The moving company and their crew damaged the staircase in my apartment while moving my couch resulting in damages that far exceeded the cost of the move. The company offered to do the repairs themselves or pay for the damages. They attempted to repair the damage rather than pay for it per their preference, but were unsuccessful. They have not answered further correspondence and the damages were taken from my security deposit. Extremely unprofessional and do not recommend. I will happily addend this review when the situation is rectified. read more

Robert Van Curen of Making Moving Easy did not show up for an appointment to assist with a move-in. We had a signed agreement for many weeks prior to the scheduled move day, so it was extremely disappointing that this company didn't come through, despite all of the good reviews online. In the days and hours just before we arrived in Ithaca, Robert was not responding to my calls, texts or emails... I should have seen the writing on the wall. Do not recommend, a extremely sentimental piece of jewelry went missing during the move, tried contacting numerous times, never answers their phone, constant phone tag, told the boss we were going to file a police report never heard back from them and we did, I know it was the movers, especially since they ditched the box it was in, into the garbage bag that was below the jewlery box, but it bounced out and I found the empty ring box in the back corner of my closet, only explanation is we would notice a ring box in there pocket, but not a ring. It had to be the movers, it was there before the move. I do not at all recommend this company. read more

They packed the UHaul professional and in order. They were prompt, efficient, courteous, polite, extremely organized and stayed on time. We would recommend them to everyone. Due to an unforeseen (and unforeseeable) circumstance, the owner ended up needing to bring in two extra guys to help unload. We scheduled quickly and easily. The walk thru was done and we soon knew we were in good hands. We had four guys and they worked really hard and cleaned 30 years out of our house in no time. No scratches or issues of any kind they work like a well-oiled machine. I do not think you could hire BETTER. Next move we know where to go. read more

In January I moved my furniture from Texas to NY via a POD. I needed help unloading the POD when I arrived in NY and hired Making Moving Easy based on their great reviews and reasonable rates. The movers were professional, arrived on time, and very knowledgeable. They were able to unload everything with time to spare. I asked if they could put a massage chair together and they were happy to do so. That saved my husband and I lots of time and frustration. In May I needed someone to load a U-Haul truck with furniture that was being moved from Rochester to Utica. I did not hesitate to call this company again. I was lucky enough that the same 2 guys that helped in January were able to help in May. They found room in the truck for everything and made sure that nothing would come loose on the 150 mile trip. These movers HELPED me move on October 8th, 2022. I want to emphasize HELP because i had to move EVERY piece of furniture to the front door in order to keep us within a REASONABLE time. I PERSONALLY BROUGHT DOWN 6-8 PIECES OF FURNITURE THAT I PAID FOR THEM TO BRING DOWN. Besides taking their time to move anything, with 1 piece of a sectional taking almost 20 minutes to get into a truck (no matter what angle, that is unacceptable. It took me, a desk jockey, less than 7 to get it upstairs.) They damaged over $1600 worth of furniture. They loaded the UHAUL poorly, causing furniture to fall on top of other pieces scratching, denting and ruining multiple articles. Then, they took the "liberty" to install my dresser drawers, and broke the slide bearings on the drawer. That drawer is no longer able to be used. I reached out THAT NIGHT and did not recieve an answer for almost 2 full business days, only AFTER i reached out to UHAUL to get some help. The company finally "acknowledged" the bad taste in my mouth but has since gone radio silent AGAIN. This is ABSOLUTELY ridiculous. They damaged 4 pieces of my furniture and charged me for an ADDITONAL hour while their employees dragged their asses. I don't get how you can take SO MUCH TIME to load furniture and STILL DAMAGE SO MUCH OF IT. We have contacted them with NUMEROUS emails through out the week, with only 1 single response back (THE ONE AFTER WE TOLD ON THEM TO UHAUL). So much for someone "reaching out soon to resolve the bad taste left in our mouth". Over-glorified $360 scam is what it is feeling like at this point. My parents could have moved us better. read more
