I've had other contractors that started the work and never I completed and it was hell trying to find new people that could finish it up for me. When I put out the SOS I had two separate friends in business send the same number LOL they said talk to "DP at Custom Living" I gave them a shot and I am so pleased... I'm actually getting a little emotional just thinking about how close we came to closing our business because of all the previous contractors taking advantage and not completing the jobs. I wholeheartedly recommend Custom Living and I feel I would be hard pressed to find another Contractor that was as experienced, speedy, personable, and willing to go the extra yard. He even found time to come out to our studio launch!

On top of calling me a thief, he saying I'm a liar too!!!! I told you there was proof! Please see the attached photos. If my home is 70% complete as he is claiming, it must be at someone else's house because it definitely isn't my house! Stevie Wonder can see that! I asked, begged and pleaded with Daniel to send me at least $5000 back, of which he was supposed to be using $2000 towards the floors. Since that money hasnt been spent on what it was for, I should get it back right? But I'm sure it was spent on labor *inserts eyeroll* and $3000 just cuz he spent my money and I have nothing to show for it!!! I think that's fair? But he refuses to give it back so next will be legal action as I only wanted $5000 back, but lets take it to court and see how much I get from that.... the saga continues!!!

And then the day before the appointment, they asked me if we could reschedule for another day. That was actually fine because the new date worked better for me anyway, but it should have been another sign they may not have it all together. I will say they were accommodating in arriving a bit earlier that day at my request, and they were professional and friendly. I was told I should get an estimate by the end of the week. I did not even get a follow up. So I sent a message to ask when I could expect the quote and was told they wouldn't be able to get it to me by the end of the month as promised and since the person who does quotes was out for the week, he couldn't give me a date. It was around the holidays, so I understood and decided to be patient (although every other company who came by during the same time frame managed to get me estimates within a few days at most). Two weeks later still no estimate and still no follow up (three weeks since they came to my house). If they didn't have the capacity or desire to take on my project at this time, I would have appreciated being told that so I didn't waste my time waiting and not moving forward. (Well I did last week with drywall repair and painting at least, with a company that gave me an estimate the same day and got me on their schedule soon after I made the decision). I called the company once more just to make sure I didn't overlook anything, but they seemed to not really know what was going on with the estimate either .. I don't think they even had a record that someone had come out to give an estimate (although they did have all my information). So I would not recommend, unless you just like wasting time and not being communicated with.

Fought hard to get my insurance company to approve R4 for remediation work after a fire. Years ago…read morewe used them for a kitchen remodel and were happy. But it's not the same people now. The work was shoddy and even worse, despite promises, they put a lien on our house over a small amount that our insurance company had outstanding. This was due to an administrative error but after recommending them they nailed us to the wall with a lien over a very small debt that was not ours to pay. So forget any loyalty between customer and business. Their workers didn't speak English and looked like they were being paid substandard wages. The lien was the final straw with R4. Stay away.

A good friend referred Jeremy and his team at R4 restoration and he was a life saver. After close inspection we not only need water remediation but extensive work to make us whole again. Jeremy and Sean were extremely professional, knowledgeable and very attentive to our every need. Because of his expertise and familiarity with working directly with the insurance companies, we were able to get a entirely new kitchen. New flooring throughout the house ( due to discontinued flooring ), all new cabinets, countertops, backsplash and fixtures. He's busy because he does great work. If you are not serious about doing your project, I can see how Frank would not be serious about doing your project. We contracted Decks & More to replace our old deck with a deck and screened-in porch. Their quote was about 30% less than another deck company in Atlanta (company is large and has a sales team if that helps). The quote was about 1.5x what it would take to get contractors to do each part of the job individually (deck guy, roofing guy, electrician, painters, etc.). We decided that managing the project ourselves was not worth it. We were right. Frank came to the house for an initial consultation. He has a huge portfolio of options that he has done before. Frank is flexible with brands of decking, windows, etc. to meet our requests (other company had a deal with a composite decking manufacturer that they had to use). After a budgetary quote, he then requested a small deposit to begin designing the job. We liked this option because it avoids people wasting his time as mentioned in other reviews. We worked with Frank on a number of designs. We agreed on a few changes during the job too. Before starting construction, Frank puts everything in writing and follows it. We liked this as well. We made sure that all options and specifications that we wanted were in the contract, and Frank did the same. We all understood what the scope was. When we had a change during the project, Frank would scope the cost, sometimes it was no cost, and we would sign an addendum. Frank's team is unbelievably expert in putting up decks. They are fast. They really know what they are doing. Getting the painting done was a little of a delay, but Decks & More does not have full-time painters. And all painters are busy during the pandemic. We are glad that they could handle everything with the project. Electrical: installed a new circuit breaker, new exterior and interior power outlets, new porch light, new ceiling fan, recessed lighting. Paint: both interior and exterior paint and stain. Structural: installed roof, shingles, integrated roof into house roof, changed the gutter path, installed new gutters. Do yourself a favor and check out their website. Some pretty amazing projects.

What was surprising to us was that he would recommend less rather than more when more was not needed. he could have done made more money but chose to help us instead. The build was done quickly and effectively. The inspectors were impressed with the soundness of the work, we were impressed with the look and quality of the finished deck AND with the way Frank worked with us. I highly recommend Frank and his company! People who see the finished deck are amazed at the strength (it is a raised deck) of the build. One commented, "you could use it as a hurricane shelter!".
