Life changing experience today with Eric, truly. Could not recommend him more. VERY knowledgeable and it was like he was inside my brain, knowing exactly which spots I was the most sore. Also, I love any business that has doggie greeters :) cannot wait to go back next week! read more

Dru is amazing! He was recommended by a good friend of mine who has been coming to him for over 10 years. After one session with him, I now know why his clients stick with him for many years. I'm a pharmacist and do a combination of traditional weight lifting, yoga sculpt, and started this new Hyrox program that completely destroys my body (mainly my lower back) due to its high volume. After a brief consultation, Dru goes over a game plan with you to determine what muscle groups to work on, what areas to prioritize, and also explains where the root cause of the pain is coming from. I like that he goes hard in the paint and can adjust pressure in areas that are more sensitive. Most importantly, I like that he works WITH you and not ON you, meaning that he will communicate with you throughout the session to make sure that his techniques or elbow placement is in the perfect spot. Most therapists just do their thing and sometimes take feedback as micromanaging or being bossy during the session, but Dru truly caters to your needs and turns off the ego while working with you. After my first session with Dru, my lower back wasn't constantly achy anymore, My shoulders felt like they had more range of motion, and I could turn my neck better than I have in months! If you are looking for quality Bodywork, come see Dru and his team! read more

The staff is very nice and highly skilled at what they do. I felt relief after just one session. Everyone is very friendly, listens to your issues, and genuinely wants to address them. read more

I live a very active lifestyle and I needed to find a massage therapist who wouldn't be afraid to really dig deep. I was lucky enough to work with Audrey in my introduction session and I walked out feeling great. She not only gave me an excellent massage, but exercises to do to help maintain my body at home! She was extremely friendly and was willing to answer all my questions! read more

Best massage therapy place I've found in a long time! My therapist Eric was exceptionally skilled at psoas release, and overall sacrum care. He did a great job listening and adjusting his approach depending on whatever particular issues I was having each session. I felt that he really wanted to understand how he could help me feel my best each time, and his care significantly improved my back and hip pain and tightness over time. I can't say enough great things about Eric and Honest bodywork! read more

Dr. Amy is amazing! I was referred to Honest Bodywork by my previous licensed massage therapist who had to relocate (this is where she'd go for her massages). Amy was amazing and really helped me out with a massage & cupping. Look forward to my next session and so glad I found this place! read more

I'm a tough cookie to please when it comes to massages/ deep tissue work, and Honest Bodywork has been the first place I've found it years that actually feels like it's worth the investment! I have an autoimmune condition that affects my muscle tissue so I often have tension in various parts of my body- specifically hips, lower and upper back, and neck- and working with Dru for the past 3-4 months has given me actual relief for the first time in a few years. I'm also very active / hard on my body from workouts and sports, and working with Dru has allowed me to continue to do what I love with less pain. I really appreciate that Dru is open to feedback on pressure and technique, and asks thoughtful questions to make sure you're getting the outcomes you're seeking as a patient. He starts every session by identifying key areas of focus, and following up afterward to see what the impact was. If you've been frustrated by going to get deep tissue massages and feeling like the pressure isn't hard enough to experience relief, I would highly recommend Honest Bodywork/ working with Dru. It's absolutely been worth the money and time. This is something I wish I would've found years back. read more

I've had many body work sessions in different locations over the years with mild success. After some intense, shoulder and back pain I decided to give it another try. Audrey was amazing! Very professional and attentive. I definitely felt heard as we went over the areas that were in pain and what makes them flare up. This was the first time I felt actual results leaving an appointment. The next day I woke up able to stretch with little discomfort or pain for the first time in about 6 months. I will be returning and would highly recommend trying them out. read more

Still loving this place. Nick has fixed my shoulders and my left knee, and I try to go every 2-3 weeks to keep me pain free. He is a super nice guy and has a fantastic memory and truly cares. He is super strong throughout the whole massage and I am amazed how he can keep it up for the full 60 minutes. Thanks Nick! read more

I came here because my family bought me a birthday coupon for a 2 hr deep tissue massage. I LOVED IT!!! Kat has magic hands and made me feel like a brand new person. My neck felt so tight like I couldn't turn my head left without pain and after leaving I could be shaking my head like a salt shaker! would come back. read more

I had a 60-minute session with Kat. I wish I had booked a 90-minute session instead! I have a shoulder/neck injury, and after 6 months of physical therapy, I still had a lot of discomfort and tightness, so I decided to get a massage. As a very active person with a Thera cane and multiple lacrosse balls, I don't feel a massage will do much more for me. That being said, this was SO much more helpful at working out some areas that have been bothering me for ages. Kat was very professional, and it was a super relaxing massage. She also got many of my most troublesome and hard-to-reach knots loosened in that first session. I felt a noticeable decrease in tightness and increased range of motion. If you have years of muscle imbalances and recurring trigger points, BOOK A LONGER SESSION. Even though we made a lot of progress, I left feeling like we just scratched the surface of the deeper-rooted muscle issues I've been dealing with. I already plan to go back for another session. Finally, some general comments about the facility - parking wasn't bad. The heated bed was really really nice. It's a no-shoes facility so wear socks if you don't want to walk around with bare feet. read more

Saw Kat after being a client of Dru for a couple of years. Kat is AMAZING! Her passion for her profession is clear, and her knowledge of the body and the benefits of bodywork is impressive. She's also very clearly committed to being a lifelong learner within the field of massage therapy and all that it relates to. And - the best part! Kat really gets into those tough spots to get you back to feeling like yourself quickly! The BEST sore feeling ever! 5 stars! read more

I train for Iranman triathlon races and put my body to the test. I have been to so many places that say they do sports massage or body work just to leave with the same tightness i went to releave. Ive seen Amy twice now and know its the real deal. After my body work sessions i feel renewed and ready to push harder. The enviroment is very clean and inviting i truly cant say enough good things about Honest Bodywork. read more

I had the first ever massage of my life with Kat at Honest Bodywork and it was amazing! For context, I'm in my 30s and have had a combination of various back and should injuries over the past few years so I didn't know what to expect. To start, it is an easy place to find and park. The space is clean and calming colors. Kat greeted me and took the time to understand my issues and she recommended a few areas where deep tissue massage might be very helpful. She is great at explaining what she is doing and why as well as being friendly and making you feel relaxed. Even though I'm very ticklish on my back she was very accomidating and understanding. I only had a 60 minute session but afterward, my whole body felt like it stretched; less tension in my chest, back, shoulders, legs, and neck. Even now, after a few days, I feel as though my body has regained some range of motion previously lost and my posture has improved. I'm definitely going back for more and this time I've booked the 90 minute sessions. read more

Nick was amazing on my first visit, I have multiple muscle imbalances issues and he was able to tell what was the root cause of my issues trough out the session. He focused on areas that I was looking to release. I think having this type of body work is very important for anyone with chronic pain. Thanks Nick. read more

I had never done Bodywork or a sports massage before, but with how much I lift weights and am active for my job as a personal trainer, I knew it was probably something I should be doing. I started with a 60 minute session with Kat. She was terrific and worked out every problematic area and by the time I walked out, had me feeling super loose and relaxed. I liked it so much I've decided to do one session a week with her moving forward read more

My body felt brand new after getting my first session done. While I'm a huge fan of massages, this physical therapy is designed to really address the kinks underneath the soreness your experiencing. Thank you! read more

Honest Bodywork - Rates! - Massage Therapy Near Me - San Diego, California

Had my first season with Kat today and it was great. Highly recommend visiting her for any treatment. Will certainly come back for more treatments on a regular basis. read more

Kat is amazing! I have been dealing with lower back and glute pain for a very long time. After my first session I have noticed an incredible difference. The pre consultation prior to your massage is very helpful, they go over all the different effected muscle groups and the plan of action tailored specifically to your needs. This is the only place in San Diego I will be going to! The facilities are kept very clean and easy to get to. There is a lot of parking around the perimeter of the building. read more

If you are like me and you have struggled with lifelong disappointment from physical therapists who aren't "hands-on" enough and massage therapists who are just trying to give you a relaxing hour, LOOK NO FURTHER. Tucker gave me, by far, the single most productive massage of my life. I don't have the budget to be forking out $100+ for relaxation- I want to walk away a better functioning human! (Which is exactly what happened). This was the first massage I ever got that came with homework (physical therapy like exercises to improve my issues)! Tucker worked on all the tight tendons and muscles in my bicep that have been hurting and impeding my bench press progress. Sure enough, a couple days post massage I hit a new PR! I will be back ASAP to fix my tight traps and hip mobility issues! read more

I just had my first session with Tucker and am thrilled. I've been having shoulder, neck and forearm pain/headaches. His targeted approach and firm pressure was just what I needed. I already scheduled a session for my husband who is a surfer / beach volleyball player. I have no doubt he'll love Tucker too. Super peaceful vibe at the studio. I 100% recommend! read more

I can't say enough good things about this place. I primarily see Eric for overuse tightness and pain from CrossFit and running. Every time I see him, he's able to help reduce the pain, improve my flexibility, and by the next day or two I'm ready to get back into working out. I really like how in tune Eric is to the body, and he asks and listens at the start of every appointment what is bothering me and he starts at that area, making sure the problem is resolved. I love that! I've been to countless masseuses who I'll tell "my left calf and foot have been bothering me", and they spend 45 min on my back and 2 min on my calf. I love this place and would say to definitely make an appointment here if you're considering! read more

Came here to treat the wifey for a Mother's Day treat.. and decided to get one as well. Rebecca did a really great job with the back massages. Tucker worked on my son who plays HS sports and he too enjoyed his experience. Thank you! We will definitely be back. Parking on a Sunday was easy! read more

I'm so glad I found this place. I came here through sheer luck looking for a therapeutic sports massage for my persistent stiff left hip. I discovered this isn't massage. This is focused bodywork, much deeper work than a massage could do. Thavy worked on deeper muscles in my psoas, QL, hamstrings, and all around my pelvic girdle with pressure and cupping with movement. I'll be honest and say some of it was quite painful. But the results are so worth it! After the 1st session, I immediately noticed sitting in my car that both hips aligned to the back of my seat. After the 2nd session, I could get deep breaths without feeling my upper torso had to rotate. I didn't even know that my tight psoas was impacting my diaphragm. My left QL was so tight, that no massage person had ever been able to release. This one has taken a few sessions. After the last session, my left leg no longer felt stuck, and moved freely. read more

I am very active and scheduled appts with Thavy for help with chronic, sport-related injuries/issues. Thavy has excellent massage technique and is very effective in identifying and working through both the primary and secondary causes of sport-related stiffness or pain. I noticed improvement immediately. After several sessions with Thavy, many running-related issues I have had for years are gone or continuously improve after every session. Now I feel I can run more relaxed and lift without worrying about muscle cramps or muscle pulls. Thavy has truly helped me stay consistent with training and enjoy exercise more. Highly recommend. read more

I just have to say that this place is amazeballs. My chiropractor recommended this place, and boy am I glad he did. I had been looking for a deep tissue massage therapist for a while, and voila. I had never heard of bodywork before my first time there. I was very inquisitive yet skeptical and a bit aprehensive at first. After the masseuse Eric answered all of my questions, he asked me what my trouble spots were. I explained where I was hurting and was a chronic condition (20+ years.) He went to work. After just two sessions, I noticed a huge difference and my world of pain subsided greatly. This type of work is a little more expensive, but well worth every penny!!! As we get older, ojr bodies don't function as well. Honest Bodywork will help you get back a little bit of fervor. I don't know if my body would work as well if I did not get this done. I try and go every 2-3 weeks. I am very thankful to have found this place. I hope that you have similar success. read more

Dru is OUTSTANDING. I could write a novel on his knowledge, innate talent, and dedication to his craft. I am hyper critical of massage and bodywork and I cannot recommend Dru enough, especially if you are an athlete and experience any sort of injury, tightness, or soreness. I've been a client for over a year and am so grateful that my friend recommended him. In a sense he has kind of ruined it for me because I don't think I will ever find someone as thorough and effective as he is. I'd also suggest a minimum of 90 minutes. The space is immaculate with easy parking. Your body will thank you for booking sessions with him. read more

I had a fantastic massage from Samantha. I have been experiencing chronic pain in my shoulder for the past month and after one visit I already felt some relief. I've booked 4 more visits and think after this month I should finally be feeling a lot better. She really focused on my problem areas. I have difficulty finding a massage therapist who can do strong pressure because I am so tight so finding Samantha was a blessing! She is also very kind and I felt very welcomed and comfortable. read more

Not all body massage therapists are the same. I work strenuously throughout the week and need good deep tissue work done and Rebecca did a fantastic job! Well worth the money and will be a repeat customer, thank you. read more

I can't even tell you how amazing this was. I have been in constant pain in my hip for five year. I've gone to chiropractors and it does nothing. After having an hour long massage with Bryant the pain was gone. For the first time in 5 years I walked without pain. Amazing! I know it will start to creep back at some point and I should go for another massage to maintain, but oh my goodness! It's been a few days now and I still don't have that constant dull pain. I would definitely recommend. read more

I bought a groupon package for 3 massages from Leison. Now, this is not your typical relaxation massage. As a matter of fact, much of the massage will be painful if you have extreme tension or tightness. It was unexpected the first session! I had a great deal of tightness and tension. Leison does active release as well as some few tissue with lots of pressure and I'm not going to lie, PAIN. But let me tell you, afterwards I feel like my posture is better. The best thing to do is to breathe through the pain, because in the end, the tension that is released will make your body feel better and more balanced. I always have felt good after the massages and tension release. Leison focused on my back (Lats) as well as my hip flexors. By doing this, he was able to release a lot of tightness in there areas. Whenever I ask questions about the muscles and how it's all connected (he's so intuitive I must ask because I'm not as familiar) he is very knowledgeable and explains it all well to a layperson. I'd highly recommend Leison! Just keep in mind this is not a relaxation massage, and you will be pleased with how your body feels afterwards!! read more

I have done many sessions with Kat and had excellent response to treatment, I came with back spasms and some pain points and after about 4-5 sessions those issues were completely resolved. She is a highly skilled therapist and you won't be dissapointed. read more

The BEST. I've gotten 100s of massages and this one was by far the best. Thavy is AMAZING. From start to finish, she did everything right and I feel soooo much better than before. Highly highly recommmend! read more

I've been to countless chiropractors and massage therapists over the years, and I can say that Dru is by far and away the best. Where other professionals I've been to previously tend to go through the same routine every time, Dru targets specific areas based on your needs. Usually along the way he'll uncover a problem spot or two that I was completely unaware I had. After each session I always have an immediate decrease in pain and better range of motion. This definitely translates into better performance in the gym. For the time and effort he puts in the prices are very reasonable too! read more

This review is for Eric, who I saw on 1/24/2020: Wow! What can I say about him? He is super personable, answered all my questions, I never felt rushed or dismissed, he worked on me for 90 minutes and I mean he WORKED. I rarely have to ask for less pressure but he obliged and he gave me some tidbits to contemplate and work on for our next session. He's knowledgeable and strong and experienced. As for Honest Bodywork in general, Dru has been responsive to all my inquiries, I love that they work with you to get FSA/HSA reimbursement, the space is clean and I love that you can schedule online so that you don't have to call or text back and forth about availability. Just don't take up all of Eric's time so that I can't get in with him! read more

Amazing first experience with Kat today!! Things I especially appreciated - she listened to me, and checked in on pressure throughout the massage. From my areas where I self-identified pressure, she did further investigation and found related areas. Literally muscles that were so tight that I did not even know existed. This woman knows her stuff -- if you're interested, she'll talk you through what she is doing and finding. I'll definitely be back to see her. She lives up to the promise of the business that they will focus on solutions to trouble spots to get/keep you in tip top shape. Thanks Kat! read more

Eric is phenomenal, period! I carry my stress in my neck and shoulders and have since my teen years (many, many, many years ago). Consequently, that area has forever behaved like a block of solid granite. Over the years I have been treated by a TON of body workers - from spa masseurs, to sports therapists, from chiropractors, to 'floating' therapists, to muscular electro-stimulation specialists, to multiple women walking on my back all at once (seriously). Eric has accomplished for me that which no other body worker has been able - he successfully worked the granite out of my neck and shoulders (as if 'pulling' the stress out of those areas). I am exceedingly grateful for having had the great fortune of finding and being treated by Eric and fully intend to see him on an ongoing basis! read more
