A friend and I stopped at Maisonetta for brunch last week. The place was not crowded and looked really cute inside. The menu was inviting, and we ordered the cucumber margarita special. The drink was good, but it could have used a little more tequila. I ordered the sopecitos from the menu, and although the food was good, we waited more than 20 minutes for it to arrive even though there were only about three other tables occupied. I would definitely come back because the food was enjoyable, but the long wait was disappointing. read more

Stumbled in this little sexy spot on Lincoln Ave today and wow is all I can say!! Chill vibe and atmosphere as soon as I walked in . Staff is friendly and welcoming! Growing up right across the bridge in East Harlem I would have never expected an establishment like this on this side but here it is!!! I love it!!! Maisonetta is a Mexican-French Fusion Family owned Restaurant located in the corner of Lincoln Ave. in Downtown Bronx. It's a nicely decorated, dimly lit, cozy place with a variety of music that's not too loud, that's good for couples as well as groups. The waiters are very friendly & accommodating & the service is pretty fast. The Classic Burger was big & tasty. You can pick from several cheese options to complement your burger. I'm not a big fan of French Fries but the fries here are so good! They're perfectly cooked, not greasy & best of all they don't wilt if you take them home & eat them the next day! They're cocktails are well made & since it's a family owned business, we had a special treat at our table with one of the tenants playing his guitar. But in this age of neighborhood shift- lemme clear my throat- gentrification, Maisonetta is here to make its mark. When Maisonetta joined the Mott Haven scene in '23(?), I bookmarked it for its slight "French" take on Mexican food. While it attracted some black and brown folks like myself, it also attracts that newer clientele who've moved to the area. Faux florals give it a colorful, welcoming feel, but it's the full bar and central counter that steal the spotlight. Comfortable seating and the sunlight streams right through the windows. The menu? Small, but with enough to choose from. My mom and I kicked things off with the passion fruit agua fresca. Honestly, it had a smidge of passion fruit and wasn't filled all the way. Let's just say it tasted more like agua than anything else. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I had the ($19) Omelette Florentine with a side salad. Tasty, but my kid's ($21) wild mushroom omelette with garlicky home fries stole the show. I honestly wanted to trade plates. Brunch On A Sunday! For starters I attempted to dine here on New Years Day. I called ahead a few days before to ensure they would be open and a gentlemen assured me they would be. My boyfriend and I drive over on New Years Day and surprise surprise they're closed. Moving along we decided to try again 2 weeks later on a Sunday. We arrived at 11:15ish and were the only ones there. We walked into an empty restaurant, no host or employee in sight. After standing around someone came out of the kitchen and said we can sit anywhere. We decided to sit along the bench area to avoid the cold from the windows. Our waiter which was the only employee there for our entire meal gave us menus. I went with the chilaquiles and my BF had French toast. Within 15mins of us sitting the place was packed. Our waiter was attending to the entire restaurant Upon check-in via Yelp I received an offer for a free glass of wine with entree. I showed it to said waiter and asked if I could have a glass of Prosecco. He said he never saw the offer before but believed it was only for New Years Eve and would have to call a manager. He never came back with an answer so I flagged him down and asked what was said by the manager. He said she said I would only be able to use it for a glass of wine not prosecco? Is Prosecco not wine? Regardless of sparkling or flat it's still a wine. Instead of a back and forth I declined the "wine" and asked for the check. After receiving our meals our waiter never checked on us. I do understand he was essentially running the entire room but I also watched him check on others. read more

The space is small but inside is beautiful. I've been here before and def recommend coming to this place at least once. The server and bartender this night were super friendly and helpful. I always ask for recommendations before ordering and both were happy to help. For food I got their tacos- You can choose to order a platter of one taco or choose different individual tacos. I choose the latter. I got my go rod of carne asada, al pastor, and pollo asado. I was adventurous and also got their pulpo enchilado (octopus) taco. I enjoyed the tacos. As for cocktails I ordered the Frida which includes tequila, Cointreau, fresh lime juice, and raspberry puree. The cocktail was just okay. It lack layers of flavor for my liking. read more

I was craving some octopus in the Bronx and haven't been in a while. So, my partner and I went together on a Sunday Night. Food: 5/5 I always love the food here so that is my go-to. This is a Manhattan restaurant quality in the Bronx!! The octopus is always tender and crispy, the burritos are so big that you need to take half home, and the churros will always be my favorite dessert. The food is always fresh and prepared to order! Service +Ambiance: 5/5 I will admit this is not a fast pace restaurant, you will be here for a while. But, it allows you to really enjoy your experience without being rushed. They are very attentive but, feel comfortable calling a waiter if you need something. All in all, I love coming here because it is always amazing. I came here for restaurant week and I loved my experience. I first ordered from the happy hour menu. I ordered the chicken tostada. It was little but very flavorful. I was unsure whether to order the restaurant week menu because it was alot for me but all the items were things I wanted to try. So I do order it and I am glad I did, I did not regret it at all. I had the crab empanadas, steak and the churros for dessert. I also ordered two drinks and when you check in on Yelp you get a glass of wine for free. Let's talk about the food the Empandas were very delicious and the presentation of the food was beautiful. The filling was very flavorful, had actual crab in it and there was a sauce on the dish which was delicious. I loved this appetizer and hope they make it part of their regular menu. Next the main course I had the steak, the steak was cooked perfectly exactly how I asked and it was flavorful. The dish had an egg, maduros and chaulafan. The chaulan was good but it was not greasy for me. The whole dish was great but would have probably wanted something citrus to cut the grease. Also the dessert was quite delicious the churros, were fresh and hot, the sauces which came with the churros were a great addition without being overly sweet. I ordered two drinks coconut margarita and coconut mojito. The coconut margarita was really good. The service, it was amazing the employees are very friendly. It is a family owned business and I felt as if I knew them well. The restaurant is beautiful inside and they have outdoor seating. It is a wonderful place which I would recommend to anyone.
