Went axe throwing for the first time at Dead Center Axe Throwing (located at the gun range) and it was more fun than expected. The staff were super nice and welcoming. The axe throwing was interactive with a bunch of different games you could play. They had Tic Tac Toe, Memory match games, Zombie and duck hunting games, and a few others. The price was cost effective and they also had some options on Groupon which is honored in store. Definitely enjoyed and would go back. Parking was easy, kids are welcome, definitely a date night option. read more

I went to Dead Center on Aug 2nd for a basic handgun class. It was the BEST class I've ever had! Tá was my instructor and she was AMAZING!! We had so much fun!! She was thorough, patient, extremely knowledgeable and personal. She took her time in her instruction and taught me everything I needed to move forward in my desire to become a wise gun owner. I was extremely nervous but her presence and encouragement was instrumental in helping me finish the class successfully. I would HIGHLY recommend Dead Center for classes and practice and make sure you book Tá, especially if you're a woman. read more

This place is my go to Gun shop. Staff are super cool and very friendly. They will take their time helping you when looking to buy stuff. Inventory is top notch. Small range (compared to others I've visited in Atlanta) but not a bad range at all. The service was surprisingly good. A young lady welcomed me upon arrival which usually isn't my experience going to ranges. Most time the folks are not welcoming at all and it's not unusual to be ignored. They're located in downtown Lawrenceville so I had a bit of a challenge getting a parking space. But that may have been due to me going on a Friday. Their shooting bays are typical shooting bays. They were clean and appeared well-maintained. It was only twelve bucks to shoot so it's a good value. I may get a membership after I've gotten another visit or two in just to check things out a bit more. The last range I was a member of closed down and I have since moved to Lawrenceville, so this will likely be my go-to range. read more

Would like to leave ZERO stars Please. I bought my husband a membership as a Fathers Day gift, and our first time in, NO- ONE, even though we told two people it was our first time in, bothered to mention- Not to put holes in their cardboard target - "in certain places" until AFTER our experience. Then, wanted to charge my Veteran husband $50. I explained no one went over Anything with us, I asked for a manager and was told their was no one I can speak with and then she said "You Have to Pay"! She did reduce the fee from $50 to $11. The reason; She said, because the bullet "might" bounce off and put holes in their ceiling or something to that effect. I'm like what, I thought, that's why you practice. So we were charged for a "what if" scenario. "If", you hit the target here... you could.... damage our building. We didn't, and we weren't aware prior by the employees working there. In their restroom, literally, a sign states, if you have a good experience please leave a review, if not, please speak with management. That really didn't work for me. I don't usually spend my time reviewing places, but at the price of their memberships, you would think when you tell (not one, but two different people) that it's your first time in, that they would take the time to explain some basic rules, or do's and do not's of your new found unfamiliar environment. Especially if there is anything you may be charged for in addition. This should have been clear as initially, I was asking quite a few questions already. Very convenient shooting range right in near Buford Highway / Buford drive. Their pricing for the targets are really reasonable at $1 each, and the staff is quite nice. I asked for some advice and they gave it, as well as some additional pointers for me (some of my shooting meant that i had recoil, so to practice, i was informed to put a blank on top of the gun, pull the trigger and make sure the shell doesn't fall off. this will help me with the recoil.) The pricing for the lanes were a little more expensive than other gun ranges in the area (but not as expensive as Georgia Gun @ the mall of Georgia, but more expensive than Trigger time). It looks like they combine the rifle area with the hand gun area, as I was shooting my 9 mm, and a few rows down from me was a guy with his AR shooting off mega rounds. I like how clean and well run the facility is though. The management was nice and knowledgeable. read more

Although I use another range in Flowery Branch, went down to check out some AR15s and pistols since they have a quite large selection. Really good prices on some tactical rifles and do run sales on bulk ammo. This is a shooting range and a gun store so full service all you need for your home protection, hunting needs. My buddy picked up a nice 1911 my first visit ( ex-marine) and is quite pleased with the deal he got and many options on pistols and rifles at the $500 price point which you need to jump on now ( 2016) before it jacks up for the demand. Lots of deals on Glocks. Will be shopping here to compare to online, Trigger Time or my other fav- Clydes Armory in Athens...Time to buy people. Get trained, get a permit, practice and always think safety. read more

I introduced myself as a first time gun buyer. The man behind the counter seemed peeved that I was there; told me I should get there earlier "for us to be able to help you". Their are four indoor gun ranges in my surrounding area, I became a member at Dead center indoor gun range because its conveniently located on Buford highway in Buford Georgia and for the lowest prices on guns and ammunition. The staff their are also exceptional and very knowledgeable in firearms and fundamental training. I took a private class with SRO Ta' Pettiford who is a awesome instructor in the fundamental use of firearms, after that class I saw an overwhelming improvement in my shooting skills by starting with the basic fundamental of shooting the class was well worth the $75 I paid because I came away with a lot more than what I expected as well as results. read more

The worst option I went last week and it took me awhile to cool down. I will never go again 1) they change rules as they go. They told me over the phone that there were lanes available. I get there and told nope sorry. These guys are great. They are very helpful and close to where I live. The other ranges are closer to Lawrenceville and traffic is congested. Their ammo is reasonable priced and available in this COVID season where ammo is hard to find and high priced. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful when I have questions. The also offer handgun classes and "Know the Law" classes; which are important to know your rights and obligations if you do have to fire your gun. They also have used firearms as well as new rifles and new pistols. They also rent pistols if you want to try one out before purchasing. Great folks and very professional. Really wanted to like this place because it is close to where we live BUT customer service is so important to us that we will be driving past this place to somewhere that rewards both it's male and female customers a little more equally. I was treated fine on my initial solo visit - came back later with my wife and she was largely ignored. I've heard gun shops were notorious for treating women condescendingly but hadn't experienced it until I went here with my wife. The counter attendant actually left us to go help someone else in the middle of her asking questions! I know what you're thinking and no, they were not busy and no, "please excuse me while I see if this other person needs help" did not seem to be considered. He literally just walked off. Unfortunately for them, we were shopping for her, so, no, cannot recommend - which is a shame because the gun range looked promising and its very close to us. read more

Dead Center has a great indoor gun range. It's great because you don't have to have much interaction with the staff. My past two trips to Dead Center, the customer service was less than stellar. I needed to have a sight replaced on a pistol. I e-mailed the pro shop with the model of the gun and what I needed to have done. I asked if they could preform this and if so could I get an estimate on the cost. I got a response saying yes they could do it and it would be 20 to 35 dollars. When I got to the store I was told they could not do it. Wasted trip. Wasted Time. As mentioned, The range is nice and relatively affordable, but the staff leave something to be desired. If you just want to fire off some rounds yeah go for it. If you are in the market for a fire arm or ammo or supplies or to have a some simple work done keep driving. read more

So when I get the guy behind the counter tells me that every hole that is shot over a black line I will get a charged $1. I thought he was joking as he was laughing and smiling when he told us. When we checked out I was charged $6. Seriously? I thought he was trying to be funny. I been to different ranges and have never encountered such a policy. I spoke with a manager Jim and he said it was because anything over the black line can damage the ceiling. If that is truly a concern then you have a problem with the design of your facility. That's not my problem. $6 wasn't the issue, the issue was the ridiculous policy and they are serious. They want their money! So over this policy guess I won't be returning. Trigger Time in Flowery Branch is great, Range Guns and Safe's, is also a great facility without this policy. Lost my range business and any future purchases. read more

My dad and I took the Basic Handgun Safety and Marksmanship Course with Terrance about a month ago. It is expensive but it was a fun and informative. We only had 5 people in our class which made it more personal. We now have made an effort to shoot there on Thursdays for their free gun rentals. Their staff has been a huge help in our process of choosing the right gun for each of us. We just adore Ta' and look forward to talking with her and Terrance everytime we go! This is probably a fine place to shoot if you know your way around a gun range and if you're familiar with shooting. If you are a newbie however, go elsewhere. My husband brought me to Dead Center yesterday and we quickly discovered the blonde female that works there is not interested in helping anyone learn. She was very disconnected with us and had a rather "stuck-up" attitude. Sadly, she missed a great opportunity to share her love of guns and shooting with someone new (and to one day sell both my husband and I guns). Explained what I was after and they explained why my logic was flawed in perfectly reasonable terms which resulted in me spending less but buying the right things instead of wasting my money. Was pleasantly surprised with the service here. Have bought a few things here with good results , but checked with them on doing a fairly complex NFA transfer and they walked me through it as if they were my neighbor. It requires multiple tax stamps, and multiple questions on my part, but they spent 20 minutes with me going over all the details and options.
