If you're a first time shooter, and the instructor isn't there, they'll show you how to use the weapon. I say one guy was that helpful bc he started about how they charge for that. It's been a few years since I went so I was asking for reminders. Then the other guy I talked to on the phone stepped in and helped us and told the other guy he said he'd help us. Jeff was a great teacher for me. He was very patient. It has been over 6 years since I have shot a weapon. He helped me with my stance and where to place my hands. Jeff gave me lots of encouragement. My first time shooting indoors.... I had a new revolver, I'd never shot a revolver, and I'd not had a chance to drive an hour to a WMA, so I gave these guys a shot. I was very happy with my choice. Staff were knowledgeable, friendly, and answered my questions about my new gun. They made sure i was comfortable BEFORE heading in to shoot. The lady two lanes down from me had questions and they seemed attentive and gracious throughout her process. I spent no time at all on their inventory, but I liked what I saw. The service was poor, we called in advance to ask if we can come in around 7 and they said it's okay and they'd stop taking people at 7:30. Once we arrived we were greeted with a passive aggressive "You know we start kicking people out in 30 minutes." Which we still accepted and another worker there was very pushy on getting us out the store saying no under his breath. I really want to like this business. The owner is a cool guy, most of the staff are friendly and knowledgeable, the range is clean and well-run and the inventory in the shop is some of the best I have ever seen. But, after my recent sub=par experience receiving an FFL transfer here, I am not a happy customer. As a point of reference. I have done scores of FFL transfers at businesses all over the state and am well-versed in how long it should take. This transfer, however, at Main Street Guns & Range took an entire hour. Yes, an entire hour for a 15-minute (tops) process. In his defense, the employee doing the transfer was also helping another customer with what appeared to be a complicated purchase. But there were several other employees present who it, seems, could have come over and pitched in to help out. But they didn't, and I stood there for an hour. After this experience I do not believe I will ever have any future FFL transfers sent to this business, my time is too valuable to me to do so. read more

First time going there. Check in process was fine. They do hold onto your license directly while you are in the range. The location has long range area for the more powerful guns like rifles or shotguns. As with all other locations, they do sell a variety of guns as well. Because I was going with my husband and hadn't been in 10 years, I'm not sure if the people watching the camera saw my response to the guns going off around me, as there was a 45 cal on one side and someone with a shot gun on the other side. My poor husband hugged me to calm me sown as I almost left, but the range people came in and move the man with the shotgun to his appropriate area. After some time, I got warmed up and was able to practice fine without incident. So overall, good service and decent range. I would go again if my hubby wanted me to..lol. read more

The range that I usually go to was closed for maintenance and the owner actually referred me here. It was less than 15 minutes away so I decided to ride up to Lilburn. I checked in with staff to rent a lane. I had my own gear and only needed to purchase ammo. The staff member was even kind enough to ask me where I would like to be positioned in the range. I love going to the range, but I'm not a fan of shooting next to other people. The range was clean and functional. Afterwards, I browsed their firearm displays and was impressed by their stock of firearms for sale. They offer law enforcement discounts and ladies shoot free on Wednesdays. read more

------- Negatives ------ The only real issue was actually the complete lack of ventilation on the range. When I first opened the door to the range I actually said, "Holy cow!" when I saw how hazy it was in there. When we left an hour later, our nostrils were all black. It's the next day and we're all still getting black boogers. ------- Positives ------ They have an active range safety officer (RSO), but were very laid back about non-safety related things. The range felt safe, without feeling micromanaged. I saw the RSO helping my friends with their technique shooting their .45 1911. ------- Neutral ------ The four of us went here for the range. The first day we went, we sent our friend in to see if there were lanes available. He said that no one really acknowledged him. He waited a while then we all left. Came back the next day. The staff were friendly enough, but it was clear only one staff member knew what they were doing and the others were untrained and/or really new. We looked at a couple of guns after leaving the range. One of the guys we spoke to admitted right off the bat that he had no idea what he was doing and hadn't been trained. Not that he needed to say it; when taking the pistol out of the case, he flagged people with his finger on the trigger. Price wise, not the cheapest on what we looked at. They wanted $300+ pretax for a standard TX22 (with an unthreaded barrel), and $500+ for the TX22 competition. I just purchased a TX22 (with threaded barrel) for $249.44, with FFL transfer, with shipping, and taxes, in my hand for $291.34. $30+ for a 10 round magazine, that's $18 anywhere else for a 16rd. When we asked if they price match the main guy said they do, "but there's so many caveats and fine print that... you know..." We brought our own, but if you rent a gun, you'll be forced to buy their ammo (which is 2x normal store price of course). read more

Whether you are a expert marksman or a beginner like myself, this is the place you want to go shoot! My wife and I went for a date night and used a Groupon they had for about 45$, definitely worth it. Due to Covid, they do have certain restrictions you have to follow to shoot, such as providing your own gloves and mask while you shoot and waiting until in line until it's your turn to shoot (only 8 to 10) people are allowed in the range to shoot at a time. If you want to just shop, you don't have to wait and are allowed to go right in. After about an hour of waiting in line (45mins is about the average wait time) we were able to go in and choose our weapon and targets. Since it was our first time shooting we didn't know what to ask for, so the clerk recommended a 9mm so we went with that. We were told earlier that they ran out of bullets for the 9 but Lucky for us the clerk had one extra box left. We filled out our waivers, picked our targets, and was allowed to go into the range area. When inside, there was an instructor that gave us a few pointers for how to shoot since we were first timers, but there is a $15 course you can take that is more in-depth if you feel like you need it. We loaded up the weapon and got to shooting and if I could be honest....at first I did not like it! Lol it made me realize that everything I've ever saw in a action movie was a lie lol. But after a while of getting use to the weapon, it started to become a bit more fun. I'm sure I'll be back for more target practice in the future! read more

Went for my friend's birthday, it was Saturday so it was pretty busy. Most of us had never shot a gun before. Brian, the supervisor, was so helpful and gave us step by step tutorials for both a handgun and a rifle, which made us all more confident in the range. I had been shooting a black powder 1863 Remington replica outdoors, but wanted an indoor range. Called Mainstreet, was told "Sure, we have fans." Went there and proceeded to shoot a few rounds, but noticed no fans were running. Then was informed while I was on their range that I had to stop, black powder was not allowed. Aside from this, well run place but not sure why they don't use their fans. read more

The first time was okay, however the second time I was stopped by an employee in the parking lot. I was told I had to return inside the store because they believe I shot the target holder and they are going to charge me $250! I told them that if I did shoot it ,I didn't mean to but I am not a very good shot, that's why I came to there range, to learn to shoot. Then the manager told the employee to go ahead and charge me the $250. Even after I explained to them that I didn't mean to shoot it, they spoke to me as if I was a criminal. I then told them to cancel my membership, because I did not deserve to be talked to that way and It is too costly to come here. We had a great time here. We used a Groupon, but you have to buy the bullets. The bullets are very pricey at $26, but that could be me being cheap. If you've never shot a gun they make you watch a safety video, which is a huge plus. The video was around 10 mins max, but was very informative. I've had nothing but great experiences here. I had to miss Linda's first gun safety class so Jeff was nice enough to give me a quick 15 session. He even came in an hour before his shift to give me a more in-depth lesson and made sure that I was comfortable handling a gun. When I was able to take Linda's class, it was AMAZING! I went in that day feeling intimidated and left as a gun enthusiast. In two months time, I now own four guns, two rifles, and am a pretty accurate aim. I don't know everyone's name there yet, but Rob and Latieff were so helpful in giving me tips on grip positions and accuracy. We went here on a Wednesday and found out that women shoot free on Wednesday's! That's pretty exciting especially after paying for the bill and I thought it was still pricey. We did get 1 free shooting target for checking in through the Yelp app. Our bill was $80+ for two people. There's a good variety of options for shooting targets. There's about 4 lanes. It gets pretty loud inside I think because it's a small room. The guy who took care of us was really nice. I used the ear plugs and it made me feel really dizzy right away. So I would suggest using the ear muff. The room is pretty well lit also making it easy to see the target. This is a really fun way to go on a date or just to practice. I will definitely be going back again but on Wednesday's only. read more

Hands down the most accommodating staff on site. Everyone was VERY welcoming especially Angela! We dropped in on a late Saturday afternoon. Initially, the wait time was 2 hours however, no more 20 minutes into the wait Angela surprisingly called is up to enter the range YAY!! This was our visit and my very first time shooting a firearm. I was excited, anxious yet a bit nervous. We enjoyed 2 hours of range time and for checking in on Yelp, we received 1 free standard target. MG&R is my "go to" spot to purchase firearms and accessories. Every time I've made a purchase, I get great service. I'm typically in and out. Sidenotes for new people: Web prices are cheaper, because the firearm is coming directly from the distributor. They will NOT match that price. So no use in haggling the price. If you smell like alcohol or weed, you WILL be asked to leave. Don't get upset. Go shower and come back. Clear head. The store is too popular for it's size. You may be waiting for a while before you get a salesperson. (They need more people). Outside of that, the store is great, although ammo is a bit on the pricey side. read more
