hair and makeup artist. I saw the great reviews for blush and decided to reach out. Booking was very easy and they were very responsive. The day of my wedding I had my hair done by Marisa and makeup was done by Lydia. I wasn't sure of what hairstyle I wanted and Marisa asked me what I felt the prettiest in and we went with a half up half down hair do that looked amazing after an entire day of standing around in windy conditions. They also told me that my photographer can come join me. On the day of, they gave me no space to get ready. In fact, they made me wait 30 minutes because they were behind schedule. When my photographer came, they were very hostile to the photographer. They asked that he not take photos of the other customers, and my photographer agreed, but they continued to give him attitude. I was 30 minutes behind schedule - I would really give yourself a good buffer if you plan on doing your hair/makeup in salon. My hairstylist was very kind. I sent the salon photos of styles that I did not want, but I still received a final product of something that wasn't on point and had some factors of styles I was trying to avoid. However, it was beautiful - just not exactly what I was looking for. I heard other hairstylists bad mouthing customers after they left. I felt very uncomfortable. Avoid if looking for professional communication in scheduling and accommodation for a smaller size wedding.

They did a terrible job with my make up. They applied with fingers instead of brushes and when they did use brushes they were brittle hurt my face. Lydia did not even ask me if my skin was sensitive or dry - she in fact told me it was dry multiple times. She also stripped my moisturizer off with a drying toner without asking me first. I have extremely sensitive skin and the toner left a burning feeling on my face. She used the wrong shade of foundation and left my skin inflamed and painful. The foundation didn't even blend so it was splotchy and red when I left. I even asked to a couple of fixes at the end but I had to do them myself because her next client was there. Even though we started late due to Lydia's set up time. The first time I went to blush was in November and a younger gal did my make up. She did an ok job but I still had to go home and fix it. I thought I'd try then again and this was 10x worse. I can't believe that Lydia would even call herself a professional make up artist. Almost all her pallets were broken. She applied make up with her fingers. She made my face hurt and insulted my skin. Save your money and request someone else so just don't go here. read more

If you're having your wedding in Monterey, I definitely recommend having them do your hair and makeup. My best friend's ceremony started at 1PM but we needed to be ready by 10:30AM at the latest. Since we had a large bridal party, we had to get ready as soon as 5:30AM. Professionally, Blush arrived on time, set upped, and was ready to get started as soon as 5:30AM rolled around. Luckily, they were familiar with our Airbnb and knew exactly where the outlets were and the best space to set up at. Lydia was responsible for my makeup - it was flawless! She took her time on my face and was able to create a soft glam look. All I had to say was "soft glam" and she already had an idea of what to do. Since I'm not makeup savvy and usually do a low maintenance look daily, the experience of having her do my makeup was quite enjoyable and relaxing. Lydia took her time even though it was 5:30AM and she didn't have her first cup of coffee yet. The time on her chair is well worth it! I'm writing this review a day later, and I kid you not...my makeup is still intact. My skin did not feel cake-y or crack-y during yesterday's festivities from the tearful ceremony to the sweaty dance floor. Katie took over my hair - all I had to do was show her a pic from Pinterest and BAM! She imitated it PERFECTLY. Katie was able to create the look and she did not give up on my hair until she felt satisfied with it. Some places would have just did it and be done with it even if it didn't look quite right especially if there were several girls that needed to be fixed up. I wanted to get my makeup done for my elopement. They wouldn't allow me to pick the less expensive option I had selected from their menu and explained that since I'm getting married there's an upcharge even after I explained I didn't want airbrush or lashes or anything of the sort, just very natural. I also explained it was a casual elopement that would last all of 30 mins, no guests, and that I haven't used social media in years and I don't post any pictures in case that is their concern. I would do my makeup myself I'm just not good at it and I just wanted to treat myself due to it being a special day in general (dinner plans etc.). They still would not budge on the price due to it being a marriage occasion as that is their policy even though it was not a traditional wedding and the "getting married" part was a tiny portion of the day (literally no florals, wore my hiking boots and a simple inexpensive dress I ordered online etc). I found someone else who did my makeup for less than half the price and did a great job and she came to me so in the end I lucked out. I understand being charged more for more elaborate work, photography, longer lasting etc. but in my case I was not doing any of that so it was just a blatant upcharge because I was getting married. read more

Worked with blush a couple times and was pleased with their services. But when I attempted to schedule another appointment and make changes to mistakes that were made on their end, the receptionist I spoke with was very condescending and rude. I attempted to make a standard makeup appointment with them, which I have done in the past, but was sent an invoice for a bridal makeup. I called the following day to inform her that I am not a bride and to book a makeup appointment for two, but she continued to insist that I had told her otherwise despite multiple attempts of stating that I was not asked whether or not I am a bride. I am giving 2 stars because I actually received their services as a bride already, but I was very displeased with the receptionist's unprofessionalism. Will not be booking with them again. read more

I actually had booked another hair and makeup artist for my wedding but didn't feel 100% right about it and I'm so grateful I did because Blush really delivered! Liz was so communicative throughout the process and sent over all necessary info for myself and bridal party. I am SO incredibly lucky to have been paired with Evelyn for make up and Katie for hair because they did a phenomenal job at making my feel still like myself but truly the most gorgeous I have ever left in my life. I did a trial a week before my wedding and so glad I did because Evelyn and Katie were able to help iron out all the kinks (apparently my forehead, face and neck are all different colors ) and Evelyn was able to smooth everything out! Katie was so gracious about me considering 3 different hairstyles and made sure my hair was perfect on the day of. Not only did they deliver in quality of the service, but their team was able to get myself and my bridesmaids done EARLY which set us up for success for the rest of the day and ensured a smooth and stress free timeline on my wedding day. I worked with Blush for my wedding, and the team was wonderful and talented! I'd definitely recommend anyone from the studio- They're all so personable and kind, and make you feel so comfortable and at ease on your big day. I'm not a big makeup person, and felt so comfortable with my full face! It photographed amazingly, and the girls were so accommodating of a lash change and other requests. They know what they're doing, and everyone looked amazing. I have to give a special shoutout to Brooke, who did my hair. Not only did she manage my long thick hair like a pro but she went above and beyond the call of duty! She finished doing hair while makeup was still going on, and jumped in to help put together my welcome sign for the wedding. It was SO appreciated! She has been working for hours and easily could have taken some downtime, but instead chose to help the wedding party with last minute details. She's truly a wedding angel! read more
