Generally reliable for scheduled weekly pickups. Just don't expect much if you have to call because they missed picking up your garbage or if you need something larger removed. We had a couch to be removed for two garbage cycles, but despite 5 calls and assurances it would be picked up by their service, the couch is still there. Instead, they picked up the cushions so that the couch couldn't even be taken by someone else, and it can't be donated. By the fifth call, after two weeks, they said it would need to be be picked up on the special route and they would call back. I said it should already have been on the special route pickup since we called so many times. I asked when it could be picked up and they could not even tell me. Still haven't heard back from call #4, so not optimistic about #5. Told them if we don't hear back we would start looking into switching services. We also know they are not picking up things in my parent's neighborhood. No one wants the husk of a couch, or other trash in front of their house for 3 trash cycles. read more

CASELLA TRASH REMOVAL COMPANY FOR WILMINGTON, DELAWARE SUX, RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL!!! CASELLA GETS 10 THUMBS DOWN!! Today, 2.7.26 I have waited patiently and quietly for 4 weeks for the call that was promised since 1.8.26 from the manager. He said he would call me by 1.12.26, which never happened. Many previous issues happened from the Casella trash crew, that has been coming onto my street for the past year since the takeover from GFL INDUSTRIES. The trash crew blocked my driveway with their truck after the kids and I waved hello to them. They watched me and my 7 yr old twins get into my car to go to school and work. They saw me getting ready to come out of my driveway and they sped up and pulled right in front of my driveway deliberately and would NOT move their truck for me to get out. I waited and couldn't wait any longer, so I had to drive over my neighbors lawn to get my boys to school on time. The same crew came down my street again on 1.8.26 and saw me, therefore blocking the road all the way down the street, as I was heading to work. I asked them to please move to the side, as they were blocking traffic again with plenty of room on the street to pullover. They still would not get out of the way. They kept parking between parked cars on each side of the street so I could not get through. I told the manager that I would go to the senator's office on this harassment from our trashmen. I paid GFL INDUSTRIES for 14 years and I never had 1 concern with them. Now Cassella took over the past year and I have been harassed, my driveway blocked, your trashmen broke my trash can, and Casella didn't take my trash for 2 weeks after my complaint. I had to call and complain about what they were doing many times and nothing got resolved. I was forced to quit Casella trash removal because of the harassment. I finally had peace and then it all started again. The same trash men wouldn't get out of my way and many other people's way when there was plenty of room to pullover. They are so rude and have no respect! We all have jobs to go to and I have boys that go to school, and these trash men didn't care. Again I asked them to move out of my way, but got ignored. They could have pulled on the side and out of the way, especially knowing most of the street had parking available but what they did instead was pulled between 2 cars on each side of the road so I couldn't pass. I still have pictures to show of the trash truck in my way and how it shows plenty of parking on the street. But again I was ignored. I see how Casella Trash Removal works now... I will move forward with contacting the Better Business Bureau, senators, all social media etc. This way I can find out how many people have been involved with the same issues from the casella crew. That could even start a class action lawsuit. All because I was promised a call back from the manager on 1.8.26 in hopes that he would rectify this situation, but again, I was IGNORED. All the promises from your company that were made and never got heard or resolved. I guess if they see their manager not caring about any situation at all, then why should the employers act any differently. What a sad world we live in, that our own trashmen treat people like we are garbage too. We don't forget who stomped on us especially when we were paying your trash disposal company until i moved on word . We are all human beings and trying to feed our families too. Not one person is better than the other! Have some respect for others who are trying hard to get children to school and go to work! What is happening in the world today is that people feel they are better than everybody else? Why does Casella think that they have the right to block us from essential needs and getting to work or school? If I didn't get on my call at my job by a certain time, then that could have caused a person to be terminated. Is this what your employees want? Do your employees not realize that most customers have cameras in the windows? They just don't care. I also asked the MANAGER to never have these men on my street again as I don't feel safe! That went ignored too. We should be helping one another, NOT hurting one another! And your employees want to pick on a woman and her little children to boot. That is extremely SCARY AND CONCERNING... I am now taking action. Why is it that other trash companies have common courtesy and move out of the way but cassella blocks everyone deliberately? If the manager is not rectifying this situation, I did inform the manager of my next steps. And again he didn't care. Thank you Casella Manager (that over looks Wilmington area), for not helping me at all in this situation, or getting back to me as promised. They keep buying our good local providers and bring their horrible, horrible service with them! It's sometimes a guess as to when they will pick up and what they will pick up. Last time they bought a company, they told us to leave our recycling toter on the curb for them to pickup. 4 weeks straight, and they still hadn't picked it up. I got a quote for a dumpster. They delivered and picked up the dumpster. I was underweight. They decided that they hadn't quoted me enough so they told me I owed them more money. Not sure how you can change a quote after you have already picked up the dumpster. I talked to the customer service manager and asked for a new bill showing how I could owe more after the fact and after the quote. She tried to tell me the government added some kind of tax after I had already paid for the dumpster. She then told me she would fix the problem and I wouldn't get billed. I called and spoke to someone only to be told that they would come get it (they never did) or to just leave the trash outside and they would pick it up the next week when they were scheduled to come out. We "inherited" Casella after they bought out Seyrek over the summer of 2025. Immediately our service went from reliable to MIA. Days would go by without a pick up or call to say why. Then they abruptly switched to every other week pick up for recycles but without alerting us as to which week they would start. We finally cancelled our 4 contracts (3 rentals) with them and were told they would pick up the totes within 1o days. It's going on 4 weeks now and they are still at the curb. I've called daily the past week, each day being told they would have them picked up by end of day and yet each morning our neighborhood wakes to the site of these 3 bins STILL laying along the curb. The WORST waste management service we have ever experienced. Not worth your money as they can't even figure out their route. This is the 4th time that they have failed to pick up our trash can. Anyone with eyes can clearly see that it's waiting on the curb for them to pick up but somehow they still forget. Every time I call and email, they state that we will have to wait a week before someone can pick up our trash, even though it was their mistake for forgetting to pick it up. The 2nd time they forgot to pick up our trash, it ended up growing maggots since we had to keep the trash for another week during the sweltering summer heat. It was so disgusting as I had to get rid of the maggots and clean out the entire bin. On top of that, they are not apologetic at all and just say that it's "human error" and are very dismissive. They have not done anything to remediate this recurring issue even though they claim to be amazing. If you are looking for an efficient waste management system, I implore you to SEARCH ELSEWHERE. Have had a 2 yard dumpster with biweekly pickup for 2-1/2 years. The first time they came to empty dumpster they got stuck, had a second truck parked in the road with a chain attached to dump truck across my driveway, told me (rudely) could not go down my driveway & it'd be hours before they got a tow & I could get to my house. Since Thanksgiving trash has been picked up twice (should've been picked up seven times per contracted service & payments). When calls are made regarding when trash will be picked up we've been given multiple excuses (road is bad, driveway not clear, snow on dumpster) & have been promised pickup multiple times, last being yesterday. Trash was not picked up. We've been told to take our trash to their trash site & PAY to drop it off - if I wanted to do that I wouldn't have rented a dumpster. They miss their garbage pickup days they don't communicate well regarding switching days if theres a Holliday. We never know if the garbage will be picked up or forgotten. When you call them about forgotten trash they do not send anyone to pick it up or promise something that is not followed through. I received a phone call yesterday to say they were switching me from weekly recycling service to biweekly, but of course, there was no discussion of a lower rate and I have a contract that is good for 3 more months. My time is too valuable to pursue breach of contract, so I am going to politely cancel my service and find another provider. read more

How did I start my morning? Didn't put my garbage out last night because of the wind. Was rolling it down the driveway when they had passed me and were 2 doors down. Casella service at the curb has been good. They pick up reliably on scheduled days. Thank you very much. But Casella's billing is impossible to understand, or at least I don't understand it. There are too many disparate numbers that do not add up to or subtract down to anything that makes sense. My attempts at communicating with Casella's billing department -- crickets. No communicating with these folks. Casella Waste has evidently been recently "acquired," as the bizniz term goes, by some mega corporation located in many places. Casella HQ is now somewhere overseas in the UK ? The overarching corporate entity is located in Minnesota. I've called many numbers in Vermont but no one at any of the many numbers has picked up the phone, including the local office. I don not recommend Cassella!! My neighbor stopped paying their bill so they came to pick up their garbage cans but picked up mine on accident. I spent all day on the phone trying to get a set of cans delivered back to my house. They told me to walk over to my neighbors and steal theirs! Horrible customer service! They finally dropped off new cans to me and the next day never even picked up my garbage for the week!! Signed up for casella services to start July 7. They never delivered totes but said I could just leave bagged garbage at curb ti totes arrive. 3 weeks later, still no totes and no garbage pick up. I called to see what was going on 2 times. Finally after 1 month of no totes and no garbage pick up, I called for a refund. Was told I would get a refund in 5-7 business days. 2 weeks later, still no refund but totes arrived!?!? After I canceled, they said bins had to be in "driver's sight" for pickup--despite my house being hundreds of feet off the road. Now their bins are sitting by the road for weeks, creating an eyesore. Our business has had garbage pickup service with this company for one year now. Our pickup day is Friday. This past Friday we noticed that after the garbage truck came to collect the garbage, they left about half of it in the dumpster (not the first time this has happened.) I called to report this and spoke to a very rude woman. She was basically telling me that it's my fault and I should be climbing into the dumpster to make sure nothing is frozen. Well I'm sorry, but I am not climbing into a dumpster to poke things with a stick. I pay for a service and I expect to get the service that I am paying for. I understand that we live in a cold climate, and that things like this happen, however I do not appreciate the rude remarks and attitude. The best way to handle this would have been for her to apologize and have someone come back out. This did not happen. I called back Monday morning when I saw that the garbage was still not emptied. The gentleman that I spoke with was much nicer and told me that I would hear back from him within the hour about someone coming back out. This did not happen. I called back again this morning (Tuesday) and I'm not sure if I was hung up on or if we were disconnected, but I did not get a call back, so I called back for a 4th time to report the same issue. I was again told that they would pass a message along and call me back to let me know if/when they could have someone come back out. It has been hours since then. In the meantime, it is only Tuesday and our dumpster is full. We have a pile of garbage inside our shop that we can't dispose of because of this issue. At this point I have had enough. I have been trying to have a couch and loveseat picked up since last November. I was told to place the items out on my garbage pickup date and it would be picked up in the following 1-3 business days. After it sat there for 2 weeks I called again and received the same response. I left if for another 2 weeks and then brought in back in because of the snow. I tried again several weeks ago and this time I was told it would be picked up on my garbage day. Casella bought a small hauler i was happy with, then this company took over. Started with the company leaving some garbage behind at my six rentals in Geneseo. Then they started sending me bills for excess pickups and told me since they were going to use an automated pick up truck I need new cans. I spent over $800 on cans, after which I was told they would provide their cans, OMG. The last straw for we came when the "truck claw" ripped out a 20 foot tall tree in front of one of my properties. The driver just dropped the tree on the sidewalk and drove away. Needless to say I am no longer a customer. read more

After being a customer for nearly 10 years we have canceled our service due to a very poor customer service experience. After skipping our pick up due to a clerical error they refused to come back until the next service week. Additionally, we were required to call back 5 separate times to confirm our service has in fact been canceled. Even after speaking with a supervisor I still received a voicemail asking us if we're sure we want to cancel and requesting we call back to confirm. I have now wasted too much time of the phone to simply cancel the service. Additionally, the cost of the services has increased significantly over the 9 years we've been with them. It's amazing, Casella took over our last waste system company in the last year or two but to tell you the truth it's changed many times in the last few years one company keeps buying another. This has been the very worst. I would say at least five times now in the last 12 months casella has forgotten altogether picking up my garbage. Yesterday they were supposed to pick it up but then they called to apologize and saying they would do it tomorrow. Around 3 o'clock this afternoon I noticed my garbage was still here but yet my neighbors garbage was gone. I called Casella and explain that. I was told that I'm still on the list and they haven't come yet. Although it didn't make sense I Accepted it. Then at 4:30 I called them again, again they told me it's still on the list.
