I was there on the day of Dan "EL TERRIBLE" B.'s accounted in his scathing review. I heard him say he was "So upset he was going to write a horrible review", so I logged in to see if he was serious. To my surprise he did write a review, BUT (and thats a BIG BUT) ... half of his "facts" are correct the other half are completely imaginary.
I had been shooting most of the morning and was taking a break to eat a snack and lounge on the amazing couch, when I first noticed Dan B. his attitude and demeanor were both disrespectful and irate as soon as he walked in the door. I guess he is one of those people that wakes up pissy and can never be happy. He was rude and short while getting setup with a lane and asked if he needed any equipment. The gun "handling" he described was an experienced shooter going over safety with some first time shooters before they approached the lane. If he had paid any attention he would have noticed this, but he went outside to complain, not just voice a concern but to complain and very rudely at that. The "attendant" (a Veteran and leading firearms instructor), did comply with Dan's b!tch!ng and went in the range and asked if they would please place the firearms in the lane, which they did. The next incident involved a UNLOADED PISTOL magazine being tapped to dislodge a stuck follower. Not a rifle magazine and not a loaded magazine, not that that would matter as bullets are stored most safely in a magazine, that is half of a magazines design and intention. I watch Dan B. completely freak out on the range and then in the lobby, he became completely irate, spoke disrespectfully and with a hostile tone while flailing his arms about.
I'm glad he chose to voice a concern, everyone should do that for safety! But Dan B. screwed up when he forgot his big boy pants and walked in with a bad attitude, looking to cause a problem. First he could have politely and neighborly spoken to the other shooters about his concern, himself, thats what most adults do. Second if this didn't satisfy him or if he felt uncomfortable talking to other adult shooters he should have respectfully advised the staff of his concern and asked what the range policy is. If the behavior continued he could have just asked for a different shoot stall or advised the staff that he was leaving because of what he felt to be "unsafe" behavior.
Instead Dan B. (read his profile, he clearly just likes to b!tch), created a unnecessary scene, was rude, disrespectful and irate. He also forgot to mention in his post that the staff and manager did everything they could to make him happy including charging him $0.00 for his range time, equipment, and ammo. It also interesting to note this is the second time he has been to the Johns Creek range and complained. The first time it was for a target shuttle that spontaneously malfunctioned, for which he got a new lane, and a light bulb that was out down range... like that could be fixed while people are shooting? Dan B. got free range passes for the b!tch!ng that day.
Moral of the story... If you are rude, disrespectful, and bitch enough you'll never pay for stuff. I couldn't do it I have too much integrity. My two cents... no good business needs customers like Dan B. and the happy customers at that business don't want him there!
The whole day of shooting and drama cost me $18, because I forgot to renew my membership, plus $5 for rental and I think I shot all of them, and the Crusader Ballistics ammo I got some months in bulk. So $23 to shoot and watch a man baby throw a tantrum... hell of a day! read more
