Problem was, I needed the new 200 lb water heater moved down into our old basement and the two previous ones removed. (I have a bad back.) I contacted four moving companies and only two replied, one saying they were too busy. Bruce at Expert Clutter replied in just a few hours on a Friday and offered to do it at a reasonable price the following week. I bought the water heater the very next day. Bruce's crew arrived on time. They did an excellent job getting the two old ones out of the basement, including a 25" wide 80 gallon tank up the 26" wide stairway. As anyone who has run this type of business knows, finding reliable help can be a challenge - especially during a pandemic. Yeah, the guys were a bit rough and tumble, but that's what you need to haul heavy stuff up/down narrow, old basements. The crew foreman supervised the crew to make sure they were careful. I don't know about you, but I'd have a tough time finding a couple of good old boys to lug three water heaters in/out my basement. I am grateful that Bruce is around, dealing with the headaches of managing a moving crew all while doing his best to be attentive to customer's needs.

We had a couch to be removed for two garbage cycles, but despite 5 calls and assurances it would be picked up by their service, the couch is still there. Instead, they picked up the cushions so that the couch couldn't even be taken by someone else, and it can't be donated. By the fifth call, after two weeks, they said it would need to be be picked up on the special route and they would call back. I said it should already have been on the special route pickup since we called so many times. I asked when it could be picked up and they could not even tell me. Still haven't heard back from call #4, so not optimistic about #5. Told them if we don't hear back we would start looking into switching services. We also know they are not picking up things in my parent's neighborhood. No one wants the husk of a couch, or other trash in front of their house for 3 trash cycles.

As of late October, they have managed to collect our garbage on the regularly scheduled day only **once**. This is not an isolated missed pickup. It has been an ongoing problem since we became customers. To their credit, Casella has issued numerous billing credits and dispatched trucks on several occasions to collect garbage outside the normal schedule. We have also escalated the issue through their organization. Unfortunately, none of these measures has resolved the underlying problem. The issue isn't whether Casella is willing to apologize, issue a credit, or send a truck after we complain. The issue is that **we are paying for a scheduled service that they have consistently failed to provide as scheduled.** Customers should not have to repeatedly contact their garbage collection company just to receive the basic service they purchased. After nearly three months, I have little confidence in Casella's ability to provide reliable scheduled collection. I would strongly encourage anyone considering Casella to investigate their service reliability in their particular area before signing up.
