After weeks of trying to get plumbers to come and replace our water heater (they are busy & water heater inventories are tight due to the pandemic), I decided to DIY. Problem was, I needed the new 200 lb water heater moved down into our old basement and the two previous ones removed. (I have a bad back.) I contacted four moving companies and only two replied, one saying they were too busy. Bruce at Expert Clutter replied in just a few hours on a Friday and offered to do it at a reasonable price the following week. I bought the water heater the very next day. Bruce's crew arrived on time. They did an excellent job getting the two old ones out of the basement, including a 25" wide 80 gallon tank up the 26" wide stairway. As anyone who has run this type of business knows, finding reliable help can be a challenge - especially during a pandemic. Yeah, the guys were a bit rough and tumble, but that's what you need to haul heavy stuff up/down narrow, old basements. The crew foreman supervised the crew to make sure they were careful. I don't know about you, but I'd have a tough time finding a couple of good old boys to lug three water heaters in/out my basement. I am grateful that Bruce is around, dealing with the headaches of managing a moving crew all while doing his best to be attentive to customer's needs. read more

Got the job done as promised but realized after they left that we had some pretty bad damage done by their trucks. Would have been understandable if it was just the lawn, but they destroyed a garden when they backed five feet into it, would have forgiven them if they'd had the guts to let us know when it happened. Wrecked another garden on the side of the house when the crew got into a scuffle right in our yard and one of them was knocked down into it, destroying a fence and a shrub. Won't be using them again and would not recommend. read more
