Tara did my brows over a year ago. I don't ever write reviews, why , I don't know but I saw the 2 poor reviews and just feel like I need to respond. First of all, in case anyone hasn't noticed, it's Covid shut down. Tara's business has been reopened and shut down several times. The cancellations aren't her fault. She shouldn't get bad reviews for that. Then I will say you can't please everyone so a couple bad reviews won't break her. But then I thought no, no she doesn't deserve those reviews. This here I am writing my own I came to Tara through my hair person. I was skeptical to say the least. I had had microblading but it didn't stick...not by Tara. So I saw Tara and she made my brows the best ever. I'm on the older side of brows, but definitely still have very dark brows (dark hair). I didn't want them to look like they were stamped on my forehead. They don't. Even after a year plus, they are still good, don't even need a touch up. I seriously love them. Loved Tara and her personality. She is very customer oriented, took time to talk to me to know what I expected and what I liked. So to go back to my previous comment, you can't please everyone. This woman has had zero training or education. Read her little bio blurb...! she uses a powder brow which is totally outdated I now know... I asked for dark brown and she laid it down black. we had an appointment for a touch up after the original application which she flaked out on a half an hour before then. wouldn't respond to any of my texts. Then we went into her professional clean private studio for the procedure. She was all set up and on time, she explained the whole procedure and process. I got ombré powder eyebrows and I am extremely dissatisfied. The procedure did not work for my skin type (oily skin) after paying over $650. After much thought, I don't like to write bad reviews but In this case I feel untitled responsible, to help some one avoid this issue with her service; Not professional at all, does not keep appointment, she canceled several times, this is before Covid-19. The day of my appointment, she texted me saying, she had a doctors appointment, this is hours before my appointment time. Then when I finally went I and got my eyebrows done, I gave her a good tip like 50 dollars, so she would understand that I do appreciate her job and all, That same day she scheduled my appointment, well she canceled and canceled, many times. I have to say I don't trust this woman. She seems very self-centered and not much in the customer service department. She pulled a fast one on me letting me make a deposit but not telling me that it was not refundable. I didn't find that out till I signed the paperwork weeks later. She already had in mind when she looked at my brows what she was going to do. She wasn't really listening to what I wanted other than the color. Her price also went up between last year and now and didn't let me know until after I had made the deposit. So first off my brows were messed up! I had an eyebrow piercing when I was a teen so now my hair wont grow where the piercing was. After I put down the $100 deposit to hold the appointment Tara was 15 minutes late to that appointment, in hindsight a huge red flag. As I stood there and watched her shuffle around trying to get everything ready I had a bad feeling but I wanted the brows done. The brows were okay but unfinished and after the second appointment she said she wanted me back 'on her' for another session. I agreed. One month later on the day of this appointment she cancelled 2 hours before. After that she dropped out of sight entirely and would not respond to my requests to reschedule. Fast forward another month later to the Wednesday evening before Thanksgiving she text me as if nothing had ever happened (or not happened as the case may be.) I had already had the Brows finished at a reputable salon on the peninsula. I was a teacher in Salinas for 26 years and wanted to support local businesses and believe that I could have a quality experience. I'm very sorry I did. Tara is super sweet plus I think she is absolutely amazing! She takes her time and does exactly as you ask. She will also check in with you periodically to ask if you are comfortable or having any pain. With the Ombre Powder Brows I had very little discomfort and zero bleeding. I think I feel asleep briefly during one of my sessions. The process is more simple than I had anticipated and the 7 day follow up care was manageable. I went in for my 2 sessions followed by a couple of brow boosts because I like my brows a little on the darker side. I'm done for now and my brows are on fleek!
