It's amazing, Casella took over our last waste system company in the last year or two but to tell you the truth it's changed many times in the last few years one company keeps buying another. This has been the very worst. I would say at least five times now in the last 12 months casella has forgotten altogether picking up my garbage. Yesterday they were supposed to pick it up but then they called to apologize and saying they would do it tomorrow. Around 3 o'clock this afternoon I noticed my garbage was still here but yet my neighbors garbage was gone. I called Casella and explain that. I was told that I'm still on the list and they haven't come yet. Although it didn't make sense I Accepted it. Then at 4:30 I called them again, again they told me it's still on the list. We started 5 years ago being picked up at 7 am to Now Whenever! Their customer service people have no clue when you call to complain tell you whatever script they have for that day! They leave trash and people's garbage bins in the middle of the road, they will miss garbage pickup at your house, they will not honor customer complaints, they pick up NOTHING extra including the trash they drop when they decide to show up and empty your garbage, and they charge more than others. Easily the worst company I have ever dealt with. I signed up for weekly pick up. They never delivered my totes. I called and said it would be delivered that day. Nope. At least 5 times I talked with someone who said they would call me back. They never did. After a week into my scheduled start day with no tote I told them to cancel and refund my money. Every since Cassella took over LT Disposal we have had nothing but issues. They all stem from their terrible management and pushing pollicies that dont work because they cant cover the work. For the past year we have had nothing but problems. They cant stick to a schedule, pic up the trash or recycling on time. Then they blame us for it. Recently and the last straw: We were paperless and sent out the 1/4 payments for 20 years, and no issue. They changed the address that the payment was supposed to go, didn't tell us then stopped service because of it. Now keep in mind every week they forgot to pick up trash or missed half of the trash... Then when I got tired of it and wanted answers for my questions: they bold faced lied to me. Said I was the issue cause their drivers were unable to spot the huge garbage cans, but they got my neighbors. read more

Absolute worst company ever. Continuously forgets to pick up the garbage. We call to say it wasn't picked up, they LIE and say they're still coming. We call again, they lie AGAIN. Don't want to refund your money for the pick up they didn't do. Terrible service. Customer phone service is polite and professional, no complaints there. The first issue was they told me the wrong pickup date, so trash and recycle piled up for 2 weeks. Because my garbage and recycle were outside on the wrong days. It took 5 phone calls to figure this out, again customer service was polite. Next they did not pick up the bulky item when a special request was made. Then the truck broke and it could not be picked up on a special run. Currently the bulky item was missed again on a normal pick up date along with the standard trash tote. I have used Casella before, at my old house and those guys were great. The service at my new address has just been one hassle after another. I HAVE HAD TO CONTACT THEM OVER A DOZEN TIMES IN A MONTH TO FIGURE OUT WHAT IS GOING ON WITH MY WASTE REMOVAL. The lazy garbage collectors left behind a garden plant and when I called in to ask why I was told I needed to shake the dirt off the plant and then they would take it. They also said they don't take yard debris. Really? What about all of the leaves and plants you picked up from my house last week? Is that not yard debris? Very poor customer service. Casella is the WORST Refuse Company constantly missing weekly pickups especially regarding recycling, only leaving a voicemail with No Apologies .. We sent a letter with our Bi-Monthly Payment bill stating we were cancelling for November and December 2022 service. They called back to ask if we would reconsider and I gave them an "earful" told them we'd give them one more chance. Oh and I did ask what the credit was for two "missed recycling" pick-ups and it came to maybe $8. Bottom line the 1st new Friday Pickup Date, 10/28, They Once Again DIDN'T PICK UP ... That's it with Casella who bought all the small well run companies and only provide LOUSY SERVICE, if I could they'd get a -10 Rating ... Will be CANCELLING and will find a new Refuse Company for 2023 !!! read more

We are on day 3 of our trash and recycling sitting in front of our house. I have been told 3 times that "it will be picked up today". I have been told that the Wednesday pick up was moved to Thursday...hmmm, my neighbors all had theirs picked up on Wednesday. I was told that it would be worked out and I would get a phone call back to confirm. You guessed it, no phone call. What are the chances that it will be picked up over the weekend? What are the chances that I will ever recommend Casella Waste Services to anyone? This is the 2nd time this month our pick up was delayed. Not only is the service a bit unreliable, their billing system is confusing. If you are looking for trash and recycling pick up services, do yourself a favor and look someplace else. read more

If you buy a full year of service, and pay for it upfront, do not expect that you have actually paid for a year of service. They will up their rate and send you a bill for the difference, even if your account shows paid in full for the year. They just upped their rate when the cost of gas fell through the floor. The service is great. They pick up the trash and send a full tote for recycling which is great. Just be ready to have the $$ transaction to never really be complete. read more

Do not hire them for weekly trash removal!! I transferred my service from one address to another, I told them to change the service address but not the billing address.It took them 4 weeks to get truck to drive down my street to pick up the trash. Then took them 3 weeks to pickup the recyclables. NEVER OFFERED A CREDIT for services NOT performed. When the bill came they had changed the billing address. Shortly after we sold the house. I called to cancel the service and get a final billing. Charged me for April but could not tell me what I owed for May. Asked why we were canceling told them house was sold and we were moving out of service area. I would get a call in a week about the May bill. Well I got that call yesterday. Again asked why we were canceling. Told them the fact that I answered that question last week shows how efficient they are. So again told him. Then told him if I was staying in the area I would NEVER hire them due to all the problems and poor service with no offer of a credit but they have no problem raising the price of service. He said he saw the problems with the service. I said well since there was no offer of a credit I hope he enjoyed the negative YELP review they would be getting. He then hung up!! What an awful organization. They have a very perverse DISINCENTIVE for recycling -- they only pic it up every other week. So if you miss a week while you are away, you have a month's worth of recycling. When I called about it, they seemed very disinterested. Seems like time to find a new service. read more

This is the review you won't see on their Facebook page. I promise you that. Utterly and fully incompetent. We live in an isolated town inside the Adirondack State Park in NY and hoped Casella would offer decent trash pickup service. Oh how that failed. In 4 months of service, they managed to pick it up twice. Given that they only have to stop here twice a month, this is impressive. Now, they want $77 out of us and can't understand why we've told them to come get their cans and won't be paying this bill. This bill won't be paid. begging for service isn't our kink. So if you're in Northern NY, anywhere near their Potsdam branch, please, use anyone else. I can promise you, they have no desire to convince their drivers to pick up trash. And having talked to drivers who are bitter that this national company bought up a local company and drove it into the ground, I can promise you, the local employees do not care about picking up your trash. read more

i just moved into my own home recently, and in my mailbox i got casella offering their services to me, so of course i called out to them and set up an account with them, i got my bins like a week later then a few days later the guys picked up the garbage, everything seemed good in all, until i got a no show the the following time they were scheduled to arrive. im going to call in the morning about it, but im pretty much set on canceling with them and finding someone else. Casella came today and knocked over my recycling. I saw the driver get out and start righting the toter. Seeing the mess I put my coat on and started outside to help the man. I raised my garage door just in time to see the truck pull off and start down the road, leaving a giant mess in the driveway with cans and recycling material blowing all over. This man's disregard for the environment was appalling. I live in a rural area where I am surrounded by farm fields. Apparently, this man does not think that littering is wrong. I called to complain but was told that the road supervisors were not at work yet at 9:30 in the am. What a joke! I don't expect a call back. Casella should be embarrassed. This is the second time they have taken money from my account they weren't supposed to causing a fee at my bank and instead of returning the "overpayment" ie error on their part they simply credit my account. I paid $25 dollars on my bill..the total was was $75...Casella took the money...they didn't pick up the garbage... today..they came and got the cans...no note,no call,no messages.... Casella has so helpful nearly every time I have needed extra assistance. For instance, understanding my bill. It was a little confusing to me, upon calling I was given informative info where I got a greater understanding. Next, I would get confused which 2 Wednesdays I was suppose to have my trash. Upon calling I was sent out a schedule so that I could have full advantage of their service. Schedules change year to year. In addition, my trash did not get picked up on the scheduled day. After calling was advised on holidays pick up is the day following. I am now on a limited income and called and I was given a better rate because I am a senior. The representative and I worked together to get the lowest rate I was eligible for. The only problem I have incurred is my bill going up without notification. Therefore I would not recommend auto withdraw. I understand a business needs to make a profit, however I think could have been handled differently. So in conclusion, I would recommend Casella overall. You can see anytime I have had a problem I call in. read more
