Totally enjoyable lunch. A bistro experience. I've visited France over 25 times over the past 55 years. The simple meal here helped me to reminisce about many meals I ate in humble family owned eateries throughout France. Charcuterie plate we ordered is more a sampling of three pate's with pickled shallots and cornichons. A somewhat meager portion, but exquisitely delicious. Two salads: One red beet and one endive. Both perfect in appearance and flavor. Loaded with the good stuff like goat cheese, croutons, and aromatic greens. The $12 baguette with a bowl of home made butter and a bowl of olive oil may seem a bit pricey, it was redeemed by the reality that it was perfect. The bread is made by Marla bakery in Santa Rosa. (I plan to visit there soon). Finished off this delicious and healthy meal with a couple of espressos. Okay, here comes the snark. You know the common knowledge about coffee in Europe? Answer: The best coffee is made in Italy, the worst coffee is made next door in France. It's not a problem with the quality of the beans or brewing method. It's just the taste preference of the different nation's people. That fact caries over to the coffee here at Maison Porcella. The coffee is exactly the flavor a French person would expect. And I wish it was Italian style (Just like my DNA). Conclusion: This is a very good French bistro. The menu is not diverse, but what is offered is great. Not cheap eats but a good value for the quality. See for yourself.

Delicious restaurant and just like you're in contemporary France. What a gem to have this level of place around. We loved everything and it's great because the owners are onsite and the chef and creators. My favorite is boudin blanc, as well as salade Lyonnaise. Come here whenever you can -- I am so thrilled this is right on Redwood Highway in Sonoma County!

The duck with green peppercorn sauce was out of this world! It was perfectly cooked, very tender, with crispy skin. The service was superb - friendly, but professional. This lovely French restaurant is as authentic as it gets!

Excellent hidden gem in windsor. Fresh, delicious, well plated, decadent food. Casual, yet easily the most elegant fare in town. Service was on point, friendly, and by the end of my visit, I knew I would be back again, and soon! 100% cannot recommend this spot enough.

The quality of the food is superb. I would refer to it as small plates / tapas rather than think of it as charcuterie boards. So friendly and great wines to go with the dishes. Still finding its way as a new Windsor eatery. The decor is fabulous, they did a really nice job in that. I am a pate fan, and theirs deserve a six star. Do

Mussels and frites

Wonderful surprise! This hole in the wall was a pleasant encounter!! We loved every minute! Food was awesome with the suggestions from the waitress/wife!! We had a puff pastry in a croque madam!! My wife had the mussels that were plentiful and perfectly cooked!!

Sweetbreads and mustard sauce

Simply amazing! Went there twice in 3 days (and it was 1 hour drive each way). On both visits I choose the sweatbreads, it was the best I had in a very long time. Everything is made in house, the charcuterie is delicious and 100% authentic. As a Frenchman, extremly nostalgic of the bistro and brasserie scene, this the best classic French bistro you can find this side of Paris! Special mention to Maud for her impecable front of the house performance and great wine knowleadge and recommendations! Can't wait to be back!

Hachis Parmentier with beef cheeks and potatoes. Delicious.

It also feels good to be supporting local winemakers with exceptional wines instead of corporations. Like almost all wineries and tasting rooms, it's very important to schedule your tasting in advance. We made an appointment in advance and did a wine tasting with Stringer Cellars. We sat down in their beautiful tasting room and were both blown away by all of their wines! They were all exceptional and we loved every one of the wines that we tried! On their website it says that their winemaking approach incorporates curiosity, grit, integrity, science, but most importantly the never ending pursuit of making great wine. We found that to be very true! It was an intimate experience to taste wines with the winemaker and it was a very educational experience as well. We loved learning about each of the wines, the wine making process, and the different wine regions where the grapes were grown. We were also able to tour the facility and it was an all around amazing experience! When you walk into Grand Cru there are wines showcased from the different wineries that provide wine tastings there so you can shop around and choose a bottle from a different winery if you would like to try out different wines as well. We absolutely loved this experience and will definitely be back!

And the ambiance was inviting and good energy was in the room! There had to be 6 wineries there today and it was a good friendly environment for everyone!! I tried most of the wines and there are good wines being made everywhere I often say this and it's true! The Mad Marvus winery and Cidery was who I started with! And all of her juice is Organic and made with no SO2 which is a probiem because the no sulfur idea is not good and in general causes funky flavors all through the line up! And then I went over to ONWARD WINES - and these were very good and delicious on the whole then I took in a break outside in the heat but covered outside area. Then back inside to start again with SCHEMA WINES - it's her first release and she makes 2 wines, the first being an Aligote white wine much like the Aligote's of Burgundy France, as she described it like a cross between Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc and she also makes a very clean tasting Cab Franc. Nice Raspberry flavor juice. And then after that I went to TANSY WINERY, a nice but unknowlegable girl was working at the table she was sweet enough to get by the lack of knowledge and they were all Italian varietals and very good. Then I went to try the wines at the Grenachista which were overall delicious wines. Then another break and then I did the eponymous winery, the Two Sheperds Winery and most of what they're producing was great and delicious!! All in all I had a great time and experience talking to the winemakers and tasting through their wines!!
