Johns Creek Indoor Range is supposed to be a place where people go to learn, practice, and improve their firearm skills. Like any craft, shooting takes repetition -- and that means going through a lot of targets. Most ranges sell targets with a 2-3 inch gap between the edge of the paper and the printed target image. That's normal. But this range sells targets that clip within an inch of the scoring line on their holders. Then they turn around and charge you $1 for every hole that goes past that line. It's a setup, and it feels like a scam. No other range I've been to does this. And unlike most ranges that charge you upfront, Johns Creek Indoor Range waits until the end so they can nickel‑and‑dime you for every "over‑the‑line" hole. It's a tactic that takes advantage of new shooters and anyone who doesn't know their system. A range should help people learn -- not create a trap to squeeze extra money out of customers. This practice is misleading, unfair, and something no shooter should have to deal with. read more

The air quality inside the range is extremely poor, and the ammunition prices are outrageously overpriced. Compared to other professional shooting ranges, the prices are nearly three times higher. In addition, the ventilation system and overall customer service are unacceptable. I was strongly encouraged to purchase a one-year membership, but after experiencing the facility firsthand, I believe the membership program is highly misleading and completely inappropriate for the level of service being provided. The staff members demonstrate a shocking lack of professionalism and basic courtesy. Their attitudes are arrogant, disrespectful, and completely inconsistent with what customers should expect from a firearms-related business. Most concerning of all is the apparent lack of safety awareness. The careless attitudes, tone, and behavior displayed by the staff are deeply troubling in an environment where firearm safety should be the absolute highest priority. Overall, the condition, atmosphere, and operational standards of this shooting range are far below acceptable standards. I am extremely disappointed with the experience and would not recommend this facility to anyone who values professionalism, safety, and respect. read more

Just took the Basic handgun safety course. Scott Fann was our teacher. The course was excellent! Scott is a wonderful instructor. We were not bored at all. Safety is the top priority and each section builds on the next so that by the time you are actually shooting real bullets, you are comfortable (as well as you can be as a beginner). I feel like at the end of the course (3.5 hours and 50 bullets), I was pretty comfortable shooting for a beginner. Our class was small (5 people) and I would highly recommend taking this class. I also learned (not in class) that in Georgia, a concealed carry license is not required. Not sure I agree with that however, it is what it is. Saved me $80 for that license and a trip to the courthouse. read more

This morning I participated in the basic handgun safety course offered by this range. They have several levels of courses, and different types of courses for all levels. Today's instructor was Remington; and Andrew was helping and sitting in on the course for certification by the USCCA. We spent the first couple hours discussing handgun handling and safety, as well as practicing loading and clearing a "dummy" gun prior to being on the range and going with live ammunition right off the bat. Remington was thorough, and patient as our class of 8 (max number for this particular class) had a number of participants with various backgrounds. I will say, this class easily was worth the investment. You learn about handling of a handgun, practicing safe techniques, showing knowledge about what to do in various situations. The first 2/3 hours was classroom oriented, and the time flew by. The last hour was spent on live shooting on the range, with different ranges and speed/grouping of shots per round. We went from only one shot to going with groups of ten. Andrew had provided me with some feedback so that I can continue to learn and build on the foundation started today. I surprised myself with the accuracy and consistency shown on the range. I won a free return to the range in the future so that I can continue to get better and keep learning about forming good habits prior to any serious decision about ownership. They have several options you can try, so you can decide what works best for you. I just happened to like the one provided for me. I highly recommend taking this course, I am looking forward to continuing my training to see how good I can be. Thanks to the team here for starting what I hope will be growth in my ability to practice proper safety and being consistent with my accuracy. This is a really nice indoor range and gun shop. Unlike a lot of other places I have been the staff here really knows the details on their products. I was looking for a range bag and the salesman knew every detail about the various models and showed me the advantages of each one and why I may like this feature compared to a different one. It was a big help for me in selecting the best bag for my specific needs. I am not local to the area but anytime I am nearby I stop in now. read more

My boyfriend and I came here to meet our good friends for some gun practice. Our friend brought his own gun, and we rented one. There is a shortage on ammo, so each person was limited to one box each. You get to pick your practice target sheet, and off you go with ear protection and goggles. I get kind of nervous firing a gun, and it was hard to tell where my bullets had hit sometimes on the sheet, but it is fun. There was a really nice guy there who gave me some pointers on how to shoot. It's not cheap. I think we were there maybe an hour, and it was about $100, but it was fun and something different to do. I am sure we will come back here, because I would like to one day have a gun at home for us for protection. I love that it was close to our home and something out of the ordinary to go do. read more

I was extremely disappointed by how rude and unprofessional the staff are at this establishment.I came here with a few loved ones from out of town to have a good time. However we never had the opportunity due to a staff member accusing my loved one of making a statement regarding their safety policy. Which was never said for the record. Instead of the staff member taking the time to get a better understanding of what was said they immediately started yelling and cursing at him telling him to leave while also threatening physical harm towards him. After he was continuously verbally attacked by staff for several minutes he became angry and reciprocated the same energy. I went to this range last Saturday (1/28/23) The staff at the front was really helpful and since it was my first time in there I had asked one of them where to go to get a lane and he was really helpful and got me setup with targets and was able to get me into a lane within about 10 minutes of going in which was surprising since I went around 12:30 so I thought it would be busy. I was able to save some time by signing the waiver online before making the drive over. The area was really clean and I really liked that it had a digital adjustment for how far you wanted to set the target from you. The range attendant that was making sure everyone was being safe was a really nice guy and I didn't feel shamed for having to ask for his assistance when one of the guns I was breaking in had jammed and was double fed. Over all I had a great experience and will most definitely be my preferred range to shoot at. read more

My wife and I had a private intro pistol course with John this week. Call ahead to schedule the private sessions. The facility was very clean and not too crowded. We had an approximately 1 hr classroom session going over safety nomenclature and technique. This was followed by range time. We used 2 different pistols and got to shoot at different distances. John was great and worked closely with us to help us establish and refine our technique. Overall we had a blast getting to drop some lead down range. We will be back for more! read more

Also, employees carry which is par for the course. I want to tell you about my experience which was life-changing. I had a catastrophic failure with my primary rifle on 6/6, so yesterday I called 27 gun stores in the Gwinnett area, and they are the only ones who constantly keep stock knowing how important it is to be armed in this current volatile time in our country. The looting and hatred for mankind has spread to our own neighborhood-literally. Two houses in my subdivision have been looted. So I told my wife who works in Johns Creek to rush there and get an AR-Pistol (Springfield Saint Edge). HERE IS WHERE YOU PAY ATTENTION. I took the new rifle to the range for a few shots just to test it. About 15 rounds in, if the gun didn't EXPLODE AGAIN!!! Back to back failures that were catastrophic, I literally broke down crying. REMINGTON, the manager, came out and saw the pain in my eyes, and REPLACED THE AR FOR ME ON THE SPOT AND TOLD ME THAT I HAD A BAD BATCH OF AMMO-Frontier by Hornady, after several questions, and kept my bad ammo to send off and sold me better ammo. Who else would do that? In my 20 years of shooting, I've never had this level of customer service. Remington restored my faith in basic humanity and I'll never forget it. Now I have a primary truck and home defense platform in case I'm forced to defend my wife and 3 kids. If you want a gun store with actual stock, good employees, clean layout and superb management with stellar service, this is the place. I don't know how to express my gratitude. Pretty nice gun range and friendly employees, but one of the range officers needs better training, this old dude is very handsy, touched my girlfriend's hands and leg multiple times while he is "teaching" my girlfriend how to shoot (which we didn't ask for in the first place, and No we didn't cause any safety concerns if you think that's the case) I confronted him, he acted as if he didn't do anything wrong, never apologized for what he did, he walked away afterwards so I didn't feel the need to escalate the situation with an old man. I take my guns to range on weekly basis, but never had any range officer that behave like this, providing unwanted "help" and getting all handsy. This range is nice, but I would not come back after today. read more

We took a private lesson here and had a great experience. Philippe was funny, informative, and moved at a pace that is adjusted based on your own speed. He always asked before moving onto the next item to make sure you are comfortable. He's perfect for this job. I left the lesson feeling great and had a lot of fun too. I'm very glad this was my first time experience learning about guns and handling guns. I also appreciate the fact they only give private lessons when the store isn't open to the public - definitely makes me more comfortable this way. I was doing some work travel with a group that consisted of Oregonians and Canadians. This obviously meant we needed to go shooting and eat steaks, because 'Murica. The staff's knowledge and service was fantastic from start to finish. We called the range before arriving since the Canadians were concerned about potential license issues (possessing a pistol sounds like a particularly involved process there). This was alleviated with a cheerful "Sure! Bring them along, eh?" The 5 of us opted for 9mm pistols and began to safely blast away at our lanes. You can move your target up to 25 ft out, but 10 ft was more than enough for us rookies. The facility was well-lit and clean. What really made this trip for us was one of the off-duty employees in the neighboring lane. He was extremely patient and even gave us helpful pointers on proper handling and posture. We were even allowed to try his AR-15 and service pistol! Try the zombie poster for maximum novelty. Cost was pretty reasonable: We had 2 lanes, 2 pistols, 4 ammo boxes, and 5 ear covers/safety glasses for a total of ~$40/person. Try not to wear loose shirts, because those shells can burn. Review is long overdue but here goes. Brought my cousin's kid to the gun range and we purchased the hour of training for kids and an extra hour of personal training. Want to give a shout out to Gabriel Thompson who taught the class and even sent a text message to all the parents that they will be finishing early. Afterwards, I requested that the personal training be more of an experimental hour and have our kid try all the different types of guns from handguns to rifles to shotgun and that's exactly what he delivered. Our kid had a blast for his first time at a gun range and wanted to say thank you again to Gabriel Thompson. This time I was greeted by a much friendlier staff that was very interested in making sure that I had all that I needed. After I was done on the range I got a good education from a gentleman behind the counter (wish I could recall his name) regarding ammunition types and caliber. I gave them two chances, both times I received a poor experience with their customer service. Went as a new shooter with a couple of friends who were also new. If we took longer than a few seconds to answer their questions or ask our questions, we often got a sigh or/and an eye roll. The last time we were there was a few weeks ago for ladies' night. The man helping us that night, in addition to the eye-rolling and angrily sighing he clenched his fists multiple times. When we asked if there was something we were doing to make him annoyed he told us he was just, "annoyed with the computer". They also asked us to leave 10mins before closing. They seem to have great customer service for their regulars but are not interested in helping people new to firearms. read more

We went in this place today. My husband is a frequent customer. It was around 1:20 and somewhat busy. We stood in line behind another family. They were done with their transaction. The older gentleman helping them then walked away to discuss Diesel engines and totally ignored us. The other two employees were helping others. Then other customers walked in and were helped before us and given the last two lanes available. No one acknowledged us or even asked who was next in line. We then walked out. There are other gun ranges with better service and better prices. I hope the owner goes back and watches the surveillance camera to see the lack of customer service. It was hard to miss 3 people standing right in front of the counter holding out IDs. It's easy to be cordial when your establishment isn't busy but with more than 3 people working, shouldn't be this difficult. read more
