Hidden Gem! Amina's is a super busy but lowkey breakfast spot located in a very high traffic area. They have a few tables for people who wish to dine in. Service can tend to be slower during the morning rush because the person taking the orders is also taking payment and tending to the tables. Have some patience with them... the food is totally worth it! read more

My son and I stopped in for a meal before a Yankee game. Armina's was perfect! The service was very friendly and efficient, and the food was delicious. I had huevos rancheros and my son chose tinga enchiladas. We shared a plate of chorizo. Everything, including the coffee was very good. We sat on the back patio, which was a nice, quiet and comfortable oasis away from the game crowd. We'll be back again for sure. read more

More like a bodega that serves fast food, this place is tiny and only has a couple of tables in a cramped space at the front of the store. This place is awesome! We came here curious about the Churro Waffles and also got their breakfast burrito. The churro waffles are PACKED with cinnamon sugar; they were really delicious and had a nice soft chewy texture. The burrito was the star for us though; all the ingredients were hot and fresh and good. I love scrambled eggs with refried beans and this was just an excellent meal. We also had iced coffee which was solid; a little too sweet for me but I blame myself for accidentally getting sugar AND flavored syrup. Definitely recommend this spot! read more

This unassuming, authentic Mexican cafe might just be the best part of Jury Duty in the Bronx. First, it's the best cup of coffee I'd ever had! Second, they offer service with a smile. Last but not least, the food is fresh and has home cooked flavor. My Greek salad with chicken was amazing. Not a trace of that typical diner taste! It's what I ordered yesterday and what I will have again tomorrow. Even if they dismiss me, I'm coming back for lunch. And I don't even live that close! About a 25-minute drive. Ordered 16 sandwiches for a pre-game breakfast and they were packaged beautifully and were absolutely delicious. They accommodated my request for no paper wrapping - just foil - as I wanted the option to pop them in the oven to re-heat if necessary - and the woman who took my order - maybe Rosie? - was so sweet and helpful - called me "hermosa" and I melted. Sandwiches truly were yummy and I have no doubt the quality of their food and customer service is consistent. So pleased to have found them and intend to frequent them in the future. I order from here frequently. I have never been disappointed in I'll say the 5 times I've ordered. The coffee cups wrapped up and barely a drop spilled. They have espresso by the way. This is a Gotta visit small spot in the Bronx next to the Bronx Courthouse. The staff is very friendly and bilingual. Ordered the chilaqulies and they were very tasty. The breakfast burrito was definitely off the hook. Ordered the chips and guacamole because it looked great on the menu. Cute street view and interior cute decor. I was in the neighborhood and wanted to eat something different so I figured I'd walk into this little shop to eat Mexican food. I immediately noticed that the prices are either not on the items or the price is written over painters tape and is hard to read. A few public defenders from the courthouse were taking a long time paying their tab so I just left. When I came back into the shop I noticed that the same two older Mexican women were sitting down, comfortably chatting away by the register, the cashier lady was taking an order and there was a child doing homework in the dining room. Needless to say but I will not be going back to this spot. This is one of the poorest, most run-down neighborhoods in The Bronx and this little Mexican spot epitomizes the disdain I have for supporting independent eateries. My advice to the owners is please do better. I walked in there twice and it felt hostile and inhospitable. read more

The fun part about my job is I get to travel all over the place and with that comes new restaurants. One of the best burrito I've had in a while. The place isn't fancy, pretty simple actually, the menu is on the walls and really it's just authentic Mexican food. Prices are really reasonable, maybe too reasonable. Really the rest of the group chose 3 tacos plate, a taco bowl, and my burrito. We all enjoyed our meal, food was really tasty and cooked well. Also, the lady at the counter is very sweet and helpful. The food is actually pretty good but I am giving three stars due to it being a bit pricey considering the amount of food you get. I ordered an enchilada de mole poblano (Tinga) and it ended up being almost $17, which is way too pricey considering you only get a little bit of rice and a little bit of salad. I was very good, but way too little bit of food and expensive. I've gotten an enchilada de mole from another restaurant for less money and a significantly bigger portion. Especially with this whole pandemic going on, (as we know) it's hard to find good food, and a place you like that is open. Upon walking in I was greeted with great service. Not being entirely sure what I wanted to eat I took some time to decide with no pressure whatsoever, even with someone behind me waiting to order. Upon decided I was told there was plenty of room in the back to sit and wait. I waited back there (not long) and instantly got a feeling of warmth and comfort within the whole area and staff. Once my food had arrived I knew the food looked great. I had ordered a Philly Cheesesteak and it was arguably better than ones I've had in Philadelphia. That and the coffee were SO good. I wasn't sure what to do as far as paying and my dirty dish went so I brought it to the front. After paying with Rosie, I was given even more great service and felt VERY welcomed. This is somewhere I will definitely revisit, as it offers the whole package. I fully appreciate the experience I received. read more
