The company is professional and follows the rules set forth by the city of SF to ensure that our bathroom was up to code. The quality of their work is really good and they built it out exactly as we had wanted it per the specs of our design partner. What I especially liked about them was that they had a detailed project plan and was transparent as to the cost of each step. They also were very timely in their construction, which as you know, with it being your primary bathroom, is extremely important. There were a couple of issues with communication that we had during the project as well as a couple of billing items, but once we talked to the owner about this over a call we were able to clear things up to everyone's satisfaction. I can tell you that it is definitely not as easy to resolve these types of issues with many other contractors. Our bathroom has been in use for over 18 months now and there are no issues with any of their work and I'm sure that if there were, they would honor their workmanship guarantee. They are highly recommended.

A rite of passage for new homeowners is to deal with a major repair. Less than a year after moving in, heavy rains led to water from outside making its way inside without invitation. Noticing some damaged wood that was likely to blame, we called on Nelson to help. Of the various contractors we solicited for quotes, Nelson was the most through and punctual. And throughout, Nelson and team were reliable, communicative and provided expert work for a job which started as a "minor" siding repair but expanded (to our dismay) in scope as increasing amounts of rotting, structural wood from the previous owner was uncovered. Although it was disconcerting to see how much damage we would need to address, Nelson was sympathetic and assured us that it would be straightforward to fix and advised on a couple of different approaches, which we agreed to. His team arrived on time every day and worked around weather conditions to perform carpentry, waterproofing, and offered continuous updates. We also hired Nelson's team to paint afterwards, and are very happy with the results. By the end we started dreaming about other projects or repairs we could accomplish and started getting his feedback on those as well! One thing we learned is that it's necessary to make sure the discussions are thoroughly documented-we had a couple of misunderstandings about what was included or not after verbal discussions, which we either resolved through the contract, or realized after the fact that it was something discussed but never written down so we let it go. But making the agreement itself was a breeze, and Nelson is good humored, flexible and was easy to work with at all of the stages of the process. We would certainly work with him on future repairs.

Despite a busy schedule they always find time to help me out sooner rather than later. Scott Clough then comes out both to survey the job to give a bid and then on the day the crew arrives to make sure everyone is on the same page. In the past they have built an amazing fence along the street that still gets the attention of people walking by and rebuilt part of a failing deck along a steep hill. This most recent crew of Quinn and Salvadore were efficient and professional. They replaced a bunch of dry rot under a deck and just looking at the result warms my heart (homeowners with dry rot will understand). The guys were friendly, hard working, and completed the job in record time. The clean up was also excellent which in my experience not a lot of construction companies do well. Hire Clough Construction if you want the job done right.

I spoke with many independent designers and cabinet specialists before finding Rich and realizing he was the person I was looking for. First, he is a wonderful person, who cares deeply about customer satisfaction. Second, he understands that every client has a different vision for their kitchen and is willing to work with them to achieve their goal. Third, he comprehends the idea of a budget and works diligently to adhere to your needs. Fourth, he's got an eye for design and this is a significant benefit of working with him. My kitchen project morphed into a bonus office, half-bath, and full-bathroom suite. Rich listened to all my needs and worked with me to incorporate all the little details. He's well-connected with the right professionals to get the job done. Rich's recommended contractor, Chris Solberg Construction, was excellent. His subs all came out to assess the project as part of the bid so I had a very realistic idea of cost before we started. Even with Rich's recommendation, I triple-bid the project and Chris's estimate was fair and developed with a lot of due diligence. Both Rich and Chris looped me in on key decisions as the build-out occurred, which meant all the important details I cared about got taken care of. He made countless suggestions that made the whole project better at the end. I was a novice at the remodeling process. If you are doing a kitchen and bath, all you need is Rich. Don't waste time with architects (sadly I did), just book an appointment with Rich and you won't regret it. I contacted several contractors that had been recommended to me. After talking with a neighbor, they also suggested Diaz Construction...so I reached out to them as well. Due to my travel schedule, I needed to have them come out quickly for an assessment. They were very accommodating to my timing and made it convenient for me to meet with them. Here's what made the difference for me.... Each contractor I met with looked around some and had their opinion on what needed to be done....and wide ranging prices. When Enrique (from Diaz) came out, he spent a lot of time with me to point out what he saw and different suggestions. He was the only one to get down on his belly and crawl underneath in to tight spaces for a closer inspection. He understood that we wanted a quality solution, with a necessity of staying within budget parameters. The bottom line was that I felt like he was going be extra careful and detailed about the work being done... and do it at a fair price. I have no doubt that any of the contractors I met with would have done good work....but a lot boils down to gut feel for the people you hire to work on your home. After whittling it down to 2 contractors, project updates and revised proposals, I hired Diaz for the job. Of course, more dry-rot damage was revealed as we started to open things up, but Enrique kept me updated, offered options/suggestions and moved forward with what I approved. We entrusted them to fix our largest asset (our home), even feeling comfortable enough to give them a key to have access when we couldn't be there. And we required quality work, within an agreed upon timeline and fair pricing. The net result was that my gut feel was right!
