Took a nice day to myself. Was looking for a legit spot that I can get a massage at and am I glad that I came across pimalai thai massage. I had TI TI she was so good! She always checked in to see if the pressure was good. Hands down one of the top Thai massages I've had. The space is clean and smells good. Plenty of parking and good price! Pimalai Thai Wellness - Massage Therapy Near Me - San Diego , California

While in town for a conference, I tried the 90-minute Signature Massage which was described as a combination of Thai and Swedish massage. Overall, I left feeling slightly disappointed, though there were definitely some highlights. The pros: parking was easy, scheduling online was simple and convenient, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. The standout part of the experience was the therapist walking on my back, which was actually my favorite portion of the massage. The brief stretching at the end was also enjoyable and felt beneficial. The cons: outside of the back walking and final stretching, the Swedish massage portion felt disjointed and choppy. The flow never really came together, and it felt as though the therapist may not have been fully trained in traditional Swedish massage techniques. I also wasn't a fan of the oil that was used. More oil had to be applied between what felt like nearly every stroke, which interrupted the experience, and the scent was quite antiseptic and clinical rather than relaxing. Since this was my first visit, I don't have much to compare it to at this particular business, but based on this experience, it didn't quite meet my expectations. There were some unique elements I enjoyed, but the overall massage lacked the smooth, relaxing flow I was hoping for. read more

I visited Pimalai Thai Wellness with my mom a few weeks ago while I was in California visiting from D.C. We just wanted a good massage, nothing fancy. I'll admit, I was skeptical at first. They seemed new and didn't have many reviews, and as a Yelp Elite, I usually rely heavily on reviews. But we decided to give it a shot. I'm really glad we did. I asked for deep tissue, and they did not hold back. For a large portion of the massage, my masseuse actually walked on my back -- fully standing and balancing herself using the rails attached to the ceiling (you can see it in the photos I posted). Not just for a quick moment either -- this was a consistent technique throughout the session. I've always said during stressful times that I wish someone would just walk on my back. I didn't think that would literally happen. And honestly, it was exactly what I needed. The pressure was deep but controlled. She shifted her weight carefully and worked directly into my upper back, where I carry most of my tension. It felt intense in the best way. I've only ever seen that style of massage in movies, so experiencing it in real life was pretty surreal. They also incorporated hot stones, which helped everything settle afterward. The room was clean, calm, and comfortable -- simple and relaxing. My mom was in the next room and loved her massage too. What stood out most was how they cared for her. She's legally blind and has some mobility challenges, and they took the time to walk her to the room and make sure she was comfortable before starting. That meant a lot to both of us. The lobby and bathroom were clean, there was plenty of parking, and it's tucked into a quiet strip mall in a nice area. For the quality and the price, it was absolutely worth it. I would definitely return the next time I'm in California. read more

Great massage place if you are sore. Everytime my body feels tight this is the my come too place always feel my body loosen up when I leave.

Solid 5/5!! I got a combo (Thai/Swedish) massage for 60 mins. Calling to make an appointment was easy and they had same day availability. Check in was peaceful, the space was clean and a comfortable temperature and the massage was INCREDIBLE! The Thai portion involves lots of stretching and pressure points and I was so happy with how much my muscles and back were worked out. The Swedish massage was in the 2nd half and was deeply relaxing with oils. In the combo that included full body: legs, feet, back, arms, hands, shoulders, upper chest/neck, light face/jaw, and a scalp massage. This was one of the better massages I've had in San Diego and was completely worth the money! 5/5 recommended! read more

I highly recommend this business. It is clean, efficiently run and welcoming. I had one of the best massages ever! The staff seem well trained and very polite. I was apprehensive since I had never been to this business before and was visiting from out of state but shortly after starting the massage I was able to really relax. The touch was exactly what I needed. The oils and scents used were sublime. I left feeling refreshed and invigorated. Thank you very much! read more

There's nothing new to say other than what the other yelpers have already shared! This is really the one of the best massages I've ever had. No frills no fuss. Get the job done every single time. I also love the availability of hours they have and their flexibility. A short call and you're scheduled. They get out my knots, and any kinks in my back. I pretty much get a massage here weekly. Invest in your body and make this part of your self care routine. read more

Incredible massage. I got the Pimalai and it was perfect. Warm and smelled good and peaceful music. Will definitely be back.

I just had one of the best massages of my entire life. As soon as Nina started in on my 60 minute Thai massage, I immediately regretted that I didn't book a longer treatment. She hit every spot that needed to be relaxed and worked on, was extremely professional and thoughtful, and could not have given me a better treatment. I can't recommend her enough. She could have charged double for the quality of treatment she just did. read more

OMGooooosh! New Bay Park Gem! It's a local healing center right here in the neighborhood! I just walk in after a long few weeks and got my 1st Ever 1 Hour Thai Massage Treatment. Somehow Julia was able intuitively find all my issues from head to toe, and literally gave me total relief form my Back pain of 4 months, my shoulder pain of 1 year, and several other little kinks and things that were off or out of alignment. I would highly recommend Julia, and and this place. Such a calm and relaxing experience, at a really great price. I actually was just looking for a massage, but ended up being healed from pain for the 1st time in awhile, and the price was amazing too at just 75 bucks for the 1 hour treatment. I will definitely be going back on a regular basis. Thank you Thank you Thank you! read more

I was in town for a conference and it was so wonderful I stopped by twice! Conveniently located across from the del Coronado, LUXSA is located on the second floor in a corporate structure with plenty of parking. Nina and Stacie were my therapists and both were great! I had the 90-minute massage both times and I felt relaxed and rejuvenated. The space is quite small, but overall it was an excellent service provided by LUXSA. There number is 619-663-9995 and the email is info@luxsathaispa.com or visit online at www.luxsathaispa.com HIGHLY RECOMMEND! read more

I extremely helpful , great service , and great prices . Told I had shoulder pain and made it her priority to make my body feel better . Sweet lady , she asks if you want medium or strong strength . I asked for strong , and I was not expecting the strength of the lady . Awesome service ! read more

Luxsa is a hidden gem right across from the Coronado Hilton. They are quick to get you in (same day appointments!) and are super nice when scheduling. We received a couples massage and were blown away by the fantastic massages! Thai Swedish style, deep tissue massages were 10/10 the best massages we have ever received. They are very good at keeping you feeling covered up and private, the massage is fantastic and the service is above average. They sanitize between patients and run a full system sanitation after all daily patients.I will be returning on my next trip to Coronado! read more

Amazing! I did the 60 minute Thai massage and it hurt so good! My upper back and shoulders have been aching for a few weeks now and just one session has me feeling great. I highly recommend. read more

I was lucky enough to essentially have a walk in appointment on a Saturday. My neck and shoulders were killing me and I had a long plane ride coming up so I was desperate for some relief. I've had a Thai massage before so there were no surprises but man was I stretched out . 60 minutes was the perfect amount of time for me and I indicated gentle pressure which was great. If you're on the island and you have time I recommend checking them out. read more

BEST. MASSAGE. EVER. I came here with my friend for a massage for my birthday, and we received a 60min couples massage, deep tissue, with hot stones. These ladies truly know what they are doing!!! I had never felt more relaxed and at ease. They stretched, kneaded, massaged, and contorted my body in ways no masseuse ever had before, and I have gotten plenty of massages from many different spas all over! I felt so incredibly peaceful and nearly fell asleep. They cracked my back too. The massage ended with a bottle of water and some candy. It was so renewing and restorative. I am incredibly thankful. read more

Got the couple massage with the wife. Very good massage by both ladies. One was Cindy while i Zforgot the second . Originally didn't want a person stepping on the both of us but midway Cindy asked if it was ok in which I replied ok. She was treats Very strong and firm. Told me my back was very tight snd recommended i come visit more frequently. Only down side is i don't live in sd! Anyways, the massage was 90 minutes for 170. Very fair price for two person. Definitely would go back. My only complaint that we both had was the face . I believe it's like a donut type circular pillow on top of the hole- guessing it is a washable item for covid. But it was very hard to get used to faced down. If you are too high, your throat is on the pillow which makes it hard to breath. If you're too low, your eyes are on the top of the pillow which makes your eyes hurt. Definitely better than being choked when pressure is applied. Anyways, very thorough and long massage. Very friendly price and very nice ladies. Thank you! We will be back! read more

I will definitely be back for a longer massage session. Thank you Luxsa Thai Spa! read more

The absolute BEST massage I've EVER had! Highly recommend the hybrid (Thai & Swedish) combo of stretching and massage.

My 2 daughters and I all agreed it was the best massage ever. Friendly service very clean.

Went for a massage , it was mediocre... paid in cash and proceeded to hand the masseuse a $10 dollar tip/ told them I'd try them again the following weekend.. the masseuse said that tips are to be "20% only" and she would need to ask the owner if we could make a reservation for next weekend. Never coming back, really appalling. read more

Very very very nice massage service! We did a couple massage and they have complimentary hot stones for that. The entire experience was awesome! We didn't do the deep tissue but the regular Thai+Sweden massage is intense enough. We felt so well rested, relaxed and stretched after the 60min. Will definitely come back! read more

Are you ready to be realigned and unknotted? This unassuming Thai massage spot was a fantastic hidden gem right by the beach and Hotel Coronado. It is a very small spa so I recommend making an appointment. The facilities are very simple and clean. The game changing massage is the reason to go. My friend had never had a Thai massage so I booked her the 90 minute combo (Thai and Swedish). You will undress to your underwear for this one and start face down under a sheet. If you are a delicate flower, this might not be for you. But if you are a knotted up, stressed out, over trained trainer like myself, you need this in your life. The masseuses are kind and knowledgeable women. You can share the level of pressure, spots to focus on and avoid, and then let the masters handle biz!!! I walked out taller and could turn my head!!!! read more

My husband got me a two hour massage for Mother's Day! It was great to say the least! Two hours was a long time and honestly an hour and half in I was good to go, so the remaining thirty minutes, I swapped to be stretched instead which they call the Thai massage and this was the best decision I made! It was the perfect ending to wake me back up!! Loved it! read more
