Chicken and beef kebobs
Brian S.

Solid food. Hubs and I had the chicken and beef kebobs. Love the rice and sauces and flavors. Only minor ding was some of the lettuce was brown. Went back today and had the daily special (chicken jalfrezi I think?) and salad was fresh this time. Place is always busy.

KOFTA & CHICKEN

First up, more than half of the tables here were Afghan so that says something about the food right off the bat. The interior is somewhat cafeteria-esque, with long communal tables. It's a good setting for kids. My all time favorite dish is mantu, so I can't resist getting that at every opportunity. These come with four small dumplings to an order, with a generous portion of delicious sauce on top. The chicken kofta platter was also very good. The chicken is well seasoned and tender and the ground meat had a very good balance of spices. Both were complemented with a mild spiced rice. The appetizer with the platter was a very filling portion, and the bread was toasty but still fluffy and soft. Appetizer and platter together were $31 including tip, which isn't crazy but not really a bargain. Quite nice if you enjoy Afghan food!

Beef chicken combo with rice and salad. Extra meat on the left ($14)

Ate here a few times on a work trip. Food is very solid and I'll for sure be back if I'm in the area. My only gripe is that I asked the woman over the phone if I could add extra meat to my entree and she said yes, however when I went to pick it up she had just added a whole extra entree to my order for another $14. Lesson learned, but PSA you can't just get extra meat for 4-5 bucks. The rice was weirdly kind of sweet so I'll avoid that in the future as well since that's not really my thing. Overall, friendly service and solid food.

Mango smoothie

Dreaming of these curry chickpeas. So tender and flavorful! The tikka chicken platter was very good with a generous portion. The rice with it was perfectly cooked and aromatic. I loved the raisins in it. Salad was perfectly fresh and the green yogurt sauce was tangy and went well with the rest of the dish. Pita came out hot, was a bit hard after it cooled though. The mango smoothie was delicious and large.

Chicken kabab salad

Ordered takeout from here. Chicken kebab salad was exceptional. Chicken was moist and had a ton of flavor. Came with ranch and mint chutney. Ranch was that really good thick ranch. Greens and toppings were very fresh. Easy to park location near the airport. Food was ready when I came to pick it up, so I would say service is good. Very friendly. Nice casual place.

Mantu $6

The Mantu dumplings were pretty good. The yogurt sauce goes well with the lentils and beef balls.

Lamb and Chicken Kebab Combo

A Great Quick Lunch Ordered: (Main) Lamb and Chicken Kebab Combo - 4/5 - The meat was so tender and juicy. Everything else was good, but the best part were the sauces. The garlic sauce, spicy sauce and mint chutney were all flavorful and added a lot to the already well-seasoned meat. This place is great for a quick meal. The food came out very quickly and it was all hot and delicious.

Vegetable Platter with Falafel

Very clean sitting area with a quiet atmosphere. Food is prepared in house from scratch, haven't ordered a single menu option that's has been negative. Positive service with a smile. I always come here during a turn in Baltimore. Another hidden Jem!!!

Lamb curry - Friday special I can't even begin to articulate the flavor explosion in this dish. I Cynivised it by adding seasoned basmati rice. #FeedsMySoulStatusConferred you'll have to go an try it out for yourself. I added the sides: salad and spinach. The salad fresh mixed greens. I think that the dressing was a light vinaigrette base with a strong dill presence. Spinach was cooked to the perfect texture, leaving it still having a little bit of bite and not being mushy at all. Good seasoning as well. Be sure to order a side of fresh bread, it comes out piping hot as it is made to order. Soft texture , with starting this, allowing you to scoop the sauce. Service For it to be a more of a carry out or dine and go quickly atmosphere, the service was top notch, royalty level. Extremely personable anticipating customers needs. Mantwo is basically afghan dumpling, and the filling was incredible savory and had a meaty texture. The was my favorite appetizer, stuffed with spiced potatoes, lentils, and chives/leeks from what I saw. The dipping sauce of yogurt and mint went amazing with it. For mains, we got the Lamb Lawand and Lamb loin chop. The lamb lawand was this savory rice dish- they served it with mushrooms and a side of beautifully seasoned spinach. It came as a stew that you were able to mix with your rice as you please. As for the lamb loin chop, it was incredibly tender- falling off the bone. Dessert was difficult, as I am deathly allergic to all nuts. My partner got the hazelnut chocolate cake, and from what I heard they rated it very highly. I got the afghan ice cream; the flavor were incredibly unique, with notes of cardamom, saffron and rose water. I usually have a problem with rose water in my desserts, as it ends up tasting overly flowery or soapy, but I think it was executed well. The toppings of dates, mangos, and figs went incredibly well with the flavors of the ice cream. My only complaint was the service being a bit slow, but at the time we went it was incredibly busy, and I don't blame the workers. Otherwise, this was a great place to go to for an elevated meal! Not TOO fancy, but not too casual either.

When we walked in, we were sat in the very large dining area and our server came right over. The atmosphere definitely lends itself to a smart casual outfit vibe. Very cutesy!! We started off with the bowlani. It was a freshly gently fried samosa if I had to describe it. I enjoyed it very much. I wanted to try multiple items but for some reason wasn't very hungry so I went with the vegetarian aushuk and the mashawa soup. I also ordered the bread to dip in my soup. Everything was very tasty. The service was excellent and the overall vibe of the restaurant was pleasant. I'll be back for sure.
