I've only been here once and I'm giving them a 4 star review for kindly fixing the mess of another salon! I desperately needed my acrylics removed as I would never trust myself to do it properly. The woman who removed them was very kind and as she was removing them kept remarking how badly done the job had been. The acrylics were actually hued to my cuticles making it a pain to get off. For only 19 dollars for am acrylic removal it was worth every penny. I did not get a manicure or anything so I can't rate based on anything else but I'm definitely willing to give then a try sometime. I'm never returning back here. I've been here before every now and then because it's cheaper than other places. I have a natural shape and fairly low maintenance eyebrows was just looking to get it cleaned up and slightly reshaped. But after today just doing it myself would be better than to have my eyebrow have a slash because she waxed or over trimmed my left eyebrow crooked in the middle so now I'm missing hairs because she thinned it out making it look like a bald line in the center, it looks horrendous like gangster.. And then she said come back in a month so she can fix it? Just so it can get worse? I'm sorry not coming back here to risk it. read more

Not only was I turned away they were extremely rude. Which was so embarrassing. Especially the girl with the short bob looking hair cute. I've been going to Mai's Nails for a long time now. Tracy has been doing my pedicures. She does a wonderful job, takes her time , is very careful and it's so relaxing. My nail tech that I've been going to for over 10 years moved so I decided to have Tracy start doing my nails. I'm very, very particular about my nails to the point where I probably drive Tracy crazy. But she is so sweet and accommodating. She is so meticulous, takes her time and my nails look amazing. I have long coffin/ballerina nails and I get complements everywhere I go. I always do the pink sparkle powder and the white sparkle powder (Ombre look) . I'm going to see if I can post a photo, and I hope the photo does her work justice. She also draws amazing flowers. I'm sure she can draw whatever you like on your nails but I always do different flowers. If your not happy with where your getting your nails and pedicure done, go here and ask for Tracy. I'm sure they all do a nice work but Tracy is the one I go to and I couldn't be happier. I'm so glad that Tracy is doing my nails now. read more

Was able to make an appointment on a Thursday for me and a friend 2 manis and pedis, for 6:00 PM the same day. Unfortunately, my friend got stuck at work and didn't end up getting there until 6:30. They took us both (30 mins late) and had two girls work on each of us. One for our manis and one for our pedis. I did not know they closed at 7 until halfway through our nails. I felt so bad, but was grateful they took us anyway and didn't say anything about them closing soon. We were out of there by 7:15 and were thankful they took us so late, most places would have turned us away read more

Horrible customer service. My cousin and I made appointments at 3 and we showed up 15 mins early. One lady took my cousin 10 mins after 3. I watched her check her phone like 10 times. Its now 345 and no one has said a word to me and I'm still sitting here waiting. They're not even that busy. My cousin's now almost finished so I'm just going to leave with her but dang this is ridiculous. I've never been to a nail salon this horrible and with such horrible service. I have a baby at home so getting time out to do this is hard and now I just wasted my time. I'll stick to my original nail salon Elegant Nail & Spa on felicita in Escondido. I only Yelp if places are really good or really bad and this is pretty bad. read more

Just moved nearby this shop, and decided to go here today for a pink and white full set. I totally agree with the review before me, this place is nothing fancy, just okay service and kind of bare on the inside. My nails turned out okay, but i did feel the price (35 dollars) was a bit the high side for the service and quality i got. Ive paid that same price before at a much nicer salon with better service, and in my opinion better results. I might give this place one more try just because it is soooo convenient for me, being 2 minutes from my house. But if i have the same experience as today i think im gonna have to find a new nail place. read more

I am increasing my star rating on this one to a 3 (from the previous 2 star rating). I was in a pinch for time and this place happened to be close to the tanning place where I tan and so I ran in here last minute for a polish change. The manicurist did a great job on the polish and they had the best color ever by OPI. I still don't think I would go here for a full on manicure or pedicure. I would go here however for quick polish changes! And the price is right too, only $7 for polish! read more

They are extremely RUDE!!! Although it states Walk Ins welcome on their door....they tell you to call and make an appointment. When you do get in just to get toenail polish they tell you there is a minimum charge on credit cards. When you still smile and say "Thank you" they say nothing. There are much nicer manicurists in happier salons. This atmosphere is horrendous, unhappy, and rude. read more

I'm not sure what the name was of the woman who did my pedicure. Everything seemed normal until she cut my cuticles. Some of them were cut unevenly and others so short that they stung when my feet went back in the water. Everything else seemed unremarkable until I looked at my nails when she was done. 1) The edges of some nails were not even painted and will peel within days as a result 2) The paint is uneven and my nails show through in places 3) The "flower" design was a few dots that didn't connect. When I looked close and commented that I could see through the uneven polish, the woman argued with me and told me it was the paint's fault. In fact, that's what happens when you don't let each coat dry. No offer to fix it. Just rude arguments. I am a small business owner and would never treat customers this way! Holly took care of my mom and always does a great job. This woman had slightly bleached, curly hair. I'll never go back. What a waste. First time here, this is gonna be my new nail place. The lady that did my toes was very gentle and she did an amazing job! Made my beastly feet look like Cinderella's feet forrealz! I wish I got her name but either way she was a pleasure. First time I ever happily tipping and leaving without my feet being in pain. Been here a couple times before and the experience was fairly okay, but this last time was by far the worst experience I've had at a salon. First I told the lady I needed a new set since it would be my fifth fill and she filed my nails and told me she would just fill them again, not put a new set on. Now I'm guessing this is because she wanted to get me in and out as fast as possible but don't take someone if you don't have time to fill their needs? Second of all when she was filling my nails I have never had anyone cut my so much. Every single nail on both sides were cut. Which she was also using tools that came from a container labeled "soiled" she filed my natural nails underneath after the fill completely destroying them (photos included) which I'm so devastated about. I don't understand why she would need to take a file to my natural nails when she wasn't putting a new set on. Third, I chose my color in the beginning and she didn't pull it until after she filled my nails, which led to the wrong color being put on my nails. Now I don't like confronting people and I thought it would get darker with a second coat so I didn't say anything and with the second coat I felt it was too late to say anything. A couple other things she did that was a little rude was kept looking at the door and not paying attention to what she was doing to my nails ( I kept looking back expecting to see something but nothing was there) and she got on the phone halfway through my nails which was very unexpected and if I were to ever do that at work I would be fired. read more

I recently moved to this area so I was looking for a new nail salon. I went here for a pedicure one day and while they did a good job I watched them turn away some customers claiming to have a long wait, but they took others right away that did not have appointments. I thought it was unfair and assumed that they were making room for customers that will spend more money (The customers they turned away only wanted polish and nail removals). The second time I went they turned me away. Needless to say I won't be back. I went to another salon that was twice as busy but took every customer in a timely manner. Do not go here unless you want an infection. I got a manicure and pedicure here and ended up with 2 infected toes and 1 infected finger. The girl chopped into my toe and had to immediately add some blue liquid that stung like crazy to stop the bleeding, a few days later some of my toes and a finger were swollen, red, and eventually producing puss...disgusting. I'm fairly certain they don't sanitize their tools after each customer. read more

Recently I had an appointment for a pedicure. The gal came on time but as soon as she sat down to do my toes, she got out her iphone and dialed. She talked a bit, then got up and walked across the room and talked for another 15 min. She came back, sat down and still talked. When my time was up, I had gotten a 1/2 done job but charged for a whole pedicure. The gal has two days off a week and she takes 2 hrs off every afternoon so there should be no reason why she couldn't make her calls on HER time and not mine. The owner should sit all the gals in that shop down and tell them to pay attention to customers and not to be using their phones while they have customers. I'm really unhappy with that service there and will be looking for another place to do my toes. read more
