Maisonetta is a Mexican-French Fusion Family owned Restaurant located in the corner of Lincoln Ave. in Downtown Bronx. It's a nicely decorated, dimly lit, cozy place with a variety of music that's not too loud, that's good for couples as well as groups. The waiters are very friendly & accommodating & the service is pretty fast. The Classic Burger was big & tasty. You can pick from several cheese options to complement your burger. I'm not a big fan of French Fries but the fries here are so good! They're perfectly cooked, not greasy & best of all they don't wilt if you take them home & eat them the next day! They're cocktails are well made & since it's a family owned business, we had a special treat at our table with one of the tenants playing his guitar. This place will make you feel relaxed & very at home.

nachos with steak. really well-layered and quite satisfying.

food was great! I had the nachos with steak as a meal. music is a fun mix of french pop and latin american stuff. service was friendly, efficient, speedy. the nachos were thoroughly layered top-to-bottom and tasted great.

The beat of The Bronx thumps a little harder each time a restaurant like this opens in my borough. Especially in areas where, back in the day, no one would've expected it. But in this age of neighborhood shift- lemme clear my throat- gentrification, Maisonetta is here to make its mark. When Maisonetta joined the Mott Haven scene in '23(?), I bookmarked it for its slight "French" take on Mexican food. While it attracted some black and brown folks like myself, it also attracts that newer clientele who've moved to the area. Faux florals give it a colorful, welcoming feel, but it's the full bar and central counter that steal the spotlight. Comfortable seating and the sunlight streams right through the windows. The menu? Small, but with enough to choose from. My mom and I kicked things off with the passion fruit agua fresca. Honestly, it had a smidge of passion fruit and wasn't filled all the way. Let's just say it tasted more like agua than anything else. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I had the ($19) Omelette Florentine with a side salad. Tasty, but my kid's ($21) wild mushroom omelette with garlicky home fries stole the show. I honestly wanted to trade plates. My mom went with the ($18) French toast, which was thinner than expected but topped nicely with fresh fruit. Food is tasty. Prices? Sky high. Service? Nice, but so slow. Our lone server juggled everything from pouring water to bartending. We left dazed and confused.

Cute neighborhood spot serving tacos, burritos, nachos and flautas. Along with a mean passion fruit margarita. David, the server and bartender was not only attentive but extremely friendly. Great spot for happy hour with good food and great drinks.

This place is super cute. Love the layout and decor. Great food options. We had Mac and cheese and it was so cheesy and full of flavor. Such a cute neighborhood.

Cozy and cool corner spot, great ambiance, waiter was courteous and the food was on point. We sat at the bar. Music was great too.

The food is great quality! However the restaurant is supposedly a French + Mexican fusion restaurant & didn't really see a French influence on the menu ... more on the Mexican side if you ask me ( Nothing wrong with that. I love Mexican Food). Very limited bar as well, I wanted a Gin & Tonic which is pretty standard and they had no Gin options at the time! Great quality restaurant, just limited options ...

A very quaint restaurant in a bustling part of the Mott Haven neighborhood! A great place to stop for Mexican versions of some classic dishes- like the Mexican chorizo burger that I tried! While not the most amazingggg restaurant I've ever tried, it's a really solid spot if you're in the area. Extra points for their excellent service as well!

Came here twice in the past few weeks and it's such a cute little spot. The food is amazing, fish tacos, tuna tostaditos, even the drinks are great. The interior has such a nice vibe and the staff is friendly. My only critique would be the amount of servers, when I came during lunch it took forever to get our order in. But dinner had more staff and we were brought everything much quicker.

Brunch On A Sunday! For starters I attempted to dine here on New Years Day. I called ahead a few days before to ensure they would be open and a gentlemen assured me they would be. My boyfriend and I drive over on New Years Day and surprise surprise they're closed. Moving along we decided to try again 2 weeks later on a Sunday. We arrived at 11:15ish and were the only ones there. We walked into an empty restaurant, no host or employee in sight. After standing around someone came out of the kitchen and said we can sit anywhere. We decided to sit along the bench area to avoid the cold from the windows. Our waiter which was the only employee there for our entire meal gave us menus. I went with the chilaquiles and my BF had French toast. Within 15mins of us sitting the place was packed. Our waiter was attending to the entire restaurant Upon check-in via Yelp I received an offer for a free glass of wine with entree. I showed it to said waiter and asked if I could have a glass of Prosecco. He said he never saw the offer before but believed it was only for New Years Eve and would have to call a manager. He never came back with an answer so I flagged him down and asked what was said by the manager. He said she said I would only be able to use it for a glass of wine not prosecco? Is Prosecco not wine? Regardless of sparkling or flat it's still a wine. Instead of a back and forth I declined the "wine" and asked for the check. After receiving our meals our waiter never checked on us. I do understand he was essentially running the entire room but I also watched him check on others.

My favorite Mexican restaurant in the neighborhood. The food never disappoints and their shrimp quesadilla is my go to. The service was great I was seated immediately and my order was taken right away. It's a small space but always feels very cozy and intimate. Everyone was super friendly and attentive. So if you're ever in the Mott Haven area definitely check them out!

With both à la carte options and a $44 Prix Fixe menu, we went for the prix fixe -- and it was the best decision of the day. A truly enchanting brunch that felt as if we had slipped away to a cozy café in Paris. The atmosphere was lively yet relaxed, with live soft jazz music setting the perfect tone. The staff was warm and attentive, anticipating every need -- even the bread served with a luxurious French butter with black sea salt was top notch. No land Lake served on their tables. Cocktails Bloody Mary -- perfectly mixed, bright and briny with just the right touch of horseradish Peach Bellini -- light, fruity, and beautifully balanced Appetizers Salmon Tartare -- diced fresh tuna , with a vibrant pesto sauce, served with crisp baguette toasts. Not only did the food roll off my tongue, but it was a substantial first course. Hubby opted for the Soup du jour, a comforting individual tureen of butternut squash soup, delicately garnished with sunflower seeds -- savory with just a hint of sweetness, the perfect bowl for a cold, rainy day. I had a few spoonfuls and can agree it was delicious and warming. Entrées So many options I really had a tough time picking one. So many classic French dishes, but the buckwheat crepe won out. A SMOKED SALMON CREPE Filled with chopped salade, in a buckwheat crêpe, sunny up egg. Great to the last bite. Husband continued with a French theme steak sandwich with brie cheese, pickle shallots, aioli, and pomme frites Dessert Chocolate Mousse -- airy, rich, and deeply satisfying; the perfect sweet finish. The waiter comes over with a huge tureen of chocolate mousse and scoops out a huge amount of it to add in your dessert plate . Quite the presentation. Paired with after-dinner drinks, this brunch was a seamless blend of French elegance and warmth -- every bite, every note of music, every detail thoughtfully done. A truly delightful experience we can't wait to repeat.

There's always something new whenever I return home, and this time it was Chez Messy, just around the corner from the 157th Street train station. Perched up upon a small staircase, this two-floor restaurant is intimate, cozy, and deeply sultry. Nestled in the heart of Uptown New York City, a neighborhood known for its Dominican roots and growing diversity, Chez Messy shines as a Spanish Caribbean infused gem that took my breath away. The space feels both refined and familiar, elegant yet soulful. As I sat waiting for my mother, I opened the menu, and immediately everything called my name. Our server Joshua was an absolute delight, attentive, kind, and confident in every recommendation. Antonio, the owner and floor manager, greeted us with charm and poise. Dressed in a sharp suit, he exuded pride and grace, the embodiment of someone who deeply loves what he has created. What touched me most was realizing that this Spanish Caribbean dream of a restaurant is owned and operated by Dominicans. As someone who has traveled the world and eaten in countless hidden gems tucked along cobblestone streets, I can say this place holds its own among the best. We started with a crisp glass of Albariño and dove into the pulpo and mofonguitos filled with ropa vieja. Let me start by saying I'm not typically a red meat superfan, but that evening I was completely transformed. The ropa vieja was tender, savory, juicy, and full of flavor. The plantain cups that held it were subtly sweet, creating a beautiful harmony between bold and delicate notes. The pulpo was perfection, tender octopus paired with a light touch of vinegar and oil, thinly sliced onions, capers, and cherry tomatoes that burst like little jewels of freshness. It was bright, balanced, and refreshing, a perfect prelude to what would become an unforgettable meal. Then came a surprise from Antonio, the avocado salad and batatas bravas, further inviting us into the full Chez Messy experience. I've had batatas bravas in Spain and beyond, but these were divine. Perfectly crisp on the outside, soft and creamy on the inside, with seasoning that danced on the palate. The avocado salad was heaven itself, silky avocado paired with slivers of almonds and a hint of citrus, perhaps grapefruit, creating a beautifully layered bite that was both rich and refreshing. By the time our entrée arrived, filet mignon and shrimp in cream sauce, medium rare, we were already swept away. The filet was tender and bursting with flavor, the shrimp perfectly cooked, and the cream sauce was so delicious that I found myself tempted to lick the plate. Everything about our experience at Chez Messy was divine, from the impeccable service to the romantic, dark, and dreamy ambiance, the vibrant music that moved through the air, and the drinks that sparkled as much as the conversation. Chez Messy is where you go when you want great food in a wonderful location, when you want to feel inspired, seen, and transported. It is a love letter to Spanish Caribbean flavor and Dominican pride, wrapped in elegance and joy. This place deserves to be full every night, though a part of me secretly wants to keep it all to myself.
