We came over to try their mousse desserts at around 7:30 pm on a Thursday night. We got a table for two pretty quickly and looked through the menu which had their unique desserts in plated forms. At the front, it seems like you can get their individual desserts to go. It was very bright, open and relaxing inside with the couch like seats. Yuzu - This came with their yuzu mousse, mango apricot sorbet and a sort of crumble with a cookie under the yuzu mousse. It looked really realistic with how they crafted it. The mousse itself was light and fluffy with a nice layer of vanilla cake. Paired with the sorbet, it was more sweet and refreshing which helped balance the sour yuzu. I really enjoyed the crumble on the side which added more texture and depth overall. My sister opted for the mango which came with a mango mouse and pecan butter ice cream. This was very well balanced as well from the fresh mango jam center to the creamier nutty pecan ice cream. Overall, we really enjoyed trying their unique elevated mousse desserts and would come back to try other flavors they offer.
v aesthetic cafe with the prettiest desserts! Loved the matcha and mango crepe cake slices. The matcha is definitely on the more decadent/milkshake side if you're into that. I'm already dreaming when I'm going back for that mango.
Cute bakery/cafe that is great for tea or coffee and dessert. We had the Tropical Tea with a Yuzu and a Polar Bear - all good. Convenient location near 30th St station.
Super cute and a nice place to take some cafe pics! I like that the desserts were not too sweet, but imo the food was just alright. HOWEVER the aesthetic and cute pics made it worth it.
Date: 12/18/25 MAISON Sweet has been on my list for a few months. At first I wasn't sure if I wanted to dine-in, and thankfully the staff were accommodating when I changed my mind and ordered To Go. Tiramisu Mille Crepes: 6/10. I absolutely love tiramisu but this was mushy. They have a traditional tiramisu that I didn't order. Jasmine Green Milk Tea Boba: 7.5/10. The tea was great, however, I ordered a Large (20oz) and was given a smaller size (12oz). The boba was undercooked and hard. I added red bean and some were undercooked as well. Overall, this is a quiet, aesthetic-friendly café. Its prices are higher than other bakeries and bobas in the city, and there's an up-charge for dine-in.
This place was SO cute!!! Loved the interior and everyone was receptive with service. Also, we were amazed by how cute the pastries were! And delicious! Definitely gotta come back to try their beverages
It's more of a restaurant vibe than cafe. I didn't mind it but didn't expect to be seated by a hostess. Honestly service was a bit slow before they came to take our order. I got a matcha oat milk latte which was tasty. My friend wanted an uncaffeinated tea but they only had two options and they were sweet milk teas. I asked for a cup of water but they only have hot water available so she gave me a cup of hot water with ice, which was a bit bizarre, but at least she tried. The place is super cute and desserts looked interesting but we weren't hungry.
Maison Sweet is a contemporary bakery serving afternoon tea alongside adorable and aesthetic desserts. Reasonably priced, I'd actually recommend 3+ individuals splitting the afternoon tea set for 2. --- I went to Maison Sweet on a weekday mid-day for the afternoon tea deal for 2. Not a sweet tooth, I found the deal to be a large number of sweets (we took half home after just doing a sampling). They included one pot of tea (non-refillable?) which lasted us until the end of our meal. We were seated upon arrival ASAP but we found at times it was hard to communicate with the server/find them despite the bakery not being very busy. However, the food and tea did come out very fast! We ordered the Afternoon Tea Set for 2 (which honestly we felt should be split among more than 2!). We received an (A) Earl Grey Cream Puff (since the other options were sold out), (B) Tiramisu- Special Cream Cake, (C) Matcha Coconut- Mille Crepe Cake, (D) Mango Sorbet - Ice Cream, and (E) Organic Tea (of which there was no option to change it). Our ranking of favorites was the (1) Earl Grey Cream Puff, (2) Mango Sorbet, (3) Matcha Coconut Crepe Cake, and (4) Tiramisu. The cream puff had a fantastic earl grey tea flavor, perfect cream puff soft shell with a flavor similar to a pineapple bun, and was not too sweet. The mango sorbet was a very standard sorbet and had a good velvety texture. The matcha coconut cake had a good flavor for the coconut portion but we felt there was too much matcha filling, such that it felt more like a matcha pudding. We didn't really care for the matcha half, but if you are a big matcha fan, it could be a hit for you! Lastly, we didn't really enjoy the tiramisu. It didn't really have any coffee flavor and was a bit dry compared to typical tiramisu. The Afternoon Tea Set for 2 is certainly aesthetic, affordable, and fun. I think it is one of the only locations for afternoon tea near the UCity area. Reasonably priced and portions of a great size, I would recommend this to any group of friends trying to plan a catch-up or hangout together! I would just keep in mind that service may be a little slow after ordering.
I popped in on this inconspicuous place on Chestnut St. in University City one recent morning and was pleasantly surprised by the place. Having seen the name being the French word for 'house,' I assumed it was a French-inspired cafe, but one look inside and it is obvious the place is decidedly Asian-inspired chic. Upon approaching the front counter, a young lady asked if we would like to be seated, a unique twist for a coffee house. Though we weren't expecting to dine in, my friend and I agreed to hang out and have some coffee and a dessert for a bit. The seating area at Maison was hella cool, warm and stylish, with cool lighting throughout. Our waiter was friendly and efficient and the coffee/ espresso was good, but it was the desserts that left me wanting to come back for more. Simply delectable, and I can't believe I forgot to take a photo of my Caramel Cheese Pudding. Grrr! Maison Sweet is its own unique slice of coffee and sweets heaven and I'll be sure to check out some more sweets one day soon!
Very pretty place and even more aesthetically pleasing pastries (not the ones we got but check out their other items). We got the Jasmine Crepe Cake, Mango Pomelo Sage Crepe Cake, Iced Matcha with Strawberry and Iced Cocoa Milk Tea. Contrary to the name, the Jasmine cake had barely any taste or fragrance of Jasmine. The Mango Pomelo Sage has a harden layer of Mango puree on top that should technically be at the bottom of the cake because the design makes it impossible to cut it without butchering the whole slice. The cocoa milk tea was another disappointment because it was like drinking chocolate water. It could use some more milk and creaminess. The Strawberry Matcha drink was rich and delicious.
Great spot to get pastries, and the space is beautiful! If you're familiar with A La Mousse in Chinatown, I believe they are related and have similar pastries. I tried a Sesame Cream Puff and Strawberry Matcha drink and they were both well-made. It's close to the 30th Street train station and within walking distance of the Penn and Drexel campuses, so a good spot to hang out and enjoy dessert before, between, and/or after dinner if you're nearby.
Personally had the matcha oat milk latte and it was very refreshing. Nibbled a bite of the other desserts and it wasn't too sweet. The ambience of the place was quaint and a wonderful place for a good ol' afternoon tea
I recently had a great time at maison sweet with my friends. We were seated in the back booth, which was cutely decorated. We got the afternoon tea set for four. The sesame cream puff was good, but I liked the tiramisu one much better. The polar bear was aesthetically cute but nothing special taste-wise. I really enjoyed the yuzu mousse cake. The hard shell was very citrusy, and the crumble base was sweet and really good. The strawberry cream cake was not too sweet, and the jasmine crepe cake was good but didn't taste like jasmine. The matcha and English toffee ice creams were good. We also got jasmine tea, and the waitress refilled the pot for us :) There's a 3% surcharge on card, so bring cash if you can.
Lovely desserts right around the corner from the train station. I had 15 extra minutes and ran over here in the rain. The Yuzu was so so tasty - the crust was a bit too sweet. The other thing I ordered was mango and passionfruit but neither flavor really popped. I'd love to live closer to try more of their pretty treats! read more
This is a wonder dessert shop in downtown Philly. We came here on a Saturday afternoon and it was surprisingly not too busy. The dessert case at the front entrance has an amazing selection of fruit-themed desserts. The shop was nice and relaxing, very easy to just sit down and chill. We ordered the taro crepe cake and mango oat milk matcha. Both were really delicious and very fair pricing. This is a dessert spot that would be very comparable to what you would see in NYC, except less packed and not as pricey. A 5/5 place for sure! read more

We like to come by here in the evenings to grab some dessert and work in the evenings, since they have wi-fi, outlets, and are open relatively late compared to a lot of businesses in U-City. Service was really quick, from ordering, service, and to checking out. There's a lot of construction going on with the windows (must have been some kind of smash during the winter), but outside of the eyesore, it did not significantly impact our experience dining in tonight. We ordered the Yuzu Hokkaido Cheesecake, which was FANTASTIC. That guy was gone on arrival. read more

Wow! I had the most beautiful desert experience here. Such a beautiful and cozy place, the butter pecan was absolutely perfect, buttery and rich in flavors. I will come back for more and more deliciousness! read more
Very aesthetic. Decent amount of seating, saw some people studying as well. Got some drinks to-go and it they tasted great! The cakes looked really good! Didn't get any this time but have in the past. Kinda up priced for aesthetics but flavor was good. I believe Maison Sweet is a sister store to A La Mousse, which I know has good desserts. No complaints with service, I just wish they labeled the drinks. Got the Matcha Peach Latte, wished they added a little more peach. read more

Absolutely loved my experience at Maison Sweet. From the moment I walked in, everything felt so elegant, beautiful, and thoughtfully done. This place feels truly upscale, while still being warm and welcoming at the same time. The desserts look like little pieces of art, very delicate, beautifully balanced in flavor, and simply delicious. The drinks were also amazing, and the whole experience felt polished and special. The staff was very kind and friendly. Such a lovely gem in Philadelphia. I'll definitely be coming back and recommending it to others. read more
Very aesthetic dessert place in University City. We didn't get this because we came at night, but I thought that their afternoon tea sets were a good deal. The yuzu cheesecake was my favorite of the 2 slices we got. It was light and not too sweet. The mango pomelo crepe cake was also similar vibes, but I thought it could've had less regular cream and more mango/mango cream flavor. read more

There are so many choices of dessert at this store. One that caught my attention was the sleeping white bear. It looked so adorable. Yuzu mousse looked like a real lemon. There's a mango dessert that also looked like a real mango. This one was my favorite. The one that looked like a coffee bean had some chocolate pudding filling. I also bought tiramisu crepe layer cake, it was ok. There's some soaked lady fingers in the middle that gave the coffee flavor, other than that, it was plain. Cream puffs had good amount of filling. I was expecting to be creamy but it was very liquid. Overall it is a cute and clean dessert place with some seatings. read more

Stopped by for afternoon tea. Cute spot, food was good with different options. We got the afternoon tea for 4 and it was more than enough. Service was fast. We sat in the back but it was a bit drafty. The seats were interesting because we had two different heights depending on side but overall, would come back. read more
My cousin took me here while visiting Philly. What a fun way to enjoy yummy cakes. I appreciated the time taken to create each of the whimsical desserts like the polar bear vanilla mousse cake and the mango mousse cake. My favorite was the mango mousse hands down! The mango mousse had delicate layers to it. It was not overly sweet and a nice portion size. At nearly $10 for one, I think it is worth it on special occasions. If I were to go again, I would just buy multiple of the mango mousse. The polar bear cake was my second favorite. The mousse is very light and smooth. The least favorite was the hazelnut cake. It was a bit too dry for me and not nearly as good as the mousse cakes. read more
Worth a visit if a cute aesthetic cafe is your vibe! I've visited Maison Sweet twice now and there aren't many places in University City that has a cute interior and plenty of seating. I've tried a few of their pastry options and the stand out is definitely the yuzu mousse cake. The citrus gave a nice sharp and tart flavor to the mousse. Other than that, I think their other options are decent but do not stand out. With cream puffs and crepe cakes being the dessert craze for the past few years, the version that Maison Sweet does not leave a lasting impression. Similarly, the drinks are standard as well. I ordered the Rose Milk Tea once, which had some rose flavor but lacked a robust tea flavor. I have received good service each time I have visited so no complaints there. They do have a surcharge if you pay by card instead of cash. read more

This is hands down a top 3 dessert shop in my list. The desserts here are phenomenal. They all are packed with flavor but aren't over powering in sweetness. I've had the jasmine milk mille crepe cake, the salted egg taro cake, and Ferraro cake. The jasmine was the best so far. The salted egg taro cake was okay, nothing special, I would recommend trying the other flavors first. You can order in store and take your food to go or dine in and do work/study there. The space is beautifully designed. The employees are super friendly and can run you down the menu. My favorite matcha is the matcha mango. The matcha they make is so creamy and delightful - the green is just amazing. They use fresh fruit which I really appreciate. Overall, this is a favorite spot and I'll be coming out any time I'm back in Philly. read more

Loveeee! Super cute and tasty desserts! Love the interior and the cute photo op section with the KAWS. We ordered the mango crepe, mango mousse, and the polar bear. The mango mousse was filled with fresh mangoes in the middle and chocolate outer shell. The polar bear tasted like kinder or hazelnut chocolate inside. They also offer drinks and cakes. They sell the cakes for $45 each. It looked very clean inside. read more

Workers are very sweet and can speak Chinese. They have 2 and 4 people sets for afternoon tea from 1-5pm weekdays, perfect for (double) date(s) or hanging out with friends. Beautiful atmosphere where people chat and study. Can sometimes get crowded later in the day. Recommend any of their matcha drinks (strawberry is my favorite) if you want something milky and their Maison tropical tea if you want something refreshing. Drinks are around $6-7 depending on the size. I'd suggest upgrade if you can. You can find parking below Cira Green next door. read more

Tons of different desserts for those craving sweets (but not too sweet). It has ice cream, pastries, boba teas, and more. The place is pretty big too, so seating seems like it's always easy to get. Came with my family and my niece. We had a bunch of different desserts, but the stand out for me was definitely the Yuzu with the mango apricot sorbet. The sorbet was so good! I could get that all on it's own. And the yuzu was perfect. Tasted just like the fruit. Definitely one of the best dessert spots in Philly read more
Super cute cafe located in University city with that chic wooden aesthetic! It's also a great spot to hang out and study since it's pretty spacious inside. Food/Dessert: All the desserts here look reallyy cute, and I think pricing is reasonable given the presentation. They are kind of similar to A La Mousse, in the sense of Asian desserts & drinks that aren't too sweet (I think they're a sister store). My friend and I got the Matcha Yuzu Mille Crepe Cake ($12) and the Ferrero Cream Cake ($8.50). Matcha Yuzu Mille Crepe Cake - The yuzu adds a refreshing tanginess to the creamy crepe cake, and while I do wish the matcha was a bit stronger (I love a strong matcha flavor in desserts), the combo was really yummy. [Update: Apparently this is a special cake, so they don't have it all the time. Another alternative that is available is their Matcha Coconut Mille Crepe Cake]. Ferrero Cream Cake - This cake was slightly disappointing, we weren't blown away or anything, it just tasted okay. Not good, not bad either. Would probably skip this one next time and go for another one of their signatures (like the cream puffs and their Yuzu mousse cake). Service & Location: Service was as expected, and quick. This cafe is located next to Drexel, near the 30th street train station. read more

Stopped by Maison Sweet since we were in the area & needed to kill some time. Glad we did! We got a table & ordered the Matcha latte, Maison tropical tea & the butter pecan tart with vanilla pecan butter ice cream. The tart & ice cream is to die for! The scoop of ice cream is sitting on a cookie crumble which has an amazing crunch & it's so delicious! The tart has a vanilla cream topping & it's not too sweet ... just perfect! The drinks were good too, but I will be thinking about the dessert for a long time. If you're in the area, give it a try. I'm sure you'll be pleasantly surprised! read more

Amazing bakery! I ordered a cake for my partner, it was their birthday and Maison sweet made it perfect. Communication was spot on and everything else after was just perfect. Absolutely amazing place, will definitely be back next time I come back to Philly. read more
I was visiting Philly and drove by a big grand opening sign. Decided to not go to the dessert place we originally planned to go to, and found a parking nearby to check out this place during their grand opening week... only to leave very disappointed and frustrated. When we walked in, we were pleasantly surprised at all the decorations and beautiful desserts. There was a bit of a line to order, but the line for dine in was different (on the right side as you enter). We were seated right away and given the menu, and there were so many desserts and drinks to choose from! Our server came right away and wrote down our orders on her physical notepad. The ordering machine (?)/their station was right behind us, where another server was standing there and they started chitchatting. I guess that's when she forgot to put our order in, because after about 20 minutes of waiting we didn't get anything. Then our same waitress came to us and asked if we were ready to order... like how did she forget that she's the one who took our orders?? So we told her she took our orders, but she did not recall. So she took our orders AGAIN and finally put them in the system (we watched her). It took another 20 minutes to get our first order. The drinks were mild and the flavors didn't really mesh well together. The taro was very smudgy and the texture was not pleasant. The Mango Tropical Tea was said to be very popular, but it was not worth the price.. It honestly just tasted like very fresh orange juice.. Then, the wrong orders started to come out.. What we ordered never came, and we were tired of constantly telling the people bringing out the desserts that these are not what we ordered. We called our server up and she didn't even remember our orders.. so we clarified and even pointed out on the menu what we ordered. Then the second dessert finally came out, but our third dessert (the Patrick Star one) did not come. I wanted everything to come out to take a picture but at this point we were just so tired of waiting and constantly getting the wrong orders.. At this point, we were here for about 1 hour and had only couple bites of our orders. When the last dessert finally came, we asked for the check and to-go boxes because we didn't want to be here any longer. Our server said that they charge for the to-go bags and containers, and we were just appalled.. After having to make us wait for that long because she never put our orders and forgot our orders constantly, we were asked to pay even more to bring these desserts home... I guess she saw our disappointed faces since in the end she said we could take them for free, but the bags said 'A La Mousse.' No wonder all these desserts looked so familiar.. TL;DR if you want to eat the desserts, to go the parent dessert place A La Mousse in Chinatown b/c their service is WAY better. I don't know if it was because we visited when it was their grand opening and the employees were new, but this was one of the worst experiences I experienced in awhile.. read more
