We called many places up and down the peninsula and the prices were very high for the teams and even higher if we wanted them to travel and work at the venue the day of. We found Vanessa the owner of Studio Nine through one of her stylists Josh. Josh cuts my husband's hair at Furey's Old Town Barbershop and got us in contact with her. We setup an appointment and were not disappointed with her salon. Her salon has a high glam aesthetic that you cannot find in Salinas. Her prices are extremely reasonable and she is so kind and welcoming. The day of the wedding we had some minor hiccups with our ladies but mostly because of lack of communication on the ladies parts. One of them did not communicate the exact look she wanted so it was redone and another did not realize that the price they were quoted was the base amount and goes up depending on difficulty and length. So make sure that you communicate to your parties the prices are a base and to over communicate the looks they want. Overall however our ladies loved them! We heard raving reviews from all the ladies at the wedding venue when they arrived and they all looked absolutely phenomenal. The prices were reasonable and the location is a gem. I would use them again in a heartbeat for an event.

For my second visit I went in and decided to change the tone of my blonde and bring down my shadow root to make my roots look more blended (because I was lazy and didn't want to maintain it). The third time I went in to get a haircut and she did an amazing job helping me achieve something that framed my face well. This last time I went in to get a full balayage since my hair has grown quite a bit and she and Kim gave me my hair goals. I really appreciate the honesty and how willing they are to work with you in every step of your hair journey. I love coming to the salon because it has such a welcoming environment, every time I'm here it feels like I'm reconnecting with old friends.

Lemme tell ya...Stephanie saved my life…read more Two weeks ago, I had another salon do my hair since my best friends wedding is quickly approaching. What resulted was a complete disaster, especially since she was only supposed to touch up my roots. To her credit, the other gal wanted to fix it but I didn't want to risk her damaging my normally very curly hair with more chemicals. So once I got home from that appointment, I immediately searched for someone else and Stephanie was lovely enough to squeeze me in Two weeks later and here I am. My appointment was first thing this morning and lemme tell you... I'm LOVING my hair! She blended in the choppy roots, killed the brass and suppressed the 90s vibe it was channeling. "Elated" doesn't describe how happy I truly am! She's awesome, great personality and definitely makes time fly when you're sitting in her chair! Do I recommend her? ABSOLUTELY! Speaking of which, I'm gonna book another appointment with her now that I remember...

I contacted Stephanie via Yelp, and she replied to me within an hour. I was so excited to know that Stephanie does this type of coloring, and so I made an appointment. It was a year ago, in January 2018. Since then, I've been seeing Stephanie every 6 weeks as I need to constantly color my grey hair. Every time it is a pure joy and pleasure! She listens carefully what I'd like to do with my hair, from a haircut to a specific color, and suggests what would be the best. Stephanie never promises to do something that can't be done. Another great thing is that the time allocated for the haircut is purely yours! Stephanie doesn't take multiple clients at a time, her attention is 100% yours all the time. I always look forward next appointment with Stephanie, as I know it would be a quality time with interesting conversations, and in the end I will leave her salon with an amazing haircut and a great hair color! P.S. Tip - look for Stephanie's Instagram, to check most recent photos.

I always entrust my clients to Aime from Glamology, she is hands down the BEST hair and makeup wizard there is, she has the experience of working with brides that get married along the coast and it is so important because the ocean mist and the winds are usually not something to be taken lightly. When it was my turn to get ready for my vow renewal, I wouldn't have trusted anyone but her. She understood very well that I am not someone that normally wears makeup and she listened carefully to my request to make me look as natural as possible. I was glowing, she enhanced my natural features without making me look like a different person, which I was admittedly very nervous about. My hair was done by Malerie, Glamology's curly hair specialist and again, WOW! my hair had never looked better, what's even better is that despite the strong winds and mist in Big Sur that day, my curls looked amazing for 3 days!!!! Also, something that I have not experienced with other stylists, is that she takes the time to talk to you about your expectations, she is quick to respond to any questions and very professional. The whole experience was amazing, the couple of hours that I spent at Glamology on my wedding day were as special as the rest of the day, I would never trust anyone else with doing my makeup, Aime and Glamology forever!
